A Teacher and A Flame

Claira stood in the hallways talking to a nurse, expenses would be covered by the school via her command. She talked with them telling them not to ask questions and to care for him well. She told them he might try to escape, but he needed to heal. She continued on for a bit, the nurse was starting to doze off. Claira sighed, seeing the nurse now dozing away. "Some help you are." She said with a grumble, she took a extra blanket from the supply closet. Approching the room, she figured he'd be asleep.

She wanted to make sure he didn't get too cold, when she saw him sitting up she almost darted away. She quickly turned around, standing on the wall beside the door on the opposite side of the wall of him. She breathed panicking, he wasn't supposed to be up! She stood there for a moment catching her breath from being startled. She felt like a schoolgirl hiding from her crush, she immediately scolded herself for thinking such things.

She placed the blanket on the counter, and headed down the hallway. She wasn't going to let the relationship grow, if it did she'd only end up hurt. Tears formed in her eyes, she wanted to turn and go back to him. But she couldn't, she couldn't for her own sake. She just couldn't, she felt miserable as she walked down the long hallway.

"Claira?"

Her heart stopped for what seemed like a minute, she stopped still. A tear dripped down her cheek and onto the floor. She lowered her head, another tear joining the other on the floor. Her body shook as she tried to hold in the tears, she wiped them away turning around slowly. She couldn't leave him like that, she closed her eyes for a minute forcing her eyes to hold in the pain. Only the lightest visablity of sorrow and pain was visable as she walked back to him. She was as a water balloon, one poke and she'd let go. One word that stirred her heart and all she worked for would be gone. All her guards would be down, she couldn't run out and avoid him. Because if she did he'd find her again and she'd break then.

"Claira."

The way he said it, she hadn't been called Claira that way ever. It made her have to hold back tears, she knew how much she wanted to let go. But she needed to stay strong, she wanted so much to finally let someone in. She kept holding back, she kept trying to protect herself. But he was slowly edging closer to her heart, eversince he pinned her. Her eyes had tears in them upon closer observation.

She arrived before him, his hand touched her cheek wiping away her tears that were partly dry on her cheeks. Had he done this when he wasn't wounded or she wasn't in such a weakened state from carrying him and thinking about her past she'd have slapped him for laying a hand on her.

"Claira.. It's not a weakness to cry."

His voice soft, he caught her around the waist with his strong arm. Holding her captive and pulling her into a hug. Tears trickled down her cheeks wetting his shoulder. He had broken down her guards to her heart, she fell to pieces in his arms. Tears falling more openly, she couldn't stop the pain she felt. She had felt so many emotions and hid them all, the pain, the worry, the horror. Everything that happened, DCA, her friends, family, everything was pain. She slowly hugged him back carefully and slowly as tears fell.

In all her life after all her pain, she never had a hug. A shoulder to cry on, or any sort of release. She only let out her anger, and that wasn't enough.

"There we go."

Her heartbeat quickened, she seemed to always make it go fast. His head rested on her head gently, he pulled her closer she was so sure he could feel the fast heartbeat he had caused her. His other arm was around her shoulders now, it was impossible to escape if she wanted to. His thumb gently traced circles on her shoulder. She felt so comfortable in his arms, her crying eased. She didn't know why, but it seemed she felt so comforted in his arms.

She then realized he must've been in pain from the wounds and all. She pulled back gently, she didn't want to hurt him. It's funny that she didn't seeing before all she thought about was getting her revenge. She looked at him her eyes still wet with tears, as were her cheeks. She looked at him just staring for a minute into his eyes.

Her eyes lingered for a bit then looked down, she said no emotion. Maybe he didn't care even as a friend, she knew her own eyes normally showed of no emotion. She tried to force the tears back in to show the same cold eyes, but it was nearly impossible. His thumb wiped away her tears, his eyes broken contact as she looked down. He let out a short sigh before releasing her from her prison though she hadn't disliked the prison much. Nor her captor, she didn't know how she was going to protect herself from him. How was she going to keep him from becoming another person who hurt her.

His gaze moved back to her eyes when she looked back up, she sighed slightly. Taking his unwounded hand she tugged everso slightly on it leading him back to the hospital room. "You need to rest, you lost a lot of blood you shouldn't be standing." She said to him almost sounding worried about him.

"You may be subborn but your wounded and I have the upper hand this time." She said with a slight smile refering to the time he pinned her.
