Eliana surveyed the area with her hands resting on her hips. Yup, this was the perfect place to play murder. She had played the game many times as a youngster herself.

Despite its name, murder didn't actually involve anyone getting hurt. How could Eliana pass up a game called murder, though? Come on. Don't be silly.

She looked back at the little girl she had been stuck with and grinned playfully.

"So, we gonna play with knives or airsoft guns?" Eliana asked casually as if this was a totally normal activity to play with a six-year-old. As for as the demoness was aware, it was.

"Do you know the rules of murder?"

Gladys loved her big brother Klaus, but unfortunately he was busy today. Fortunately she got to play with another one of her siblings! Well, cousin technically, but that didn't concern her. One of Asmodeus' children was going to babysit her for the day, and she had something fun planned for the little girl! She was so excited that she could practically burst! The little vampire demon skipped along with Eliana into the forest where they would play. She wondered what game they would be playing out here. The six-year-old was still learning about various games. Though she didn't play the ones Quin did. She preferred being outside.

They stopped at one particular area. Her little eyes blinked and then scanned the surroundings. There were lots of trees of course, and there were probably critters roaming about somewhere. She was then asked to choose between knives or guns. This choice didn't bother the little girl at all.

"Knives!"

This was said with the same casual tone cookies or ice cream would merit. However, why not both cookies and ice cream? Now wasn't the time for food though. She wasn't really familiar with the rules of murder. The girl shook her head.

"What are they?"

Her eyes watched Eliana eagerly. She wanted to play!

Eliana looked over her shoulder and winked at Gladys, her grin somehow stretching wider.

On the ground before were two large guns and two equally large steak knives. The guns may have been fake, but the knives were not, because Eliana wasn't some pleb who went and picked up rubber or plastic knives. There was no fun in that.

When Gladys declared she wanted to play with knives, Eliana scooped them up and held one out to the girl.

"Good choice," Eli complimented. It's what she would have chosen herself, honestly.

"The rules to murder are simple," she began, "we both run off into the forest, as fast as we can as we count to ten. Then, we try to sneak around and find each other. The point of the game is to see who can murder the other first. You don't come back to life, do you? Right, we'll play the casual rules. Don't actually cut each other, just pretend to kill the other one. Got it?"

The forest was already growing dark with the impending night. Eliana glanced up into the trees and smirked. "Murder is always always always played at night because it's scarier. If you can manage to freak your target out as you "kill" them, you get extra points."

After a brief pause to let the information sink in, Eliana asked, "got all that?"

Wow, real knives! Now Gladys was really happy with her choice. She liked blades over guns really; guns were more Quin's thing. She excitedly bounced over to the weapons but realized she had to learn the rules first. Even so, her aura blazed brightly as she saw the shiny, sharp steak knives. She forced her eyesight to focus on Eliana instead of the weapons. Her fingers fidgeted as she listened to the rules of the game. So she wasn't supposed to actually stab her? Okay. They wouldn't really die though, right? Then again, dying was inconvenient. Thankfully Gladys didn't know that pain yet.

When handed the knife, the vampire demon eagerly took it and examined the knife closely. Too bad Klaus was busy! Surely he would have fun playing this too! She made sure not to touch the sharp part of the blade. It was odd seeing such a small girl run around with such a large knife. However, this was Manta Carlos. The residents of Manta Carlos did whatever they want so long as it didn't break the law. Then again there were still residents that did whatever they wanted regardless of the law anyway. She performed some practice swings with the knife to get a handle of it.

"Got it!"

The night was a better time for her anyway; she didn't have to worry about the inconvenience that was the Sun. Her vampire side made it challenging to deal with sunlight. There were no such worries at night. Perhaps this was also why she felt a lot of energy in the evening as well.

"This sounds fun, Big Sister! We should get all of our siblings next time!"

Eliana looked at Gladys like Gladys had just solved some complex equation or graduated college. She faked wiping a tear from her eye.

"Oh, oh...Yes, Lil' sissy. Yes, we should. If one of them denies us, you'll have to use your powers of adorable pouting to get them to say yes. At your age, that's the strongest power you have."

Eliana did an exaggerated little pat on the girls head.

In a tight, excited whisper, Eliana said, "now count to ten and run!"

With that, Eliana gripped her knife tighter, turned on her heel, and ran off without a glance backwards. She was a friggin' expert at this game, and no one could tell her differently.

If at all it crossed her mind that giving a six-year-old vampire-demon a steak knife was a bad idea; the thought wasn't there for long. Screw regret and everything they stood for. Restriction made things so annoying.

As she ran, Eliana caught the branch of a tree and tugged herself up into the leaves, mostly hidden from view.

Ten, she thought, and now we play the waiting game.

Considering Gladys' set of powers, it would not be difficult for her to convince the others that they should play murder. She was adorable, young, and had persuasion powers. Nothing could go wrong on that front. The little girl beamed at Eliana; her full grin showed off those cute vampiric fangs. Her black wings flapped cheerfully, but she could not fly yet with them. They needed time to grow; for now, they just offered an additional form of response. She leaned in as Eliana whispered. Her eyes widen with excitement. Her big sister didn't have to tell her twice; moment she said run, the little girl bolted.

In her little dress, she scampered into the forest with her knife and counted to ten via whisper. The girl held her weapon tightly and then hid behind a tree the moment she spoke the word "ten". She stopped and breathed in and out. Both hands held the knife tightly. The little girl felt a tinge of fear as she realized that she had no idea what to do from here. It was dark, and she had little knowledge of the forest. This could be bad...no! Eli wouldn't let anything bad happen to her, right? She'll be fine!

Speaking of Eli, now it was time to find her. The girl got off the ground and quietly crept around. She tip-toed around the trees in search of her older sister. Now where exactly was she hiding? Gladys did her best to not burst out giggling as she held the knife menacingly. Well, as menacing as a cute six-year-old could get.

Eliana remained unmoving in her tree. She held her knife close to her chest with one hand; the other hand was gripping a sturdy branch to keep herself from falling and to minimize any sound she might make.

She listened intently for Gladys. She felt more assured knowing it would be easier to spot the girl than any stealth based demon. Also, it was a six-year-old girl, how good at the game could she be?

She heard a snapping twig, but it sounded too large to be Gladys. It caught her attention, and she waited for another snap, but one didn't come.

That didn't sound good. Then, there were plenty of critters in the forest. She had the bad feeling she might hear a child cry out. Whatever, if Gladys cried she would just get the little girl some ice cream. Batabing bataboom, problem solved.

Again, another snap.
