Event Private Finished A Few Gifts by the Fountain

Aura tucked the partially wrapped book under her arm in a paltry attempt at hiding it from sight. There weren't too many people passing by but it felt like holding that book put some sort of spotlight on her.

Still she managed to shake the girl's hand and gave her a smile, "I'm glad you like them. I don't have many people to give gifts to here so..." She had trailed off as Evie's eyes widened. Aura was concerned she had done something wrong but couldn't see where she could have.

Then came the comments and flirty wink with giggling. The girl's face had mostly returned to normal with only a faint remnant of the blush from embarrassing remaining. Now though, her full face went reddish pink and she looked down. Unable to make eye contact. "Um.. I... um I don't know. I have a few friends," she managed to blurt out while shifting her feet. Logically she knew the girl had to be trying to do this on purpose but that didn't really help

Finally she sighed and sat down on the snowy ledge around the fountain without thinking about it. "Sorry, um I'm just not used to any of that kind of stuff...," she admitted and then glanced down at one of the images on the book peeking out through one of the tears in the wrapping paper. "...Or that."

Evie continued to giggle to herself until she heard Aura sigh and sit down. Ok, maaaaaybe she should lay off a little. She was certainly having fun watching her get flustered, but she didn't want to make the other girl feel bad or anything.

"Ahhh, don't worry about it. I'm just joking around, its no biggie." She said waving a hand dismissively. She considered for a moment sitting down next to Aura, but then decided against it. The fountain looked cold, she didn't wanna freeze her butt.

Stepping around her, Evie stood in front of Aura, bending leaning forward so that her face was eye level with the older girl.

"But really, this is the sorta thing that you only get used to by exposure, y'know what I mean?" She continued with a lazy smile. "Like, I wasn't exactly the lean mean flirting machine you see before you today when I first got here."

Evie had always flirted around for shits and giggles, but most of the time she got ignored. It wasn't until she came to the island that people actually started flirting back. It was pretty easy to turn the tables and get her all flustered in return until she got used to it.

"Trust me, you'll get used to it." She gave Aura a gentle thump on the shoulder, partly as a casual friendly gesture and partly to make sure she was paying attention to her. "You just gotta learn to relax a little... Plus, I bet exploring some more lascivious stuff will help out in the meantime."

She added the last part with a mischevious smirk, nodding her head to the book before winking again.

Aura would probably regret sitting where she was later- melted snow on the seat of her pants would be embarrassing and annoying. But for the moment she didn't care. She was plenty warm, and she even felt warmer than usual with the teasing going on making her blush.

Aura lifted her head back up to have her eye meet Evie's as the girl moved around in front of her again. "Um, I don't think you're wrong really. I do need more experience with a lot of things here," she admitted with a reluctant nod. At the moment she felt a little like she wasn't the adult there. Here they were just exchanging gifts and a few jokes were all it took to make her look like a fool.

"Thank you for trying to help...," she started and then had to pause because of course she did. Aura glanced down at the book and back up at Evie. "Um, if you ever want to borrow the book you can..." Of course that confirmed for sure that she was keeping it. While it would probably not be proudly displayed on her bookshelf she had decided she wasn't going to get rid of it. Maybe it would help her loosen up a little to investigate things she wouldn't normally read about or do.

"Anyways... I think i'm glad I got you as a secret santa partner Evie. Even with all the...." she trailed off and just made a vague gesture at the end. At herself, at Evie and at the book. All of it.

Once Aura offered to lend her the book, Evie started giggling again. She put her hand to her chin, scratching an imaginary beard as she made a show of thinking about it.

"Hmm, maybe I'll ask you about it later. I’ll let you figure out if it’s as good as people say first~.” She shrugged, winking at her again. It sounded like Aura wasn’t going to throw it out, that meant the joke gift was an acceptable actual gift as well. Evie considered that a success.

“Aww! I’m glad to hear that!” She stood up straight, smiling at her. “I’m happy with you as my partner as well! I was kinda worried I’d get someone boring, but you seem real nice. And fun!”

Evie still didn’t really care all that much about the secret santa exchange itself, but Aura had been a fun distraction after a series of very boring days. So, for that alone, Evie was happy with how today turned out.

“Speaking of fun, as much as I’d like to stay and chat, I think I gotta start making plans.”

She reached into the bag again, pressing the button on the fart machine, causing another childish giggle to come out of her as she listened to the artificial fart. It was such a stupid thing to find funny, but that’s precisely why she thought it was funny.

“It was nice meeting you Aura! I’m sure we’ll be seeing each other again sometime.”

Evie began to walk backwards, facing Aura still, before turning around, and shooting her one last look over her shoulder, flirty grin back on her face.

“Seeya around hot stuff!”

And with that, she gave her a wave, before starting to head out of the courtyard.

Aura smiled as Evie said she was nice and fun, her wolfish canines becoming visible with her grin. "You're pretty nice and fun too. Have fun with your gifts Evie," she replied happily. With her own little giggle at the fake fart sound. Maybe she should have looked into extra batteries for that... oh well.

"See you-," she cut off as her face went back to pink. She knew the girl hadn't really meant it like that, but it didn't matter- that's all it took to make her blush again. Aura looked away to fidget with the mostly wrapped adult book as she waved back.

Then, finally remembering where she had sat down, Aura jumped up with a quiet squeak. The snow had melted underneath her and her pants were starting to get soaked. She wasn't cold but that was going to be uncomfortable so she ran off towards the dorms to change. Clutching her new book close to her chest to keep from revealing it too much to passersby.
