A Light Snack

Cade was about to make his way back to his seat until Nyax gave him a rare, yet polite smile. It was also rare that Cade would show an act of kindness to someone he didn't even know. He scratched the back of his head wondering what was fascinating about her. He couldn't put his finger on it just yet. With his last response, she still could've left and that would be all.

Now that they were done with their snacks, she made a proposition to go somewhere, which is fine. But, wait....it seemed that she wants to go somewhere with him. A soft gasp emerged from his mouth as he heard this. His nerves started to gradually fade away after that. "Yes. I'd like that." he answered to her with a smile of his own.

Cade slowly started to make his way out of the cafeteria. He looked over to Nyax again, who was still smiling, surprisingly enough. Being able to get acquainted with a complete stranger was a good experience, at least Cade thought it was. He couldn't come up with an idea as to where they could possibly go together, but Nyax had an idea for him; the lake. He stopped and took a moment to think about it. It was a good idea in his mind, hence he responded "Ah, the lake....perfect." He made his way to the cafeteria door and waited patiently for her to move.

As the two made their way to the outside and through the lawn, Cade had a gut feeling that this would rarely end well. Apparently, the girl wants to know more about Cade. What exactly? He figured she'll insist on hearing anything and began to talk. "About me, umm, there's really not much to know, except that I like the outdoors, I particularly enjoy swimming. And I love to write, as you may have already seen."

While they continued to walk, Cade's hair got a little messy. He pulled a black barette out from his pocket and used it to hold his hair in the pony tail-like style that he usually had it in. He wanted to know more about Nyax as well. "How about you? What can you tell meabout yourself, Nyax?"

Cade listened to her answer and he couldn't help but realize that there was something about her that was similar to him. His hazel eyes widened in surprise as he heard....

“I like writing too”

He actually learned that he and Nyax have something in common; they love to write. This surprised him and sure enough that made his day; knowing that she enjoyed doing the same thing as he enjoyed doing. From that moment on, he was truly happy, but he tried desperately to hide that emotion. He looked at her while she hugged herself. "That's cool. I know that not everyone can be happy. Perhaps some people are better off being miserable. Who knows?"

Cade looked up to see that the two had finally arrived at the lake. It looked like the perfect place to kick back and relax. Nyax must've suspected his hidden happiness, and now she wanted to go for a swim. Oh joy! Luckily he had his black swimming trunks equipped under pants the whole time. "Do I? Just so that I won't have to carry the load...." he began to exclaim as he gestured to her backpack. "...I got them on right now." He pulled the belt off his pants, unzipped his fly, and pulled his pants down to reveal his swimming trucks. "I'm going in. Care to join me?" he proposed with a wink. He then took his shirt revealing his athletic-like upper body and the tattoo of black wings on his back, while letting his hair loose. Without hesitation, he jumped into the lake.

His hair looking like discolored seaweed, Cade backstroked on the surface of the lake. He held his breath and then dove forward under the water. Underwater he began to stroke his arms and legs gracefully to push him forward. After about two minutes of underwater adventuring, Cade rose up to the surface only to Nyax halfway into the lake.

She must have been cold. The water is cold after all. Cade wasn't fazed by the temperature of the water however. He began to perform breaststroke on the surface toward Nyax. "Hey, its not that bad, really, when you get used to it." he said, then laid back on the surface of the lake allowing himself to float.

As he continued to float, he just let the small waves take him away. After a moment he began to close his eyes, almost as if he was falling asleep. Cade eventually did close his eyes as he floated around. Where he would end up? Who knows. Suddenly Cade felt a bigger wave hitting him for some reason. It was Nyax, who went underwater and emerged at the surface next to him. Startled, he opened his eyes and got up from his floating position and into the upright position. He wiped some drops of water from his face and looked over to her. He nodded then replied. "Most fun I've had in a long time."

As he heard her response and saw her smile, he smiled back and wringed out some of the water in his hair. He watched as she descended underwater again. What was she up to, he wondered. Indeed Cade felt calm and collected, first time he felt that way in a while. He never expected her to splash water at him. Some of the water went into nose and eye, but he didn't mind. He just wanted to have some fun. "So, you want to play?" He chuckled then splashed some water right back at her.

As Nyax splashed more water him, Cade struck back with some more splashing of his own. Water got splashed on his face and eyes, temporarily blinding him. At this point, he couldn't see what Nyax tried to do next; dip him underwater and keep him there. He heard her laugh, but couldn't see her. He felt himself descend into the water. "Crap!" he exclaimed before he was pushed in, barely taking a breath prior to it. He stuggled to break free and he did, then swam away. He got back up to the surface and shook off the water dripping down his face and hair. He just smiled at her. "Are YOU having fun?"

Cade just stood where he was at as Nyax approached him. Thinking she would try to splash him again, he placed his hands on the surface of the water to splash until she dipped her head into the water. Was he having fun? She didn't have to ask. In fact it was quite obvious. He heard her ask then answered back. "Yes, as a matter of fact I am." He too dipped his own head underwater then back up. His hair wet, he flung his hair at Nyax launching some drops of water at her.
