The thing is she could see her new friend doing as she had just told her. But she saw it in the best way.

"That's actually great, it's no wonder you seem so..happy." Yes happy was the word Evangeline was looking for. Her friend seemed so carefree and Evangeline well she was the opposite. A frown covered her face for a moment.

Deciding not to get on that topic Evangeline looked ahead and noticed the beach in view.

"Look!"

Watching her friend closely as her face expressions changed from brooding to sad, she wondered what the girl was thinking about, but didn't want to ask as she didn't want to raise any past memories for her. Glancing ahead slowly, she smiled happily as the ocean was in view. "Woah." She added to the girls words with excitement. Happy that they finally made it in the view of the beach, she looked at the girl beside her with a burst of happiness as she bounded forward. "Well, I'll race you there!" She said with a short laugh as she started to run towards the ocean front .

(Sorry it took so long)

She smiled at the mention of Kiyana saying "woah".

"The ocean is pretty breathtaking, huh?"

She was interrupted by a happy "I'll race you there!"

Evangeline watched in shock, What. and then a smile lit her face completely as she ran after her friend laughing.

"Kiyana you get back here!"

Of course, Kiyana had beat Evangeline there, but she was in no way bitter about it, Evangeline only laughed shaking her head.

"It's such a wonderful day for a picnic! Shall we?" Evangeline took out a blanket and spread it out on the sand., and motioned for Kiyana to sit.

Looking back as she got closer and closer to the sea, she wondered if her friend had herd her in time. She felt a bit bad to be so ahead of her friend, but after a few seconds, she smiled at the girl that was coming closer to her. "It's beautiful." She said to herself quietly as she heard her friend approach her from behind. Turning around, she nodded at the girl and moved away a few feet to give the girl enough room to lay down the blanket. She then sat on the blanket across from her friend, smiling at her lightly. "I'm happy that we are doing this."

"I'm glad we are too." Evangeline smiled warmly to her friend. She sat on the blanket and got comfortable and opened that basket and took out two plates, handing one to Kiyana, and put one in front of herself. Then she took out all the sandwich stuff and other snacks. She had brought ham, turkey, peanut butter, jelly, some veggies, and strawberries, and chips.

"I wasn't a hundred percent certain what you liked for sandwiches so I just brought a majority of things." She laughed eyeing all the food she had brought.

She took a little bit of ham and put it on a sandwich and grabbed some strawberries and a veggies and put it on her plate.

"I brought a sketch pad, but I really don't think I'll use it. Hmm.. Maybe we could play a game of some sort or just go swimming?"

It was a lovely day for swimming.

Looking down at the basket as her friend took out its contents, she was surprised at the variety the girl had brought. She looked up at Evangeline and then back down at the food, waiting for her friend to take what she wanted before she did. "Thanks." She said softly as she grabbed herself a plate and started to put on veggies and strawberries. Touching each one with her bare fingers, she felt energized even touching them, which probably looked weird to Evangline considering she had now cracked a smile while looking at her food. "Swimming..... I haven't gone swimming in a long time." She said looking down at her plate still, grabbing a strawberry and plopping it into her mouth, as a rush of energy and alertness flowed through her. It was as if that single strawberry had the punch of 3 espressos, with extra sugar. Blinking a few times as she then shifted her view towards her friend, she rubbed her nose gently before speaking. "Do you want to do swimming?" She asked blandly.

It made Evangeline happy to see Kiyana so eagerly get her food. As she did, Evangeline took a bite of her sandwich and looked towards the water. It was beginning to get really warm, how had she just noticed?

She listened as her friend said she hadn't been swimming in a long time, and now that's Evangeline thought about it she hadn't either.

"Hmm... I haven't either. But I've never actually swam in the ocean before, have you?"

It made her nervous because she didn't like going in water where she couldn't see her feet. You'd think she would have grown out of that fear, but she hasn't. She began to eat a bit quicker, without really realizing it.

"Wait.." Evangeline didn't think of it until now. "What will we even swim in?" She looked down to see herself in her clothes.

Thinking back as she took small bites, she wasn't sure exactly when the last time she had swam, not that it mattered. All that was important is that she remembered how to swim, or otherwise she'd need a hunky lifeguard to save her, and she didn't want that. "An ocean....? I think when I was super young, maybe. I guess it was so long ago that I don;t even know if it was real or a dream. Strange." She wasn't one to like deep water though, but she tolerated it, or at least she thought she did. She didn't even now if she had ever known anyone that did like deep water. 'Maybe some water biologist', she thought, though that didn't sound right to her. Looking down at her clothes, she blinked as her friend had brought up a good point. "Our clothes? Or our underwear, unless you want to just...." She dropped the thought before saying it, as a long blush crossed her face. That wasn't something that people just did.
