"Bro, I think I found our last sibling. Come to the park asap and track me. I'll track them." The phone made a beep almost as soon as he'd said he was on his way and the call was terminated from the other end. Tadashi was left looking stupidly at the screen.

Our brother is here and Tomo knows where he is?

Tadashi was having trouble processing the emotions that came with that thought. It was a bit of a running theme in his life ever since he had flipped out and gone into half-cat, causing him to be sent to the island. His attempts to force himself to always remain calm had been less and less successful lately with all the drama. Most of the problems hadn't even been directly related to him but they were still affecting him. He was absolutely elated to finally get to meet his brother again after all the years apart, but both Tadashi and Tomomi had been sent to the island because of traumatic events. It was a worrying trend that he hoped with all his heart hadn't continued with their brother.

Tadashi snapped himself out of his thoughts and threw down the schoolwork he had been trying to catch up on. This was far, far more important to him than any school stuff. He ran out the door and before he even left the building he was in cat form running as fast as he could.

It took a little time and it was a little tiring but Tadashi made it to the park not too long after their phone call had ended. He slowed down to catch his breath and start searching for Tomo's trail. It took a long time, but eventually he caught wind of her and moved in that direction. As her scent got stronger, another scent caught his attention. This one was different enough that he knew it wasn't Tomo but it still brought back familiar memories. The cold winter living in an alley, crying as he tried to wake his mother, and being terrified as a man approached to take them all away.

Tadashi was getting tired but he pushed on towards the sources of those scents. No fatigue was going to stand in the way of being with his siblings today. "Tomo," he meowed loudly, "I'm here."

Tomo's thoughts were a blur the minute after she ran to the upstairs in the community center. She had some vague memory of jumping out of a window into a nearby tree and onto the ground from there. Tomo was so concentrated on tracking the scent, the scent that was so achingly familiar to her. It made her remember the freezing cold, heart-breaking cries and a cold body of their mother. And then warm hands that eventually separated Tomo from this scent for almost 14 years.
It took Tomo a long time to track the source of the smell. The trail was vague and made many turns, and as Tomo followed those turns she recognized the pattern. Bird hunting. Her brother was hunting birds. Somehow this thought alone brought her joy, baseless joy.
Finally, after what felt like hours, Tomo felt the scent getting stronger and started to smell blood mixed in with it. He had caught his prey. Tomo ran faster and faster and hoped Tadashi was somewhere near. Because the scent was the strongest just beyond the bush Tomo had stopped before.
And like magic Tomo heard Tadashi's voice, he was in cat mode. Tomo meowed back and waited for him to come to her. And then she stepped through the bushes with Tadashi and into a small enclosure of bushes. In the middle there was a white cat eating a fat pigeon. Tomo just stared for a while before she could say anything. And finally she meowed weakly.
"Brother...?"

Swish swish went the kitty tail, munch munch went the cat jaws, nothing like a good pigeon to fill a hungry feline. Shiro was currently male, had switched when they decided to hunt, he'd gotten the pigeon easily enough. And so the young cat was enjoying his avian mean, when a voice and a hauntingly familiar scent hit him.

Slowly he'd turn to face the duo, two cats, two that looked oddly like him, he'd tilt his head to one side, his yellow eyes looking them over. Then he'd meow, "b-brother?" he'd take a step back, his eyes squinting at them, he had a memory, of two siblings, vague, fuzzy memories that had often kept him awake at night, "w-what did you call me."

He'd take on a slightly defensive posture and circle and bit to the left before sitting and looking at them. Shiro wasn't sure if they were real or if this was some awful joke, his nose would twitch as it picked up their scents again. "I.....," he'd blink and look at them, his tail twitching slightly, "you...you two....two of you....I remember....always two others." Shiro would tremble just a little as he stepped a bit closer.

It was easy enough to make the rest of the way over to where Tomo had been waiting once she called out to Tadashi. He walked over to her and allowed her to take the lead though the bushes. She was the one who had tracked down their brother, and besides Tadashi was a little tired from his run over to the park.

The scent of blood and feathers was in the air and Tadashi would have smirked if he wasn't in his cat form. Tomo and him will definitely get along if he loves birds as much as she does. As they pushed through the ring of bushes he spotted who they had come to see. A white cat with familiar yellow eyes clearly enjoying what was left of the pigeon. Even if birds weren't his favorite prey, the smell was enough to make even Tadashi a little bit hungry. He sniffed the air one ore time before he put that thought to the side.

Refusing to wait for Tomo to do all the talking Tadashi padded forward on his black colored paws, nudging against Tomo almost by reflex as he moved up. Something was wrong though. While Tomo and he might have had a little hesitation from being so excited, their brother seemed... scared?

Ok, calm and reassuring I can do. I think. I just hope Tomo doesn't try jumping on him.

Tadashi had approached Tomo's right side and was able to move just slightly more so that he was partially between her and their brother. Tadashi meowed softly, "We're pretty sure you are our brother. Take your time and think about our scents if you have doubts." Noticing the trembling Tadashi really wanted to move forward and greet his brother but instead held back to let him make the moves he was comfortable with.

