"You would do that? For me?," she said wide eyed. She couldn't believe what she was hearing, someone wanted to know her. HALLELUJAH It was sort of like a welcoming present, she thought this was her favourite moment. She felt ecstatic; hyper even. "Wow," she breathed. She cleared her plate up, cramming the last bits of food in her mouth although she was fit to pop and felt incredibly sick, it was divine. This whole experience was amazing and she was very grateful to Gabe, to the cafeteria.

"Yeah, 'course I would," Gabe's grin widened, it was so nice to make someone that excited. He felt as though he had done something kind, even though all he had done was be friendly, as usual. "Why wouldn't I? You seem rad," he complimented. "It'd be nice to get to know you better," he smiled, "maybe sometime I'll also introduce you to my boyfriend, William. He's really nice but very shy." He nodded to himself, "you'll make friends here fast enough."

"Do you wanna head to the lake first? I always like a bit of fresh air after eating," Gabe told Max.

"The lake sounds nice thank you. William is indebted to you. And if he has as good looks as you then you are a cute couple. It's cute," Max nervously said. She didn't know what to say or how to say it, so she slightly stuttered a bit.
Gabe was incredibly friendly and Max was thankful, the kindness was impeccable. First time meeting someone and they so happened to be friendly and nice compared to all the villains she could sense traipsing around the place.
"I have doubts about that," she said shyly. "I'm not the most pleasant of people. I can be a bit hostile at times," she refused bluntly, ignoring the compliment that Gabe had so politely given her.

"It's really pretty there, especially at this time of year," Gabe nodded and then paused for a moment, "I think it'll be frozen now actually." It had snowed heavily recently and the temperature had dropped by loads. "It's nice when it's frozen, people ice skate on it sometimes." He glanced at Max, "have you ever gone ice-skating?" He'd been shocked to find out a lot of people had never been, he'd thought it was an experience everyone had until he'd been talking to William about it.

"Why would he be indebted to me?" Gabe tilted his head, confused. He didn't think William owed him anything, it wasn't as if the boy had to pay him back for loving him. He shrugged, maybe Max wasn't trying to imply that at all. "But thank you," Gabe smiled, "a lot of people tell me that we're a cute couple actually." He laughed, he supposed they must be if everyone was saying so.

"Well," Gabe shrugged, "perhaps not." He tapped his foot, "you didn't seem hostile at all to me, and I've only met you for the first time today." He grinned at her, "don't put yourself down before giving yourself a chance. You never know what'll happen if you just try." He met Max's eyes, he didn't think she had been unpleasant at all, if she could be like this with him she didn't see what was stopping her from being like it with other people.

"I don't think I have, not that I remember. Lakes are pretty but you need the water, right? Isn't here rigged up to using the water from the lake or something. I don't know," she said bashfully loosening from Gabe's eyes, feeling like she had made a fool of herself.

"I can understand why people think you and Gabe are cute, yo querría que," she prayed this was right. He was attractive, just a little too clean for her and very soft featured. Cute and perfect but she could see that he was gay, he had that air about him and she loved it a lot. It was a nice feeling about it, he wasn't pretentious about it. Not like some people could be, and thought they were better than everyone else, but he, he was very reserve about. Wasn't the one to brag... not about this subject anyway.

"I struggle though Gabe. I really do. I'm nervous. I can't do it. You're nice enough but no one else will. I'm weird and hostile, I feel it in my bones. Too much air... I guess," she sucked in her breath and tried not to cry but it was hard. She didn't want to appear weak, especially on the first day, that would not make a good first impression in front of the other students that she had not met yet. Judging her.

"I'll take you sometime," Gabe told her. "You have to try it, it is so fun! It's somethin' you wouldn't forget if you've done." He smiled, "we'll have to go now, oh brilliant I've been wanting to go for a while!" Gabe was really excited to bring Max ice-skating, it was hard to contain that excitement.

