A Little Fall of Rain

Sidaj frowned at the baby that was laying on the bed. "Would you stop crying already!?" She yelled. It hadn't shut up from the moment she'd kidnapped him.

The witch definitely was a few fries short of a happy meal. A few stairs short of an attic. A bubble off a plum. Nuttier than a fruitcake.

Nuts.

So she'd kidnapped an innocent child simply because it made her think of her dead son.

But he wouldn't stop crying and she was getting really fed up. And she remembered why she'd never liked babies in the first place. They were loud, obnoxious and noisy.

She looked out the window, hoping the baby's father would show up. Then she could fight the moron and kill the baby, hence making the boy's father suffer. Killing and making people suffer was fun.

The young man grabbed his brother and started running. Right now, Sabriel was a bit out of it, and Nicolas was rather ticked off. His child was missing, and his brother wasn't really doing much to help. "Sabriel, pay attention! PETER'S MISSING!" Nicolas yelled, finally pulling on Sabriel's cat-tail to make him pay attention.

Sabriel let out a yelp. "Paying attention! You didn't have to pull my tail out of its socket!"

Nicolas just muttered a few things under his breath and started running again, with his younger brother close behind. Oh, if anything happened to Peter, he would literally just die. He had already lost Mery and Odette... to lose his baby boy would just distress him past the point of no return.

As they continued on, they soon came across a castle. Getting the feeling that his child was in that castle, Nicolas opened the door and walked inside, still rather enraged.

"Who's in here?!" he yelled.

Sidaj saw them before they even reached the castle. She jumped up and did a mini(but still evil) happy dance. Not one, but TWO morons to torture! She scooped up the baby and ran out into the front hall.

"Guess you're here for the kid, eh? Seriously, you need to teach him some manners. He hasn't shut up the whole time." She said to the younger one. "How old are you anyway?" She asked, studying them both.

Sidaj gave him an 'ooohhh, I'm SOO scared' look. She smirked evily and shrugged. "If you insist." The muscles in her arms loosened and she let go of Peter completely.

Sidaj laughed as she jumped out of the way. "Oh, that's so very frightening." She said sarcastically. "Really, is that all you can do?" She drew her sword. "Die, fool..." She pointed the pointy end at Nicolas.

Sidaj cackled. "Now you're REALLy going down." She pulled back her sword, ready to stab the insolent fool. She swung it towards him.

Nicolas didn't even get out of the way. He probably should have, though, for the sword struck him in such a way that he would most likely end up dying.

Having hit him in the chest and gone through, there was probably no way he would make it through this. The sword had gotten him in the lung and in the stomach, after all.

Even if he hadn't felt it, Nicolas wound up falling to his knees, coughing up blood. His face paled and his eyes widened. His biggest fear... oh, gosh... this really wasn't a good way to go.

Sabriel's dark golden eyes went wide and he wanted so badly to run to his brother, but his feet were frozen in place. "NIKKI!!!" he yelled, falling to his knees as well. The damaged wheels in his head began turning, and the young man started crying, a breakdown on its way.
