A Storm of Nerves

Minna was holding her satchel to her chest as she looked around her nervously. She didn't think she could take much more of this. Mr Woodman had told her that she needed to work on her powers and even though she had been working on them harder than ever she was still never quite able to get her powers under control. She was wearing a few more layers of clothing than she had use to wear. All thanks to Mr Woodman's extra 'classes' the only parts of her skin showing was her face and she couldn't do much about that. Her hair was currently curtaining her face as she tried not to look at anyone.

As she was walking heading for the dorms to rest and try to calm her nerves. While she was walking she gave a little sniff and wiped a tear away from her eye she bumped into someone and fell backwards dropping her satchel on the ground spilling some of her note books and a text book onto the ground. Minna had let out a surprised squeak of a yell as she landed flat on her back. It was only a moment before Minna was on her hands and knees trying to clean up her stuff and Minna in a panicked voice was trying to speak. "S-sorry, I am so sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going."

Minna more felt the girl getting closer to her than saw and she tried to curl up into a smaller ball. The girl didn't say anything for a second until she seemed to find fault in what Minna was doing and spoke up. Minna stopped moving and she stayed on her hands and knees tears falling onto her gloves as she shuddered in fear. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." Minna kept repeating that phrase and ever time she said it she began closing in on herself.

Her body began to curl up as she tried to make herself as small as possible now. Eventually she rolled over to her side and brought her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around herself. "I didn't mean to, I'm sorry... Please, I'm sorry." Her body quivering from suppressing her crying. In her head at this point it wasn't a random girl looking down at her, it was Mr Woodman. And his magical commands that she could do nothing to stop. Her body quivered in fear to think what her 'teacher' was going to do to her.

Minna couldn't see the other girls expressions change and their voice still sounded demanding when they spoke. Hearing the demands from the girl new tears began to flow. As soon as this girl asked her why she was still laying on the ground Minna began to scramble up to her feet. She continued to mumble that she was sorry even after she got to her feet. Her head was bowed and tears were falling to the ground. When the girl also told her to stop saying sorry Minna shut up and her body began to tremble.

As she began to see this girl who was being so demanding of her picking up her things Minna realized this girl wasn't Woodman and her knees caved and she went down to her knees and she wiped away her tears. "Thank you... I'm... Thank you." Minna finshed wiping her tears away. "I guess my school work is getting to me..." Minna lied as she wrapped her arms around herself before finishing to help put her stuff back into her bag. "I'm sorry..."

Minna rubbed her eyes clear one more time even as the other girl called her an idiot. "Still... thank you." Minna held her satchel full of her stuff again back to her chest as if she was worried that it would simply fall out of her hands while she carried it. It took her a second to get back on her feet again. When this girl said that even though she understood that school was hard that it was not excuse to not pay attention. Minna tried to put a smile on her face, if she could do that then she could get through this part of her life. Minna nodded sadly but still with her smile"I should have payed more attention to where I was going."

"I am, I wanted to simply relax after... today." Minna couldn't tell anyone about what Mr Woodman did to her, and she was supposed to avoid bringing suspicion on him so she was decided that she was going to need to add to her explanation. "I... I haven't been able to control my powers. Even after two years of being here. Everyone I know has gotten control of their powers but here I am two years behind and not even able to turn it off..."

Minna shook her head. "A blast of wind to the face is mostly harmless. If I can't control my power enough to turn it Off. It's constantly happening on my body. If I touch anyone's skin with my skin every nerve in their body activates saying they are in excruciating pain. I... I don't want to hurt people. I never asked to have this power it just... Happened." Minna shrugged, as she was walking next to Addy the other girl might realize that Minna was far enough away that if Addy were to swing her arms at full extension that should wouldn't be able to touch Minna.

"You may have been held back a year. But I'm 16, I have been going to this school for 2 years and there has been no change in my ability to control my ability since the day I arrived, being behind in school and being behind your class for power control I think is two different things..." Minna let an exhausted sigh escape her "Sorry I just met you and it's probably rude for me to say these things."

When the other girl introduced herself she had stopped making Minna stop as well. "I'm Minna Snow, it is nice to make your acquaintance." Minna gave another sad smile "Um... I don't want to sound rude... but are you just having a hard time in class or with the school work?" Minna cringed back a little hoping that it didn't sound offensive.
