She smiled softly as his hand clung to hers.
"Thank you," she replied, trying to stay calm as he squeezed her hand. It was inane, how such a gesture could send her heart beating. She didn't even really have a heart to begin with. But, somehow, though not logically, it made perfect sense for her to be here, with the boy who had caught her eye - the
only boy to do so. The hand kiss almost sent her over the top in giggles. As it was, she tried to stifle her blush. She hoped she'd dressed correctly - a modest but fitting dress, midnight-blue, knee length. And those deathtraps called heels - how could she forget the little kitten heels (as they were supposedly called - if felt more like lion heels) - they were chomping at her achilles tendon. Nevertheless, if she was nice to look at, it was worth it - (although she would probably sneak on her trusty sneakers later.) Presently she blushed even more.
"You're too kind," she laughed, sitting down. The fact that Roland had gone out of his way to provide this wonderful picnic was proof of his kindness - ohhhh. Aswan's eyes widened as she spotted the chocolate cake sitting there. He certainly knew her well enough. She gave a knowing smirk.
"The chocolate cake is certainly tempting," she laughed.
Then Roland pulled out the flower - made of GLASS, might she add.
Oh my Lord, she was going to cry. No, wait. No, she wasn't. No crying. She was stronger - and made of more logical stuff - than that. She prrrooobably didn't notice her own moronic smiling.
"Thank you, Roland. I'm touched... Really...." It was true.
"I made you something as well, although it pales in comparison to your gifts." In her hands there suddenly appeared a thin, tiny book. On the back of it, written painstakingly in neat handwriting, was a small letter.
[BCOLOR=#543701]Dear Roland - [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#543701]Open when:[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#543701]- you're mad at me (pg. 3)[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=#543701]- you are sad about anything. (pg.5) [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#543701]- you need me for any reason at all (pg.6) [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#543701]I know it's very thin and small, but feel free to do with it as you wish. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=#543701]- A. [/BCOLOR]
Aswan looked noticeably tired, but she was still grinning.
