A meeting with the Headmistress

Specter floated toward the door. This was, he assumed, the Headmistress's office. He looked down at his letter. The one the teacher had given him before commanding him to come here. He recalled the teacher being angry at him. He used the phrase 'almost gave me a heart attack.' This made sense: Specter was translucent, spoke without moving his mouth, and never changed his facial expression. Not only that, but he was all white (even his clothes and hair) with glowing eyes. At the moment his eyes were glowing yellow, indicating that he was nervous scared or uncertain. Unfamiliar with common courtesy, he simply walked into Headmistress Moor's office through the door. "Pardon me." He said, addressing the Headmistress. "I came to see you about this." He held up the letter, which marked him as a misbehaving student. There was, Specter felt, the possibility that he would scare her on accident.

Maria blinked when she heard a voice and looked up from the papers on her desk. The woman looked at who she assumed to be a student, not all that surprised by the appearance. She had seen stranger in her career, and in her whole lifetime.

"I came to see you about this."

"What is it?" By this time, the Headmistress had stood up and was walking toward the student. She took the letter from his hand and read it quickly. What on earth could he have done to 'almost give the teacher a heart attack'?

She looked at him, an eyebrow raised. "What'd you do?" she asked, expecting a truthful answer like she always did.

Specter shrugged, the yellow glow intensifying. "I do not believe I am at fault. I shall tell the story from my point of view and without lies. I came into class. The teacher was standing in front of me with his attention turned away toward the class. He turned around holding chalk and jumped backwards at the sight of me." The glow intensified again, becoming an extremely bright yellow. "Are there negative repercussions to my actions?" He was nervous, but his face failed to adopt a nervous expression. He didn't have any nervous habits other than the yellow glow.

"I do not believe I am at fault...."

Maria listened as he explained his side of the story. She nodded, believing him. Besides, considering what teacher had sent him here, it did make sense. She sighed, but when asked if there would be anything negative due to his actions the woman shook her head. "No. I don't believe it was your fault," she told him. She then thought for a moment, remembering that the kid had entered the room without knocking or the like.

"Wait. You entered through the door, right?" she asked, because from the way it sounded, he may have gone through the chalk board. Then again, the woman wasn't entirely sure, but that's why she was asking.

Upon hearig that no diciplinary action would take place, Specter's eyes flashed green before going blue. "That is correct. I did indeed enter the room through the chalkboard."

Chalkboard? So she had been right. The woman sighed inwardly and gave just a small, barely noticeable smile. "You have to enter through the door, kid," she told him. "That's why you scared the teacher. You can't just enter a room through any point of the room, you know." Maria wondered if he had done this purposely or if he didn't know. If he had done it on purpose then he would probably get in trouble, but if he didn't then he probably wouldn't. Then again, she had already said that nothing would happen, so she couldn't just go back on her word.

Alright, he obviously didn't know; there still wouldn't be any punishment. "It isn't proper etiquette," Maria informed him. "Besides, doors are most commonly used. People aren't accustomed to others walking through chalkboards and the like, since not all of us can walk through things." It was apparent that that was his power, since a person couldn't walk through a chalkboard or go through a door.

Specter nodded. "I understand now. Thank you miss... I apoligize. I'm afraid I don't recall your name." He stated. He would have looked embarrassed if his face would convey emotion.
