Alexiel looked back at the food. If she died, Jira wouldn't notice. She was sure of it. Why would he? She was nothing more than just an ordinary girl. Besides, if he didn't love her, then death was fine with her.

But she had to at least try to get more powerful before she gave up. Alexiel continued eating, trying to eat as quickly as she could so she wouldn't think she had eaten as much as she had.

She soon finished and her body shook as she tried to keep it all down.

"There," she said, swallowing. She felt like a pig for eating all of that.

"Good girl." Sidaj sat down. 'Now tell me about yourself. There's a boy, yes?" She asked. She hoped it would unnerve Alex, but it WAS so obvious.

Alexiel's eyes widened. How... how had this woman known? She's a witch.... that has to be it, she thought to herself. She didn't know that she was making it so obvious.

She nodded her head. "Yes," she answered quietly, looking down now. "But he won't notice me until I actually make myself worthy of his time..."

Pish posh! Sidaj wanted to say. All men are stupid and not worth your time. But she didn't. "That explains much." She said instead.

Alexiel nodded, then smiled. "He's really strong, too. And he's saved my life..." There was a silence as the young woman remembered all he had done for her. He had gotten her out of that lab, saved her from dying in the hospital, and he had stopped her from throwing up until she lost every ounce of weight he had helped her to gain.

But, the moment ended, and she sighed. "But he doesn't even see me as his equal.... I'm there all the time, I've accepted who he is... he acts like he cares but it's just so complicated and he doesn't seem to want to..."

She looked back to Sidaj. "Can you make me more powerful so he'll see me? Please?"

It was all she wanted. She just wanted him to love her... was a heart so much to ask for?

Sidaj wanted to gag. She'd only been in love once and look where that had landed her. In her mind, love was pointless, stupid and annoying.

"Yes. I'll help you." She wondered why Alex didn't just ask her to cast a spell on the ridiculous boy, but she didn't say anything. She wanted Alex to be strong enough to do her dirty work.

Sidaj felt something loosen in her ice cold heart when the girl hugged her. She hadn't been thanked for anything in a very long time. Her eyes widened. Stop being a pansy! She scolded herself.

She drew herself up to her full height. "I'll show you around first."

Alexiel nodded and hopped off of the bed. She was surprisingly very happy for once — most likely because Jira might notice her now. She smiled at the thought... everything would just be so much better when that happened!

"Alright," she said, heading to the door and opening it for the both of them. "So, how big is this place, anyway?"

"Big." Sidaj replied simply. "On this floor, there are just empty bedrooms. Mine is the one next to yours. Do not go in there if you know what is good for you." She started down the huge staircase.
