Broen hadn't expected much from the talk he'd had with Levina in his apartment. Maybe a text with some dumbass joke or meme or something. Or jabs about him doing something heroic. But he definitely hadn't expected her to contact him actually needing his help. He had been working when he got the text - luckily his boss was cool with him taking off early from his shift. As soon as he got the clear, his apron was thrown to the floor and he was out the door with a bang and the fast, rhythmic sound of sneakers on concrete.

Running wasn't difficult anymore: he could keep going at a decent pace for a pretty long time. Sprinting however was a different story. While he could keep going for as long as he wanted - by the time he reached the spot where he was supposed to meet Levina he was out of breath and his muscles screamed at him for the abuse he'd put them through. They'd forgive him later.

He knocked on the door to her apartment, still winded but not about to let that stop him. Deep breaths. Even yourself out. Don't let her see you sweat, even though you're sweating bullets from the run you just did. He hoped that she didn't mind that he still had flour on his clothes or that he smelled like a bakery and sugar. Honestly though, he hoped that she did mind. At least if she was making jokes, it probably wasn't all that bad.

kofi_comm_1_by_sayutb_de166ok-pre.pngLevina made her way home immediately after the bar. She didn't want to run into anyone else. The entire point of her going to the bar she did was to avoid people that knew her, but as fate would have it, the one person she really didn't want to confront came in.

She had reached out to Broen randomly. She needed someone but couldn't think of anyone that would get it. She had a front up for everyone she met. Only two people had really seen through it. Cosette and Broen. Levina couldn't reach out to Cosette because she couldn't let her see her breaking down while talking about how the swan maiden needed to toughen up.

Now, the personal assistant sat on her couch with zero desire to move. She hadn't even changed out of her work clothes, merely just untucking her shirt and taking her heels off. Knocks on the door broke the silence of her apartment.

Opening the door slowly, her usually bright electric blue eyes appeared faded. Her eyes were puffy from were she had been crying. When Levina saw Broen, a small smile came to her face.

"Hey Hero."

She stepped away from the door and moved back to the couch leaving the door open for him to come in.

The open door was all the invitation that Broen needed. He stepped inside and shut the door with a gentle click, leaning back against it for a second, his lips pursing thoughtfully before returning her smile.

"Hey, I said anytime didn't I?"

He didn't move too quickly, as he went to sit next to her on the couch. She had definitely been crying, She was dressed pretty nicely - as usual. So had she come straight from work? Or was this something else.

"I came as soon as I got your text though. Have you eaten anything? Food might do you a little good."

Levina looked up at Broen as he moved over to sit next to her. A weak smile on her face as he asked if she had eaten. She hadn't, and honestly she didn't have much in her kitchen as she hardly ate at home.
"Not since lunch...I was going to eat at the bar...."
She trailed off thinking about what had transpired at the bar. How her past had come swarming back to her in full force.
"I-I didn't know who else to call."
She knew Cosette would be understanding and empathetic to what happened. Perfectly coddle her till she felt better, but that didn't want to put that on her. So Broen was it. And so far he was living up to the nickname she had given him.

Levina didn't seem like the type to keep a lot of food in the house to cook. That was fine, he could work around that. Pulling out his phone, Broen stood up, saying, "One sec."

He went over to her kitchen and got just a regular glass of tap water with some ice in it. Meanwhile he ordered a pizza delivery from one of the places he had learned to trust since he came here.

And then he was back on the couch with her, offering Levina The glass of water. "I've got food on the way; pizza. Nothing fancy, but food on your stomach will be again. And this is to get you back some of the water you lost. So drink up you dehydrated bitch."

He wasn't going to directly point out that she had been crying. That wouldn't do any good. Broen was holding back, trying not to see too concerned and possibly make her push him away rather than opening up. Still, she had given him something to work with. A thread that he could follow.

"What happened at the bar?"

