Clay's travels upon the Harmony were nearly at its end. The Harmony was nearing the Manta Carlos islands. It was the dawn of day, clouds scattered the sky. Harmony was at most a half an hour away from the port. Clay was still sleeping soundly in the cabin that was provided to him. The cabin wasn't vary luxurious. A bed, a dresser, a small window to the outside, and a small half bathroom. The Harmony wasn't the biggest ship in the sea, but she was one of the smoothest and fastest. The crew numbered around twenty-five. Mostly men but five of the crew were indeed female. They ranged from ages eighteen to sixty. The captain was about forty years old, give or take. His father had owned the Harmony before him as a commercial fisherman. That's all the captain told Clay on his journey here, he kept to himself. The food was alright and while the company was a little rough they were for the most part very nice to Clay. Romanov had paid for the entire trip, and would continue to pay for Clay's tuition.
The captain banged onto Clay's door. *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* Clay jumped at the sound. "One moment!" Clay yelled to the captain. He quickly put on a pair of shorts on the floor, as well as socks and a red shirt than he ran to the door and flung it open. The captain stood there, his imposing figure shadowed Clay from the sun.
"We're close to the islands." Said the captain in his rough voice. He sounded like he smoked cigars regularly, smelled like it too. He held up a GPS to show Clay. Clay reached out to grab it, but the captain yanked it away from Clay's hand. Clay looked at his hand, he didn't put on his gloves. The captain pointed to the tip of the ship and moved to the side to let Clay pass him. Clay bolted outside of the cabin into the warm embrace of the sun. Clay could just barely see the islands from the tip of the boat. He let out a quick sigh from wonder. He had never been out of Ohio but know he's going to a strange new island. The captain walked up behind Clay. Clay smelled him a few feet back, he had just lit a new cigar.
"Pack your things." Clay wasted no time. He ran to his room, put on his gloves, and started to pack his belongings into a orange duffel bag. When that was full he put his stuff into a yellow backpack. The final thing he put into his backpack was a picture of his family. He wouldn't be seeing them for a little while.
The Harmony docked onto a port of the island. The crew started to depart from the ship, probably for shore leave. "Well Mr. Virgo, I hope you have a pleasant stay at the islands." He stuck out his hand for Clay to shake. Clay grasped it and The captain nearly crushed it with his iron grasp. The captain departed from the Harmony as did Clay. So there Clay stood. All by himself on the docks. It suddenly hit him, he had no idea on how to get to the school. Romanov gave him no directions after getting off of the ship. Clay would just have to ask for directions. However, the people on the dock seamed to ignore him. Perhaps it was because of his timidness but everyone he asked walked right by him and payed him no attention. He must have spent at least thirty minutes trying to get directions to the school. Clay sat down on his duffel bag out of frustration. He let out a sigh and looked up at the sun, it blinded him for a second as he looked away.
