Max warmed her cold sharp features into a smile and tried to reassure Gabe, she looked at him with melting eyes (well, at least she tried) "Gabe. I understand."

"My powers... Well my camouflage is a little more complicated than my aim. I can only blend in to the scenery if it is purely natural, so I would suck being attacked in the city because it's all urban and concrete. Concrete jungle," she laughed at her own humour even though it wasn't exactly funny, she wanted to lighten the mood up.
"Then my aim is kinda weird I guess. I have to be within a certain radius range of my bow otherwise my shot isn't as perfect. I'm a good shot without my aim but I prefer to use it, it guarantees a meal every time, unless the wind is blowing in the wrong direction so the meal can smell me," she sighed sniffing the air and turned to him watching him.

"Oh, I ..." Gabe was at a loss for words. Max was so understanding , it was so nice to experience someone like that, it was a rare characteristic, for people not to jump to conclusions. Gabe himself often jumped to conclusions, and it usually ended badly. Suddenly he came to again, drifting away from thoughts of himself.

Gabe nodded as she talked, trying to take it all in. He laughed too, not really because he found it funny but because he wanted to make her feel a little bit more comfortable talking to him. "Well I hope you don't get attacked, perhaps if you take a day out to the city I'll have to go with you to protect you."

"Not that I think you need protecting." Gabe assured her, he didn't want her thinking he was implying that she was weak or anything along those lines.

"Do you go out here much?" Max asked . He seemed to know a lot about the place so she wanted to know a little bit more. What is what like and those sorts of things. "How long have you been here?"

Max didn't take any offense to what Gabe had said, a little bit of protecting wouldn't be an opportunity to miss but then again she could look after herself, she was good at that but a little bit of security and feeling a little helpless was a nice feeling to have once in a while.

"If I'm honest, not really," Gabe laughed, "I prefer to just stay around the Starlight Academy grounds. There's really everything I could want here, my boyfriend and friends are here and they have a lot of facilities." He shrugged, "I mean sometimes if there's a specific thing I'm looking for or a place I need to go I might take a day trip but that only happens once every couple of months."

"I've been in Starlight Academy since I started college," Gabe replied, "about 4 years back or so, I've lost track." He never really thought of it that much, Starlight Academy was just a part of his life now.

"You seem so settled," Max wanted to continue what she was saying but she didn't want to on the other hand. It seemed a little rude to just say, it's like you've become Starlight Academy, the furniture. He was so calm about it all, knew it like the back of his hand, was so comfortable he could probably walk the grounds with his eyes shut, blindfolded, arms tied behind his back and in the middle of the night.

Gabe laughed and nodded,
"Yeah, I suppose you could say that." He admitted, Max had pretty much got it down to a tee. "I like it here a lot, so I don't see any problem in becoming settled." Sure, one day he'd have to leave. When he finished his degree, but perhaps he'd come back as a lecturer. He still didn't really know what he wanted to do with his life.

"Perhaps one day you will be too."

"I like to wander around, never really stayed in the same place. I fidget, fiddle, fumble. The one thing I like here is the woods and the forbidden forest out the back. I guess I could y'know spend time there," She said, slightly agreeing with Gabe. He did speak sense after all, and he took heed of the words that he spoke.

Max hadn't given a thought of what she wanted to do, let alone why she was here. She was just here. Found her way here and then it just happened. She hadn't given any in depth thought as to what she was to do here or her future.

Gabe listened attentively but he was getting restless by this stage, they weren't really talking about all that much. "I see, I see." He stood up, "do you want to go somewhere else?" He asked her," we can go to the woods, if you like? You said you liked the woods."

Max felt exactly the same Gabe was feeling, she was just talking for the sake of talking, there was no point it was just words. "If you want, I don't mind. Anywhere youwant to go?" She asked standing up and brushing any little crumbs that had winded up on her fingers somehow.
