"It's really pretty there, especially at this time of year," Gabe nodded and then paused for a moment, "I think it'll be frozen now actually." It had snowed heavily recently and the temperature had dropped by loads. "It's nice when it's frozen, people ice skate on it sometimes." He glanced at Max, "have you ever gone ice-skating?" He'd been shocked to find out a lot of people had never been, he'd thought it was an experience everyone had until he'd been talking to William about it.
"Why would he be indebted to me?" Gabe tilted his head, confused. He didn't think William owed him anything, it wasn't as if the boy had to pay him back for loving him. He shrugged, maybe Max wasn't trying to imply that at all. "But thank you," Gabe smiled, "a lot of people tell me that we're a cute couple actually." He laughed, he supposed they must be if everyone was saying so.
"Well," Gabe shrugged, "perhaps not." He tapped his foot, "you didn't seem hostile at all to me, and I've only met you for the first time today." He grinned at her, "don't put yourself down before giving yourself a chance. You never know what'll happen if you just try." He met Max's eyes, he didn't think she had been unpleasant at all, if she could be like this with him she didn't see what was stopping her from being like it with other people.