Levina did her best to shoot him a 'fuck you' look as she fought off another wave of tears. She was not about to let him see her crying. He might have known, but he wasn't going to see. Not if she could help it.
"Asshole..."
She used her shoulder and nudged him a bit. She wasn't one that usually allowed people to call her things like that, but she knew he was doing it good heartedly. Complying with him finally, she took the glass in both hands and took a sip. Catching herself in the reflection of the glass, Levina finally saw what a mess she was.
"I went to try to just relax. Hoping no one I knew would have been there. But then the one person I didn't want to show up... shows up."

Handing her the glass, Broen let her drink and let her talk since that was obviously what she needed at the moment.

So someone had come and ruined her good time. He wondered briefly if it was this Mathos guy she had mentioned before. She had seemed fine of him the last time they'd talked and he couldn't imagine her attitude flipping so entirely so quickly - but it was a possibility.

"So this guy shows up," he started, seeding the word guy to try and learn more without pressuring her to dump her feelings on him. "He shows up and gives you trouble? Or you just don't like his face?"

"Gives me trouble..." An amused huff escapes between sips of water before she continues. "He gives everyone trouble. He didn't seem like that bad of a person when I met him. Sure, annoying, but everyone is annoying."
Levina rubbed her face a bit with a single hand still holding onto the glass. The cool exterior of it felt good in her hand. She sniffed a little from the runny nose she had cause from her earlier crying. It made her feel even more pathetic. Shoulders sunk down as she visibly seemed to be giving up.
"He's...he's not a bad guy. He just doesn't know better. But still...it's no excuse."
The blue haired hot mess began telling Broen everything. Starting at the Grey Raven with her and Pietro. How he had made her feel even though she hadn't been expecting it. Alt's reaction to it as she was leaving. Them meeting up at the bar and the conversation they had there. Then the climax of it all and why she had messaged him.
"No one...no one wants me to be happy. It's all just lipservice they give to fulfill some sick desire or feeling they have."
She pulled her knees up into her chest and hugged her legs as she put her chin inbetween her knees to rest, fighting back more tears. 'Not here. Not with him here. You won't hear the end of it.'

Once again, Broen just let her talk. And as he vividly remembered from his own breakdown with Angelo and Captain Trigg, once the floodgates opened it all came spilling out.

He was quiet for a minute after she finished, absorbing the information and figuring out what he needed to say.

"I'm sorry that that happened to you, Livewire. But you're wrong on one account; I want you to be happy. I found happiness, and if I deserve to be happy then so do you.

I know it's easier said than done, but if this Pietro guy makes you happy... fuck what Altizica thinks, you know? As long as you're happy and you're not being abused, nobody else's opinion on it matters."

She sat and listened to him. The nickname he tossed out brought a small smile to her face before it disappeared as he continued. Her brow furrowed as she thought about what he said. The story she gave wasn't even the complete story. She didn't know if she could or should give the entire story. Broen knew, at least enough, about Mathos. Yet he didn't bring him back up. Now Pietro was in the story, with Alt, all the while she invited him to her apartment.'Way to sound like a whore Levina.'
"That's...that's not the whole story..."
Against her better judgment she decided to tell him all of it. She knew it wouldn't make her look good, but she was tired of putting up the front, at least for right now. She went back to her and Pietro's first meeting, how it almost went south, Alt's interuption, the meeting with her, Mathos, and Pietro. She even explained how she felt about Mathos.
Levina was careful in her wording however. Even with how upset she was, she remained completely loyal and trustworthy to her employer, not letting on to anything other than him owning the brewery. Pietro might make her feel happy, but her heart still remained with Mathos. Her sudden feelings towards Pietro had been unexpected when she had agreed to go along with the plan.
"I don't know what to do Broen....I can't...I can't say anything. I've done everything he's ever wanted of me. And then Pietro...and Natasha..."
Her tone betrayed that she was feeling worse about herself the more she went on. She was starting to peg herself as the bad guy in all this. The one that was causing all these problems. Just another thing she had to be better at...
