The entire situation was an awkward mess, two people with very different life experiences trying to relate without any idea of how the other's experience might possibly differentiate from their own.

At the very least Iesha gave him a bit of a lead on what to talk about, and Samuel nodded quickly. He didn't know for sure that the academy ran the same way as the school he was used to, but he figured it was probably mostly the same.

"Well, I haven't been to class here yet, but..." He started, taking a moment to think things over before responding. "You go to class and you sit with a bunch of other kids at your desks, and the teacher explains the lesson. Then they hand out classwork, which you're supposed to try and do on your own. Then the teacher goes over it and you check to see if you did well. Sometimes there's homework--which is work you're supposed to do at home to help you learn."

He figured that was about as good as an explanation as someone could get.

"And you have a bunch of different classes so you learn different things throughout the day," he added quickly, realizing it wasn't clear at all. "Does that help?"

Iesha cocked her head to the side but gave Samual a nod to communicate that she understood. She wasn't sure what exactly this homework was but it sounded unpleasent. Aside from the homework, everything else Samual mentioned was mentioned to her before she arrived to the dorm. Still, she felt assured that she understood what she was getting into as Samual confirmed what little she knew about. She was however uncertain what it was she was obligated to learn and Samual was not entirely clear on that subject.

"Oh, okey. I think understand... so... I will have classes... and then chores in the form of homework? I... I can do that. Ummm... yeah.... YEAH! Thats helps! Err... one more question Samuel? Err... uhhh... what... what sort of things are we suppose to be learning?"

That was... oh. Well. Samuel found himself temporarily at a loss, faced with the absolutely massive question of 'what are we supposed to be learning?'. How was he supposed to sum up all that?

"Uhm," he mumbled, clearly struggling with it. "Well... sort of... everything? I mean, you cover the basic stuffs like Math and English and History--or I guess whatever language, I don't know how it works--and then you also have specific stuff, like learning to control your powers. I haven't had any of those, though, since we didn't have them in America."

"Oh, okey... that sounds likes a lot. I guess learning English better would be good for me since most people seem to speak it... would I still have to go those Powers classes even though I don't have any powers?"

While Iesha was a supernatural creature, she never though of herself as having having any sort of powers. She is all but a normal Lamia as far as she is concerned.

"I mean... I can'd do magic... hrmmm... do you have any power classes for your... powers?"

Unfortunately, Iesha was asking a lot of questions that Samuel was woefully unprepared for.

"I... don't know," he finally said after a little while. "I never really asked, since I do have powers. Maybe they have some other class that you go to instead? I guess you'll find out when you get your schedule."

Of course, then it occured to him that he hadn't been really clear.

"I guess you might have power class to better improve your own skills that aren't... you know, human? Like I don't really have magic, but it could help me control my shapeshifting, and maybe you have something like that which you could improve?"

Really, he had less than zero idea what she was actually capable of.

Iesha took a moment to think about the things that she could improve upon though... she can't really think of anything aside from learning how to swim and learn how to read English better.

"I guess... maybe... swimming lessons?" Iesha spoke, sounding a bit uncertain if that would be applicable or not to her.

"So... uhh... ummm... you said there is a... schedule? Ummm... do you know where I can find one of those?"

Iesha bites her lower lip as she tapped her index fingers together. She appeared a bit nervous about something.

"And... a-and... uhh... uhhh... do you think... do you think you can come with me to go get it? I... I rather not be... by myself." requested Iesha as she looked out to the door that lead back to the hallway.

Samuel didn't have a much better idea then she did about what her power lessons could be. He didn't know if swimming could really be counted as something in a power lesson, but then he didn't know if it shouldn't be either.

At least he knew the answer to her second question.

"The administration wing! I already had to go to get my stuff, they should have schedules and everything for you. I can walk--uhm, slide? Slither--over with you if you want," he said, sparing a quick glance towards her distinct lack of legs. Was it still walking if only one of you had legs?

Iesha looked down at Sam's legs, finding his choice of wording odd considering he was the one who had legs out of the two of them. How would he even be able to slide with those stumps anyway? It probably wasn't too comfortable when she thought of it.

"Err... its okey. You can can walk while I slither. I... I don't think you can get very far by just sliding." mused Iesha, offering Sam a meek smile.

Iesha looked out to the door then back to Samual

"I'll... I'll be on your... your... ummm...." Iesha holds out her left hand, waving it somewhat as she tries to communicate something.

"Err... this side of you while you lead. That way... that way you wont lose sight of me!"

Iesha's smile widens, she was happy that Sam agreed to come with her as it made her feel much safer in this place that was still very much foreign to her still.

"R-ready?!"

Sam was not doing well at this whole 'clearly communicating with someone who clearly struggles with human culture' thing.

Or maybe he wasn't doing well at figuring out what he was supposed to say to someone who wasn't even human.

"My left?" He said carefully, glancing to the left before realizing that no, of course she wasn't there yet, they hadn't even left.

Stupid. Stupid and embarrassed and feeling rather lost himself.

"I'm ready," he said, despite not feeling ready at all, and he opened the door to the hallway, heading down towards the office.

@Pallas - do we want to wrap this up, or keep going?

"Y-yes! That word." stated Iesha as watched Sam look over to his left which earned him a small smile from the snake girl.

Iesha nodded her head happily and slithered out thought through the door that Samual chivalrously opened for her. As he lead on, Iesha trailed next to him on his left. While there was much for Iesha to be nervous over (classes, making friends, learning how to navigate stairs properly), she at least there was Samuel to help her out while she continues to adjust to this new life she finds herself in.

@Thoth - ((Yes, lets end it here. I think this was good introduction for Iesha and for Samuel as well. Thanks for helping me getting acclimated into this site btw ^.^ Feel free to PM me when you want to have our dorm mates interact with each other again :) ))
