Hal quietly listened as she explained her piece, trying to understand the workings of the gloves. The power blocking was understandable -- in fact, power nullifiers are available in the island (though not to public use) so he could pick up on that. He was slightly confused about the part that she didn't seem to know everything about it; or more like, rather than confused, he was concerned. His brows furrowed as Caspian's voice trailed of, and she seems to carry a dark expression on her.
The boy wanted to reach out, in all honesty, but in the short moment they'd been talking, all he kept doing was bringing up things that made her upset. "No, no. It's fine really; I should be the one apologizing. I keep asking weird questions to you. I'm sorry for that."
The chance in color of the light in her gloves caught Hal's attentiona again, but the depth of the color made him wary. The furrow in his brow seemed to become more pronounced as she tried to make out the symbols that were trying to form until finally they appear in ominous English text. His eyes seemed to struggle cacthing up and reading but as he read the last line, he felt a chill run down his spine. "Mon Dieu," he uttered under his breath.
Hal looked up to the girl in front of him, curious as how her reaction didn't seem any more fazed than seeing a joke. She wasn't taking it seriously -- obviously because she thinks her powers were subpar, but knowing she'd been part of some crazy experiment to be super soliders... it was a scary thought for him.
Words were at the tip of his tongue, he wanted to say it. It probably didn't mean literal gods -- she'd said it herself, her purpose. Maybe she couldn't harm the surroundings but, she could probably harm people. Hal felt his stomach drop. He didn't want her thinking about it honestly. To be so wrapped up in your abilities...
"I-I mean... it's not like you have to be all powerful anymore, right?" Hal stuttered out. He continued to speak, voice only getting stronger as he kept on. "If you were taken away from that place... and you're here. It's not like you have to have godly magic or whatever. You know what? Forget that Hunter. He's just a douchebag who doesn't have anything better to do than to bully someone just because he thinks he's better. Fuck him. If I see him hound you again, I'd gladly fry him up."
Hal didn't catch himself soon enough, again, his uncontrollable mouth making him say things he shouldn't. With a long groan, he pulled his knees too him, curling into a ball in front of her. At the lend of his groaning, he spoke in a muffled voice, "Forget I said anything. I didn't say anything."
