Bah! This conversation was beginning to give him a headache. It was so pointless. "I'm sure your parents are good people; I didn't say they weren't. Some people are just touchy about that sort of thing, for future reference," He said the last part gently. Even though this girl was impossible, he didn't want to seem like he was telling her how to behave or whatever.

Your methods? How foreboding. He thought sarcastically. "Okay, fine. Why am I quiet? I was raised that way." He mimiced her once more, this time without even thinking about it. "Sorry. That wasn't supposed to sound rude or anything."

They definitely needed a change in topic. And she probably wasn't going to be the one to do it. "How old are you?" He asked. It was lame, but it worked.

"I'm sure your parents are good people; I didn't say they weren't. Some people are just touchy about that sort of thing, for future reference."

An eyebrow rose when he mentioned people were touchy about that. Why would they be? Yeah, she knew some people didn't have parents or didn't have a great childhood… ooh. He was one of those people, wasn't he? No wonder he was quiet. The poor dear! Luckily, and yet oddly enough, Adelina knew how to sympathize with people. "Mmm, sorry then…?" she said, though it came out as more of a question. She wasn't exactly accustomed to apologizing.

"Okay, fine. Why am I quiet? I was raised that way."

Adelina frowned slightly, and rolled her eyes when he apologized. "You're mean, you know that?" she said. So what if she was a hypocrite? She didn't care. In her mind, she had the right to be mean to others. After all, she was smart and most importantly, her family was rich. Didn't he know who her father was? Silly boy…

"How old are you?"

Was that the best he could come up with? "Seventeen," Adelina said. At least it was a partially safe subject. "And you?"

There was basically no sense in replying to her apology, if it could even be called that, so he didn't acknowledge it, and only gave a small shrug at her next words. "Sorry, I don't intend to be rude." Distant, yes; indifferent to all life forms, maybe; but not mean.

"The same," He replied, his mind spinning to think of something else acceptable to ask. Sure, this wasn't particularly an amusing or interesting conversation, and he could probably think of something better to do with his time, but he didn't want to be rude by just letting it drop. Besides, silence was usually awkward, and if he could prevent awkward moments, he would most assuredly do so.

"Hm...so, where are you from?" Again, it was not a brilliant topic choice, but it would probably give them more to converse about than the topic of their ages had, and it was, without a doubt, better than arguing over who knows what.

"Hm...so, where are you from?"

Adelina had chosen to pay no attention to anything else he said. When he asked that, she gave him a sort of confused look; did he plan on stalking her? Well, not like he really had any reason to... but even so, it was slightly creepy. One never knows what kind of people they'll meet in this twisted world. "New York City," she answered, slightly hesitant to do so. "You?"

Becoming slightly bored, Adelina reached into her bag and unzippered one of the pockets, pulling out a shiny, white iPod and unwinding the earphones from around it. Maybe it was rude to take out a musical device during a conversation, but she didn't care. The young woman turned it on, humming softly to herself while scrolling the playlists and occasionally turning her attention toward Andrew.

Drew gave her a surprised look when she said she was from New York City. "Are you serious?" Well, obviously she was, why would she lie about something like that. "'Cause I mean, I'm from the City too. Originally, anyway. I've lived in alot of different places." He knew he was rambling, so he shut up. Besides he really didn't want to get into why he'd lived in so many different places in the first place.

"What are you listening to?" He asked, to be nice. He took out his ipod as well and began scrolling through the playlist.
