Storm had asked again and again, and yet both Adelyn and Haru still insisted on doing something for her birthday. It was Halloween—no, on the island it was called Samhain—and there were so many other things the two of them could be doing besides spending time celebrating a birthday Storm did not particularly care about. Besides, she got a visit from the “Birthday Fairy” earlier, and wasn’t that enough? Also, why was she never warned that a “Birthday Fairy” even existed?!

Either way, even though Adelyn got to witness the Birthday Fairy shenanigans, she still insisted on popping by later. And Haru really threw her for a loop. She not only wanted to come, but cook her steaks…? Storm certainly couldn’t complain about a good steak, but there were so many other things Haru could do on that holiday. Pretty much every time Haru had associated with her, Storm was having some sort of emotional turmoil ever since the Corn Maze. Was that really who Haru wanted to spend her night with?

But they both continued to insist, so Storm worked to ensure that her new home was set up before the day approached. Initially she had moved into an apartment when she moved to the island, but when she found a small cottage in the middle of the woods being sold for cheap, Storm immediately jumped on the opportunity. It was a bit of a fixer-upper—particularly on the outside—but Storm already had her few belongings unpacked and set up inside.

Her home was as tidy as it could possible be, and now…all she could do was wait.

When Haru had first heard of where Storm was living it was slightly comical. A wolf living in the woods when there was such a large and beautiful city to be around. However her heart was elated with the scenery. It was a beautiful walk to traverse and Haru always had a sense of nature and adventure. Today's quest however was surprisingly different then what she had been doing in the recent weeks. All this running around had left her tired and bored. Thankfully she had the great fortune of meeting Storm.

The woman was very kind and carried a aura of friendship around her. Compared to the rest she had the fortune of meeting Storm really was unique. So as a show of appreciation and thanks Haru had promised her steaks. The earth food was weirder to make but her knowledge from home helped greatly. It took some pestering and an ear rub but she was finally able to convince Storm to letting her do this. A large smile came up on Haru's face. Not really one of happiness or falseness. The smile was just weirdly empty of emotion. She was going to even meet Storm's family....or at least kin. Haru had never really got to know her so tonight would be a good bonding experience.

"Maybe I can get both of them to come work for me" she pondered touching her chin with the only free hand she had. In her right hand occupied six steaks. They were expensive as hell on this island but the quality was worth it. Haru wasnt hurt for cash at the moment and Storm deserved a nice birthday. As the house came into view a small breeze passed the trees surrounding the cottage, the moon was leaving a magical glow on the trees the dancing leaves glowed brightly as she finally made her way to the front steps. Haru took it all in as she had loved to walk this islands forest. There were so many magical things to be explored and she planned to mess with it all before leaving. With a small look at her attire Haru fixed her black jeans and orange hoodie. She grinned a bit as her bust was showing. This was going to be the last time she asked Iza for help at all. Zipping up as much as she could Haru gave three simple knocks on the door waiting for a reply.

Haru wasn’t the only one in the forest heading to Storm’s cottage. Dashing through the woods, a grey wolf with a gift bag in its mouth was deftly darting through the trees. The wolf came bounding out from the bushes and slid to a halt in the clearing where Storm’s home was.

The wolf dropped the gift bag on the ground, and then they were no longer a wolf—but a girl. Granted, with wolf ears and a tail still, but a girl nonetheless. She wore Starlight Academy school uniform, which she smoothed out as best she could before picking up the gift bag.

Then she looked up, noticing someone else standing at Storm’s door. The eager girl ran over to Haru.

“Hi! Are you Haru? My name is Adelyn! It’s nice to meet you!!”

Adelyn spoke fast in her high-pitched but not unpleasant voice while her tail wagged behind her. She was so happy Storm had a friend, even if they didn’t really meet in the best of circumstances…

The door to Storm’s cottage soon opened, and there stood Storm in a white collar shirt and black slacks. She wanted to wear something a bit less casual than her usual sporty attire, though not too formal, either. Her clothing hid most of Storm’s scars that she had gained from what happened in the corn maze, but there wasn’t much she could do about the particularly large one that had gone across her left eye to her nose.

“Oh good, you’re both here. Come in,” Storm said as she stepped aside to let the two pass into her home. Adelyn had other plans though, and jumped on Storm for a hug.

“C-careful, Lyn…” Storm said, wincing a bit. “I’m still a bit sore…”

“A-ahh, sorry!” Adelyn quickly let go. Storm pat Adelyn on the head, showing her it was alright, then glanced over to Haru.

“So…welcome to my little home,” Storm said, tilting her head with a small smile. “And I see you met Adelyn already.”

When a small noise made her ears twitch Haru looked directly to the source. It was a little human girl. Well not all human as she resembled Storm's physical attributes. A werewolf it seemed. Haru peered down at the girl with a smile as she chattered on about who she was. Adelyn, the girl she heard so much about and most likely the closest person to Storm. Haru giggled a bit at the girls rather excited introduction before she gave her greeting. "My name is Haru. It is nice to meet you Adelyn." She gave a small bow before the door opened up revealing the star of the evening,Storm. Turning to her taking note of her attire. It was very strange not seeing her in something more loose.

Haru stepped inside past the jumping Adelyn and looked around the house taking note of the kitchen and dining area. Placing her bags down she continued to stare around. The place was very old fashioned and well put together for how simple it was. It gave her a small reminder of home and her old life. While Adelyn was still hugging Haru had not truly gone into the house but just past the two girls. There was a small problem she was having that was brought to her attention when visiting another person in the past. Instead she responded to Storm who was finally done being assaulted. "Its a very lovely home Storm and I see you have good taste in furniture." Haru glanced down at her feet and then back at storm. " Um, Do you allow shoes in your home. I got berated for breaking a tradition." Apparently some humans found the wearing of shoes indoors to be disrespectful. so since she has been sure to ask first.

Haru was about to regale to Storm the tale when she noticed the scar on Storm's face. She had seen it before but it brought back the memory of the cornfield. She had healed her during the fight but she wasnt able to give as much care as she wouldve liked. Haru had her own share of scars though she used her magic to cover up all of them. A small frown appeared on her face but she quickly covered it up hoping no one would notice.
