When her brothers transformed so did she. Tomo stood the shortest among them, and yet why did she feel the biggest at that moment? Her mind was filled with strange calm. Tomo normally was not good with complicated feelings. She just said what she thought, the hell with the rest. And as she watched both of her brothers in chaos Tomo stood firm.
Tomo gently put her hand on Tadashi's shoulder, and she wanted to put one on Shiro's shoulder too. She wanted to touch him, to sew shut this chasm that seemed to be between them. But if Tomo had learned anything from her time on the streets it was when you could get bitten. And she had also learned, that when you wanted something you needed to give something back.
"This ain't the rules of the jungle."
Tomo looked at Shiro, serious but somehow sad.
"We are gonna give ya our affection even if ya never give anythin' back. We are gonna be here even if ya push us away. If ya ask me, it'd be bullshit to say we didn' want anything. Like bro said, we wanna love ya. We want ya to stay safe. We want ya to not disappear again."
Tomo smiled a bit, she wasn't crying. She would not cry now.
"If ya can manage that it'd be great, Shiro."
