Appearance Description: Akarina eyes are a vivid yellow color. She has tanned skin, due to her staying outside in the sun a lot. She mostly wears shorts and crop tops, but not exclusively. It is impossible impossible for her to wear long pants, because her bird legs prevent her from doing so. It's also very hard to wear shirts with sleeves, because her wings are also her arms. Akarina doesn't care much about colors, but she still has a slight preference for warm ones. Her hair is fiery red, and she likes to keep it fairly short. Being a harpy, Akarina has wings, who also are, in a way, her arms. Akarina's wings are the same color as her hair, red. At the end of those wings, she had claws, which she uses as hands. Her "arms" are attached to her wings. Akarina doesn't have foots, but also bird claws. Her legs are covered in red feathers (like birds legs are) up to her waist. She is relatively small and very lightweight, which is a common thing for harpies.
Personality Description: Akarina is incredibly stubborn and can get mad extremely easily. She can be mean without always meaning to, and most of the time, is very cold and distant towards certain people, especially humans. She acts a lot like she's the queen of the world. She doesn't forget easily, so you don't want to get on her bad side. Despite being what most call "a bitch", Akarina can still have her good moments. She is very loyal and will do anything to protect the ones who are important to her. Once you get to know her, she will do her best to be good to you.
Species Abilities: Akarina can fly on long distances, with her body still being able to function in high altitudes. She is also able to emit a sonic scream, a very high pitched sound which can cause pain (and more rarely, ear damage) to the people close to her (aprox. 1 km range). Akarina only uses this to protect herself or when feeling very threatened. She is very agile and can move faster than most creatures.
Powers: Weirdly enough, Akarina is able to breathe fire. It doesn't hurt her, but it still feels uncomfortable afterwards. She can't do it for a long time, because she just "runs out of fire" after a short while. She can control the amount of fire that comes out of her mouth, but generally it's just enough fire to burn a single tree. She never really used it on people, but it's useful when hunting or to start a fire when sleeping outside. Sometimes, when Akarina is really mad, a few sparks will come out of her mouth without her meaning to.
Biography: Akarina grew up on a farm in Florida with her two harpy parents. She didn't leave that place very much, since her wings would have made it obvious that she wasn't normal. She still got to see bits and and parts of the human world when flying around with her parents, but never up close. She had a few other harpy friends growing up, but was never really social, and never had any siblings either. At the age of 17, both of Akarina parents disappeared while they were out hunting. She looked for them everywhere, but, alas, never really knew what happened to them. One thing was clear for her though: the humans had something to do with that. After that day, Akarina was never really the same. She took care of herself alone, and her personality became cold and distant. She slowly developed a disliking for the humans, because of what she assumed they had done to her beloved parents..
2 years laters, Akarina decided that she had enough of living where her parents had vanished. She talked with some of the friends that she still kept contact with, and one of them told her about their sister who had left for a place called "Starlight Academy". I didn't take long for Akarina to find to place, and she immediately left, taking only a few items from her past with her. This was a beginning of her new life, or at least, she hoped.