Tomo watched the cat, their brother, intensely and carefully. And was surprised by his intimidated, unsure reaction. Surely all could not react like Tomo, just run into their newly found sibling's arms, but to get scared? Tomo wasn't hurt, just confused, and was about to take a step forward. But Tadashi beat her to it, surprisingly, and he nudged against Tomo as he passed her. Tadashi set himself on the front, slightly between Tomo and their brother. Tadashi did his thing, sounding soothing and reassuring and Tomo wanted to smile. But instead she kept her eyes on their brother, who was trembling and had took a small step towards them. Tomo knew sometimes gentle words were useful and necessary. But unfortunately those weren't her specialty.
Tomo stepped forward too, beside Tadashi, and looked at their brother determined.
"What Tadashi said, just smell an' ya'll know it's us."
Tomo's straight tone went a bit gentler as she could recognize signs on their brother. He had been through a lot.
"Ya remember right? Always us three, when the rest were gone. Us three, until we were separated."
Tomo took more steps forward until she was quite close to him.
"I remember ya too. I remember lickin' your fur, to warm ya. Do ya remember that?"

"I remember," he'd say, in meows of course, "I...remember...," he remembered his mom, the witch, telling him he'd always be alone without her, that he'd be dead in a alley, so family, no nothing. "I remember..you......her...us...," he'd take another small step back, his eyes never leaving them.

He'd watch them a bit longer, his nose twitching, his tail flicking, "Shiro.....my name is Shiro." Shiro would circle back to the right, slowly getting closer to them, they were family, claimed to be, smelled like it, he'd stop just a few feet away to stare at them.

"I remember the cold of the winter......," he'd tilt his head, his eyes squinting, "I remember....you two..until...someone found us." His ears would twitch followed by his nose doing the same, "siblings.....you're them." He'd take a step closer, continuing to look them up and down, they looked like him, they smelled like him, the cat side was accepting it, the human side not as quickly, "you're both here."

Tomo was being really good about taking this slowly. Well, as slowly as she could. Tadashi had kind of expected her to try running over and hugging or tackling their brother right away. Either she was following Tadashi' s careful lead or she noticed something more in their brothers actions than he had.

She was moving forward slowly though, making their brother feel their presence and probably making it easier for him to examine their scents. Tadashi followed her, though he was leaving more space between himself and their brother. He didn't want to crowd him and risk causing him to flee.

"Yes brother, we are your siblings. It is so good to see you. I'm Tadashi and she's Tomomi," Tadashi meowed happily. He seemed to be warming up to them at least a little. There was no bowing during this introduction because that wasn't really something you did as a cat and Tadashi was afraid that changing forms right now might startle their brother.

Their brother just seemed so unsure, so wary. He had taken steps back as they approached but at least he was coming closer a little bit now. Perhaps He had taken their advice and was trusting his nose.

"You seem really nervous. There's no rush, we aren't going anywhere." Indeed Tadashi was willing to spend all the time he needed to make his siblings happier, both of them. "Don't know what brought you here, but i'm so glad to see you safe and sound." At least he hoped his brother was safe and wasn't having too many problems.

Tomo didn't have an exceptionally good memory, and she suspected neither did Tadashi. And still they remembered their childhood days clearly, because a cat's memory worked differently. That was why Tomo wondered, while their brother was obviously coming to grips with them being there, what exactly had happened to him to cloud his memory. Tomo has memories that were fuzzy or nonexistent because they were...traumatizing. Tomo wanted to know who had done something to her brother, and what. But as he finally introducd himself as Shiro Tomo knew it was not the time for that. It got to be neavy stuff.
"Like this dork said, I'm Tomo."
Tomo sat down, makkng a statement that she was not going anywhere. Just like Tadashi, she was ready to spend the rest of the day here if necessary.
"And you're damn right we're here. We've been looking for ya, for 14 years now."
Tomo's tail was swishing, she did want to tackle hug Shiro and demand where he had been all these years. But Shiro was obviously not ready for that.

Shiro would listen, his eyes going back and forth between the two cats, as he paced a little, his tail twitching nervously. He remembered them to an extent, his two siblings who survived the winter with him, separated when found and adopted out.

He remembered the woman he called mom, telling him he had no else, that no one else loved him. Shiro let out a small frustrated growl and shifted to human, he'd continue to eye the pair, his mind confused and conflicted.

"I....w-what do you want?" he asked, his body rigid and nervous as if ready to bolt if needed, "I don't....," he cut himself off and shook his head, trying to clear away some memories he didn't want. "What do you want from me?"

Still nervous, still acting like he can't trust us. This whole thing sucked. Their brother had to have been through some terrible things to be acting like this. Even Tadashi could tell that now. The worst part was that there was very little Tadashi could even do to help other than move slowly and hope that Shiro warmed up to them.

Tadashi stopped getting closer and just sat on the ground a few feet away. When Shiro changed forms he did the same, trying to follow Shiro's example for what he was comfortable with. "What do we want?" he echoed quietly as he thought. It was a very strange question. It implied they had some ulterior motive for wanting to be with their brother again.

"We just want you to be with us again- to be our brother. To be.... safe. We love you." Tadashi was starting to tear up and he wasn't even sure exactly why. He was happy that they had found their brother and sad that he was in enough pain to distrust them. It all just kind of twisted up inside him like a bad hairball that he couldn't quite cough up. He rubbed the tears out of his eyes with a few clean spots on his gloved hands and forced himself to swallow his feelings.

This is not about how I feel. This is supposed to be about Shiro. I'm the calm one. I need to be calm.