"No," Gabe shrugged, "there is water underneath the ice, it's just not visible." It's why you had to be very careful about what part of the lake you skated on. He thought he could explain all that to Max another time though, now she was talking about other things.

Gabe laughed,
"I am Gabe though," he stuck out his tongue. He presumed she had meant him and William but whatever. Gabe wasn't sure how to respond to that though so he quickly moved the subject on.

"Why would you struggle?" Gabe asked, his tone was not harsh, merely curious. "William's a nervous sort too, he'd understand if you seemed a little shy." Gabe assured her, "you would like him, trust me." It seemed what Max needed to do, was trust in herself not just trust in Gabe. "Are you okay?" His voice was gentle. He had gotten better at sensing when people were upset since he had met William.

"Hmmm? Yeah I'm fine," she cocked her head slightly looking at him, "Yeah, I meant William." She felt herself blush a bit at the mistake. She itched her head loosely, curling her fingers into her hair and pulling threads out before blinking a couple of times "He might not like me, your William. I don't think he'd be quite so fond of me as you might think. What's he like? Y'know background and stuff. Is there a reason why he's so nervous and shy or is he just naturally like that." In her mind this one word was ringing round and round, but it was way too harsh and she fought the fight to hold it back.Weak.'Don't say that! Don't you dare!' She cursed herself. If that was to slip out, that would hurt the both of them. More Gabe; but her even so.

"I'm glad," Gabe answered. He thought she may be lying but he knew not to push the subject. If Max felt comfortable, she would tell him in her own time. He nodded, "yeah, I guessed that's what you meant." He laughed softly, not unkindly, but just to lighten the mood.

"Well, I don't know about that." Gabe frowned a little, "I mean, I can't speak for William, but he isn't one to dislike people who are genuinely nice." Maybe she had something in her past that he could find out by reading into her thoughts? Maybe she was afraid of that? But then again Max didn't even know William was a mind reader so...

"I'm not exactly sure how much of his background I can share with you Max, I'm sorry. It's not that I don't trust you, but things like that are kinda private you Know?" Gabe bit his lip. It seemed to him that William hadn't been treated nicely by his peers or family growing up and perhaps that was why he was shy, but also perhaps it was just part of his personality. "Personality maybe?" Was all he said out loud.

"It's fine Gabe, honestly. I don't want to intrude. Some things are better kept..." she paused, "y'know, secret." She wasn't hurt or offended, she kind of understood. She was basically a stranger to them, especially William so it was understandable for Gabe not being able to say. One thing Gabe did let slip though was that, William obviously didn't have a very goo background, not one that was share-able anyway.

"So...?," she thought. "What powers do you have, I guess?" She wasn't sure what to ask so that was her best shot. She had heard many people from around here talk about the strengths and weaknesses about powers and so guessed that everyone had to have at least one to get into here, which was interesting because she wanted to know like in the real world if everyone was different, and unique.

"I don't know," Gabe shrugged. "I suppose some things are, but there's other things that you should open up to people about, you've just gotta be careful who that person you open up to is." A ghost of a frown crossed his expression, "This is a little different, it's something that I was trusted with. I don't have a right to share it with anybody else, I'm sorry." Gabe bit his lip, he didn't want to seem like he didn't trust her, it wasn't that , it wasn't personal.

"My powers?" Gabe smiled. "It's a little bit complex." He may have been exaggerating a tiny bit. "One of them is omnilingualism, it means I pick up on new languages really fast. I may have mentioned that earlier?" He shrugged, he had bad memory on things like that. Seen as he didn't put much thought into his speech.

"The other is a little bit more complicated. It's element manipulation. I can manipulate electricity. Only problem is it's a very strong power and I don't really have a good reign on it. It's hard to control." He laughed a little, "it's annoying sometimes, I wish I understood it better." He hoped she wouldn't use this information against him.

"What about you, Max?" Gabe grinned, he had shared enough about himself for the moment.
