For a second, Avian thought she saw a glow in his eyes. He must've found the topic of powers to be interesting if his eyes lit up. At least, that's what Avian assumed it was, a spark of interest.

"Mhm. This island is like a safe haven for people with powers," she said then cringed, "Especially those who have yet to control them..."

She dwelled on the thought of her powers for a few moments before forcing a grin back on her face.

"Don't worry, it wasn't silly to ask," she shook her head, taking his hand again and leading him farther into the park, "Now come on, I'll introduce you to some sparrows,"

The thought lingered in the back of his mind. What if it wasn't quite so important for him to be human here? What if they would accept that he was a very advanced AI?

No, that couldn't be right. Humans could barely handle the fact that some of them had different skin colours, let alone someone being entirely not human and from outer space. Oh no, Avian must've been mistaken.

So Yesterday followed her to be introduced to some sparrows, as she had said.

"Most of them congregate in this tree here," Avian pointed upwards to a tree that they approached.

It was filled with brown sparrows who all began to tweet at the sight of the girl. Some even fluttered from the branches to hop around on the ground that surrounded them.

"They do get a little loud, though," she giggled at their constant cries for attention, "They are very vocal birds,"

Carefully holding out her right index finger, one of the bigger sparrows landed on it, staring up at her intently with big, beady eyes. Then, she held it up to Yesterday for him to see. It stared at him in the same fashion in had Avian, but cocked its head to the side this time and made a funny call.

She was quite right. The tree was teeming with birds, these little brown and white things that hopped around with oil-drop eyes and scratchy claws. How curious. Most of them raised quite a ruckus, probably at the sight of someone they thought of as a friend.

"How interesting." He said out loud, peering at the bird who looked like it was peering back at him with equal curiousity. "May I hold it?" He wanted to get some measurements such as weight and grip strength. Were they dangerous? They didn't look like they would be.

Avian didn't see any harm in letting him hold the bird. He seemed like a gentle person, if not stoic. She held the sparrow out to his hand, nudging her finger against his palm to urge the bird on. It hopped onto his hand, lightly pecking at it a few times. Then it continued to twitch its head about, back and forth between Yesterday and Avian.

"Aren't they so cute?" she fawned over the little thing, "They may not be as colorful as the other birds on the island, but they're just as energetic,"

No sooner had the one sparrow left her hand, two others flew from the tree and landed on her shoulders. She chuckled at their constant need for attention as the tweeted in her ears.
