A Storm of Nerves

Addy did seem to have the default expression of 'I'm angry and everyone needs to know I'm angry' but Minna didn't let that keep her from learning more about Addy. The snarl had tipped Minna off at first that she probably was going to unintentionally insult this new person. Then Addy got defensive and Minna put her satchel a bit more in between the two of them for a moment just in case Addy might strike out. But she didn't and seemed to calm down for a moment. "Thank you for the compliment..." Minna was having a hard time dragging up the words she wanted to say.

"I know we just met but um... Would you like someone to help you with the school work? Or at least ask questions to? The actual school stuff I've been doing fine with, just my power has been my problem. And to be honest I want to help, it wouldn't be fare if they kept you back another year if it's just your temper getting to the teachers." In a way Minna was looking for a way to get back at Mr Woodman and if she could help another student get better grades because of her help then she wouldn't be 'a useless idiot of a girl'... well Mr Woodman didn't use those exact words but it was close enough for Minna's mental recalling of his voice.

Minna didn't say anything until Addy finished speaking, she felt like it would be a bad idea to try say anything while she spoke. Once she finished Minna nodded her head letting her know that she understood. "I can help, I'd be able to help you where ever you think you need help. I won't presume to know where you need help. But I'll also say this, if I you tell me to leave or to stop talking during one of those sessions I'll do exactally that. I will leave or stop talking unless you tell me other wise. Okay? That way you are in control of when you feel like you are ready to learn."

She shrugged as she said this, she was feeling a bit more confident now that her mind was occupied with trying to help Addy. "Though if you think another way would work than we can try that."

"I will do my best to live up to that." Minna said giving Addy another warm smile. "Where would you like to start? You're weakest subject or the one you're most interested in?" As they continued to walk at Addy's walking speed, Minna needing to walk a bit faster to keep up but they were coming up to the dorms. Minna made no move to start going faster or slower than her new friend as they were getting to the door. "So we are."

"Question for you Addy. What floor do you live on? I'm on the top floor, room 3. If you ever want to come by. Oh..." Minna then pulled out her phone to show Addy her phone number. "And you can call or text me whenever you want for me to come by to help you with anything. But, Once a week I have... Special tutorings that I need to be at. My tutor likes to change the day and time so I might not be available some days." Minna blushed at this, she hoped Addy would understand.

"I prefer English. Learning about grammar and story structure has always fascinated me since I was young. So I guess you could call it that." Minna smiled as they walked still. They were getting to the front entereance after exchanging dorm rooms and numbers with some texts back and forth between them. Minna was glad she didn't have to come up with anything more for Mr Woodman's extra lessons. They were things she really didn't want to talk about.

When they reached the door Addy moved to open the door and Minna hadn't stopped her momentum carry her into the door as it opened. For the second time today she had fallen onto her rear rubbing both her head and her rear once she stood up again. She didn't even make a sound this time, something in the back of her mind told Minna that she deserved that before she gave Addy an apologetic smile. "It's okay, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going entirely."

Now that they were inside Minna walked them over to the elevators, not feeling like going up all those flights of stairs as she had now fallen down twice in under an hour or so. "If you want I can come over in a day or two and help you with anything you need immediate help with."
