Grabbing a can of soda from one of the vending machines, Lizzy took a seat at a unoccupied table. Surprisingly, the lunch room was quiet this time of day. Not that she was complaining or anything. Less people to deal with was always a good thing.

Popping open the can, and taking a few sips, Lizzy pulled out her phone and shot a quick text to the group chat, trying to see where everyone was. Maybe they could go do something fun together in between class. Though she'd admit that her idea of "Fun" was a bit different then her friend's.

Sliding her phone back into her pocket, she took another look around the cafeteria, already planning her next big prank.

There was a brief hissing, something slithering by, but by the time Lizzy were to look she'd only distinguish the tail end of a large serpent sliding behind a flowerpot. It couldn't possibly fit there, right? There was no hole anywhere, it just... Disappeared. What was that about?! Not much farther from Lizzy, at another table, an impressively tall girl sat, sipping a steaming hot caffeinated drink, seemingly not minding the fellow student.

Lizzy heard and saw.. Something go by her. Yet, by the time she'd turned to look at who or what it was, it was gone, probably nothing. At least that's what she convinced herself. Looking over her plan a few more times. She felt confident it would work.

All it needed was a willing, or unsuspecting victim. Casting a quick look around the Lunchroom she didn't see anyone who was alone.. Wait, scratch that. There was one girl, who seemed to be sitting alone. Good, this was very good.

Heading back over to the vending machine, she grabbed another soda, and began to set her plan into motion.

Bastet gave a low yawn and continued drinking without a care in the world. Something in a large plant vase near her shuffled, a faint hissing could be heard and a pair of crimson eyes glistened in it, but soon they were gone. How did the tall girl failed to notice that?! It was so close, it was almost on her ears and just a little within her field of vision. Yet... She pretended to not see nor hear it?

After taking a moment to shake, and otherwise beat the soda can. She finally made her move, taking an open seat next the stranger, and putting on a fake smile.

"Heyyy there, saw you were alone, so I thought I'd say hi." She said, before offering Bastet the soda can, "It's yours, if ya want it." She said, shifting over by a chair to avoid any collateral damage, before waiting for the fireworks.

Bastet was already suspicious of the girl's kindness, but that smile kinda gave it away. She pretended like she'd open looking at it, but instead she took a deep breath and said "Get it, Oroichi.", tossing it upwards. From the vase, a monstrous snake made of dirt sprung out, swallowing the can in one bite, soon coiling on a seat in front of them and glaring them both, before hiccuping with a bit of foam coming out its mouth. "Urgh... Urp... I feel it going up.", it exclaimed, teary-eyed.

As soon as the snake ate the can, Lizzy visibly deflated. "Aww, you're no fun." she said, before standing up. "Well, seeing as you ruined my little joke I'm gonna go now, have fun sitting with your 'friends'. She said, holding up air quotes at friends.

With a snicker, she got up, and returned to her original table, occasionally casting a glance towards the other girl. One thing was for sure, she'd get her, eventually. Her first plan may not have worked, but that wouldn't deter her. She'd just have to get creative.

Bastet laughed and mocked "You gotta do better than that. Maybe if you were a fox you'd have a greater chance.", focusing on her friend once again. The serpent gave an upset glance at Lizzy, a pair of tears streaking down its eyes. "Was it that pre-", as she asked, the serpent opened its mouth and there was a brief soda geyser coming outta him.

Once the soda within him lost all its gas, the serpent whined "Urgh, I feel sick... That damn girl, if I were in my prime I'd curse her with a thousand nights of unrest!". Bastet sighed and patted his head, the serpent turning a more affectionate (and teary) eye to her as the orange-haired girl spoke "And that would ease your pain how? Go rest a little, Oroichi, I can handle myself.". In a reassuring nod, the serpent dove into a flower vase and vanished.

After a few minutes, Lizzy had her new plan ready. As long as that snake was around it would interfere any time she got close. So why not hang back, and let something else do all the hard work for her?

With that, she directed her attention towards the other girl, and specifically towards the other chairs at the table. Pretty soon, her eyes began to glow a orangish red as the chair the other girl was sitting on began to shake violently, as if trying to dump her out, while also beginning to attempt to move on its own.

Bastet yawned and got up. Her phone rang and she brought it out to answer. "Yes, mom. ... Mmhmm... The results came in, there was a mutation to my blood, an in-depth analysis is required. ... I'm fine, the fever and exhaustion died down completely. ... I've been thinking of replacing the cross tattoo with an Ankh. What do you think? ... Aighto, I'll be getting that done soon. ... You won that case?! Nice! So you might be coming over, eh? ... Love you too, mom...", and once she concluded that call she went to sit down back on her chair...

Only to realize the chair was gone. Before she fell on her behind, something unseen cushioned, her eyes barely peeking over the table. "That would have hurt... I'll stay like this a little while.", there was a soft hissing on the air around her as something seemed to slither... Serpents woven off of air? They didn't notice Lizz, instead just coiled behind Bastet to give her some comfort.
