Corey entered his dorm room, sliding his bag off of his shoulder and onto his bed. Bouncing down beside it, he looked out of the window. It had been a while since Corey had been in education and he was rather enjoying it. The teachers were nice; the students too. He had a lot of catching up to do, hence why he was in remedial but he didn't mind. All in all, he was settling in well, finally starting to feel as though he was free at last. Aedan was there if he needed to talk (though he still wasn't entirely trusting of him) and he had started to become friendly with those he shared classes with.

Today was no different than any other. He had his usual lessons and sat down for his lunch, as usual, but a sudden unusual feeling began to creep in. A cold sort of feeling that slithered down his spine, making the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. Maybe it was just the random feeling when someone 'walked over your grave' but his stomach started to churn - something definitely wasn't right.

Without warning, a thick darkness enveloped him, leaving him blind and alone. Alone except for the voices. Terrible cries and whispers shrieking in his ears... or was it in his head? The noise was unbearable. His ears rang as the indistinct words bellowed all around him. Corey spun around in a desperate attempt of finding light. Finding someone. Finding anything but the darkness and the shrills. His heart hammered within his chest, his breathing quickening. His hands thrusted against his ears in a pointless attempt to block out the noise. Thoughts were unable to form in his mind as his scream joined those around him.

Knees buckling, Corey fell to the ground. Now there was no darkness, only his dorm room around him. Where there were voices: now silence. His heart was still racing and he noticed tears had streamed from his eyes, leaving drops on the floor. Getting up off of his hands and knees, a surge of energy flowed through him. Had it all been in his mind? There was something in that darkness. Something watching. It can't have been something he had imagined.

His suspicions were confirmed when he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. A hand felt the stranger's face that was staring back at him. No longer was he brown haired but instead had various shades of blue with striking eyes. His features were older and unrecognisable and he was... taller. Even the clothes he was wearing were different. It was all surreal but somehow, the power Corey felt inside himself told him all he needed to know. He was a role in something bigger than himself. A role he did not want or ask for.
