Xavier sighed as he polished the dark mahogany counter-top for the seventeenth time, "Oh god, I've been keeping count!" He lamented to himself as he stared wistfully at his reflection. Everything was in place, his vest and tie were immaculate, his hair was neatly cut, and the watch on his wrist cost more than some houses. Although money was exactly one of his many problems.
This shop had cost him the last of his savings, and most of his college fund. Even though the lighting and locale could be better, for how bad Xavier's money situation was, this was the best he could do.
A dark, drab building in the seedier part of town with an entrance that opened into the scenic view of the nearest back alleyway. You know, the view all five star hotels would kill for. He huffed in annoyance as he stared at his handmade "Help wanted" Flier.
"Maybe I should just hire a graphic artist." He grumbled as he stared at his crudely drawn image of a magical diagram that he had printed off some website. "Cool factor they said. Cool factor my ass." He let the flier slip from his fingers and rest on the counter top. As he gazed out across the many semi-empty shelves of his shop, he sighed once again. "I'm almost tempted to call daddy dearest and beg for my allowance back....almost." He said absentmindedly and then shuddered at the thought of being involved in such an unseemly thing. Not to mention the rest of the family would never let him live it down.
"If someone doesn't walk through that door soon, I'm closing shop and becoming a stripper." Xavier thought to himself before he let out a discontent huff and stared at the door.
