"Eh.. So fountain is.. There.. And then.. My dorm area.. Is down that path..? I hate maps."

The one speaking slowly started turning the map upside down. There were two figures, both intently staring at the map. The smaller of the two, coming up to a bit over five feet in height was a lithe boy who could easily be mistaken for a girl. He was clad in dark pants with a crimson long-sleeved shirt covering his top. His hair wild, bangs covering his green eyes while the black hair travels down halfway to his back! The other figure, however, was much taller! Standing in at roughly seven feet tall with an impressive amazonian build. It was much easier to tell this one looked female and it had remarkably similar hair to the boy's. If it wasn't for the bright green and white skin, it'd almost be like this slightly armored creature looked like a mother to the kid! Next to the two was a simple dufflebag on the floor. The kid was a new student transferring in for the school year!

There was a sudden pause before the smaller of the two shrugged. He folded up the map before slipping it into a pocket - crumpling it up to get it to stick in. "New place. Pretty interestin', eh? Quasar?" the kid asked, moving to elbow back at his companion, who only stared blankly down at him for a moment. He knew she couldn't/didn't talk. He rolled his eyes lightly for a moment, "Fancy school. Wonder how many stuck up types there are here.. Probably lots. Wouldn't be surprised." he said, talking to himself for the time being. Of course while Kris was busy thinking to himself, Quasar was glancing around the courtyard.

Sure, he might act like he hates it here. And yeah, that's partially true. But part of him is a bit happy for a new start. And part of him hopes he could find friends that he can find semi-tolerable here.

It was sometimes her mission to help out others. Sherry was a kind soul, most of the time finding her happiness through community work and making sure that everyone but herself was looked after. She huffed, scoping out anyone what seemed a bit... Out of place. To be fair, there wasn't much on the island that looked normal. There were two figures, two that looked like they really didn't care to be here, as noted by the way they treated the map. She took a breath in before she walked up in front of the shorter one; he looked less threatening. "Hello there you two! I haven't... Seen you around? Are you new?" Her gleaming smile let them know that she was there to help.

The first one that eyed her was the large figure standing behind the smaller one. It didn't seem to react to being talked to at all. Just stared. Eventually Kris's head rolled to glance to the side for a moment. Yep, there was another person there. He decided to take in her appearance before he turned to face her, hands stuffing into his pockets.

"Yeah. I'm new here." he stated as she glanced around, "Just got here today. Found out about all this weird stuff a week ago. 'name's Kris." he said, following up his words with a quick nod before he continued to glance around the courtyard. His tall friend behind him didn't introduce herself. She continued to simply stare at Sherry, not speaking at all. "Still not sure what all there is.." he spoke out to himself for a few seconds. "So everyone here is.. Special in some way, right? What can you do, redhead?" he asked. He hadn't been given her name yet, so she went with a simple nickname.

"Oh okay I wasn't sure!" She gleamed, eyeing both of the figure's though only one gave her a name. "Kris, okay. I'm glad that you're on the island, sorry if it's a bit confusing though, there is a lot." She nodded, wondering how she could help. She wanted to, she knew she could, but where did she start? She guessed that she could simply answer any questions they asked. "Well... I mean not everyone has powers but I think that everyone here is unique and special for sure." With a little hum, it stopped when he gave her a nickname. It sounded weird, icky. "I can manipulate ice. And it's Sherry."

Kris seemed to grumble out, gazing around the courtyard for a few moments before he went to stretch out lightly. "Right, right.. Sherry. The island itself wasn't too confusing. Grew up in New York, it doesn't get much more confusing than that place." he explained, bringing his hands to rest behind his head as he leaned back against the huge woman behind him, who still was choosing to remain silent.

"Ice huh? Neat." he brought a hand up to lightly pat at the woman behind him. "This is my power. Apparently she is also me. I can kinda see through her eyes and she can lift cars and shit. I named her Quasar." Kris explained with a quick nod. Well that explained why she wasn't speaking. He sighed out as he stood up straight and went to take a few steps closer to Sherry

"So.. Besides this school thing and all. Anything fun to do around here? Like there any good hang-out places or something, Sherry?"

Meanwhile a small pickup football game was going on. A 6ft 5 215 pound boy wearing black sweat pants, a ring on his finger and a gray sweatshirt that read Mustang Football 2015 State Champions had the ball " Ready! Set Go!" He dropped back with the ball cocked. He looked around and fired a beautiful pass which was caught for the winning touchdown of the game. The kid who had thrown the ball accepted his due congratulations.

Victor, for the first time in ages, was just lying on the ground admiring the world around him, in other words, he had overused his power to speed up time and he still had several hours left on a download back in his dorm room.

So there he was. overhearing a conversation, he opened an eye and looked for the origin, as one of the voices were familiar.About maybe a meter away, the voice belonged to the androgynous boy he had met at a Christmas party. He was talking to a ginger girl, that apparently could control ice.

It seemed an easy conversation, as it was just introductions, the school, and whatnot. so, against his better judgment, he decided to throw -pole vault?- himself into the conversation, and immediately hated himself for doing so.
"Manta Carlos is pretty interesting, as it holds a space station, I hear. There is also a black market area, and- why did I even come over here?"

Sherry listened to him, nodding at every word he said. This island was confusing for people who weren't used to it, that was for sure. There had been many times where she had felt like an outcast due to her lack of knowledge compared to others. She shook her head unnoticeably and smiled at him. "New York sounds nice, though. With all the flashy lights and mass amounts of people." She looked over the thing to his side, wondering exactly what it was. "That's super cool though, like some... Like an extra pair of eyes!"

She pondered for a second as she thought. "Well it really depends on what you like. I for one am content with just laying on the beach or swimming, but I do like the cold too... What are your interests?" She managed to finish before glancing at a somewhat distant football game, she didn't pay much mind to it though. Sherry jumped a bit when another person joined in. "Manta Carlos has a lot of cool places... I'm Sherry!" She extended her arm, feeling obligated to talk.

((OOC: Sorry my post for this didn't go through ;; ))

Just after he had said that, he froze time.

Why did he join the Conversation? Why did he have to say anything? Inside his head, he was panicking. Years of social anxiety had come to this.

Taking a deep breath, he concentrated on a single thought. Its done, I can't change it. Best to fix it now.

Unfreezing time, he was surprised at Sherry's reaction. She agreed with him!

Taking her hand, he shook it. "Uh, Victor. Nice to meet you. I already met Kris and um, Quasar."

"Nice to meet meet you too!" She smiled again, giving him a firm handshake. "Are you new, or newish?" She giggled, wondering what she was supposed to say; she hadn't been expecting over people. "Is there anything that you need from me?"
