A Day to Remember

Evangeline woke up expecting it to be cold outside, but she was shocked to see that it was almost seventy degrees(F). What was with the weather these days? It couldn't make up its mind. Evangeline picked out a light blue sundress to wear, with matching shoes and put on minimal makeup. Her hair was down in its golden waves as usual.

She thought it would be a great day for a picnic, so she packed a sheet, things for sandwiches, some other snacks, and some drinks. Hopefully Kiyana wouldn't mind.

She finished getting everything ready, threw a sketchbook and some pencils in her bag, and made her way to Kiyana's. She found herself excited to see her, even though she had just seen her yesterday. It didn't take long for her to get there, and with that she placed the things down for a moment and knocked on her Kiyana's door.

Yawning loudly as she rubbed her eyes, she then blinked rapidly as she became aware of her surroundings. Shit, oh no!" She blurted out to herself, quickly scrambling out of her bed. She had slept in, on the day she was supposed to get up early due to her meeting with her new found friend. "What time is it even?" She didn't even think to check, but considering she hadn't heard any knocks on her door, she still had some time. Slipping on some light brown leggings and a black wavy mini skirt over them, she slipped on a plain black t-shirt to complete her look. "I'm so bad." She really did feel bad for waking up so late, as she most likely looked like a mess. A mess that had just woken up.

Grumbling to herself, she quickly braided her hair into one big braid on her left side. Quickly putting on some perfume, she sniffed the air around her for a few seconds as she sprayed the perfume around her, wanting to make sure she got the right amount on her. Taking a piece of gum and plopping it into her mouth, she rubbed her eyes once more before grabbing her black leather jacket, slipping on her black boots before jumping at the sound of knocking at her door. "Oh!" She smiled to herself, as she quickly moved to the door, unlocked it and swung it open to find her friend. "Hey." A smile as well as a light blush crossed her face, embarrassed that she may look bad.

Evangeline was waiting a few seconds before Her new friend opened the door, hopefully she hadn't woken he up. When Kiyana opened the door, there was a sleepy smile on her face, and her face had a light blush on it. It made Evangeline smile too. "Hey!" She may not have woken her up, but she could tell her friend had just woken up recently. Her sleepy look wasn't a bad look though, it made Evangeline smile to herself all the more.

She motioned to the stuff she had brought with her, "I thought we could go to the ocean, and have a picnic, if that's okay?" She paused, hoping Kiyana wouldn't be upset. "It seems to be such a beautiful day, that the idea seemed to good to pass up. Sound okay?" Evangeline put on a hopeful smile.

Smiling a bit bigger as Evangline greeted her, she quickly put her hands behind her and listened to what she had to say. It seemed that she wanted to go to the ocean and have a picnic. Looking over at her hands, she was most likely carrying everything that a picnic needed. As Evangline waited for her response,
she quickly moved closer to the girl, grabbing the handle of the door and shutting the door behind her. Blinking a few times at Evangline, she whipped around and locked her door before turning back towards her. "A picnic sounds awesome. Great idea!"

Evangeline was relieved that Kiyana seemed to like the idea. She was afraid she'd think it was dumb, but she was afraid for no reason.

As they were walking, Evangeline stopped in her path. What was the fastest way to the ocean? She felt heat rush to her face. She figured Kiyana would understand though.

"What is the fastest way to the ocean?"

She gave an embarrassed smile, and began to slowly walk again.

As she walked beside her friend as they handed to their picnic place, she stretched her arms out in front of her, and then above her, groaning softly as she let her arm muscles loosen. It was a beautiful day, and even though they had only stepped a few metres away from her door, she was already excited to see what that day would have. Dropping her arms to her sides violently as Evangline looked her way, it was as if it was a crime to stretch, as if Kiyana stretching was a bad thing. This was just a theory in her mind though, and she planned to keep it that way. "I would have to say..... By plane, in the sky where you can just go in a straight line with little to no obstructions." She said confidently as a big smile crossed her face. "Though, we don't have a plane, at least I don't so that's not an option." She stopped walking as she noticed that Evangline had stopped and than continued a slower walking pace.

"Maybe underground then? Have a nice secret tunnel from my front door to the ocean, for secret midnight swims." She started to walk again, keeping the same pace as her friend. A small giggle escaped her at the silly idea. "But then again, that wouldn't work either, as I wouldn't have the strength or patience to build such a good tunnel." Looking at Evangline, her smile faded lightly as she tried to be serious. "I don't think it matters really. Whatever way works, because if it's short than we get to eat and enjoy the view. If it's long than we get to talk more and look around."

Evangeline laughed at her friends ideas, all in good ways thou. She didn't laugh because they were stupid, she actually enjoyed hearing them. To Evangeline the day had already started out good. Considering this is only the second day she has known Kiyana she didn't find it awkward like she would if it had been someone else.

"Yeah! That is true, it's nice to have some time to talk. I mean not that we won't talk once we get there." Evangeline seemed to ramble on, and that wasn't like her. "I look forward to seeing the view, I haven't been to the ocean yet. Also I plan to do some sketching, it's one of my many hobbies I seem to have. I've picked many up over the years." She paused. "What about you, what do you like to do?"

Smiling widely as her friend laughed, she could tell that the girl wasn't laughing at her. Her weird rambling about different routes to the beach must have been interesting for Evangeline, or at least she hoped that. "Hobbies are good yeah." She said quietly as her friend finished. "Me? Well I really don't know exactly, I don't find all that much to..... be a hobby for me. I guess I like to do weird and exciting things?" She was being bland, but she really couldn't think of much to say as a hobby.

Evangeline listened as Kiyana talked, hmm weird and exciting things? She was very curious as to what she meant. She walked a few moments before replying to her friend.

"What sort of weird and exciting things?"

She looked to her friend and raised an eyebrow.

"I'm really just curious is all, no judgement." Evangeline gave a sincere smile. "Maybe I would find these things exciting as well?"

Thinking for a moment, she had never really thought as to if others would find what she did to be fun or exciting. She just did what she did because she wanted to. "I, I don't know really. Would you find walking around and acting weird to be fun? Or to be dramatic at a college level?" She gave the girl a smile, seeing if these things would even interest her. "I mean that's what I do and I just, I like it." She wasn't sure how to explain it.
