Aedan walked through halls, he felt good, he'd managed to get some sleep, it was as if his nightmares had decided to take a break. He even looked less disheveled that usual, his black hair was coumbed, and he wore his better looking shirt and jeans. He still wore his sunglasses, he knew that Nia actually likes his eyes, but he still wasn't sure about the others.

Yesterday had been a good day, him and Nia had connected in a way he'd never connected with anyone before. And though he was very much looking forward to today, he was a bit nervous. He wasn't always the most fun person to be around, but he wanted to help this girl, he wanted to do that more than anything.

He entered the section of dorms where Nia's room should be. He checked the paper to make sure he was right. He followed the hall until he found it. He knocked on her door, a genuine smile on his face and waited patiently.

Nia had a room to herself. Due to her ability, she had been allowed to continue having a single for the whole year. She wasn't sure if that was going to change once high school started but for now she had the space to herself.

Which was probably for the best because Nia was a disaster. The room had no decorations of any sort and even the one bed that did had sheets on it looked like something from a military camp. It appeared that Nia had zero concept of how things like a closet and a drawers worked because everything she owned was strew across the room. Not that she really owned much. There was one pair of sandals and another pair of boots for the winter that sat near the closet but clearly just thrown there haphazardly. The clothes she owned (a few dresses, her school uniform, a winter coat, a light weight jacket, a singular pair of pants and one long sleeve shirt) were all strewn about the room in a similar fashion.

The only things that appeared to have any order to them were the stacks upon stacks of books that filled the space. Each stack was at least seven books tall and some looked like they were pushing twenty books and about to topple over. There were also notebooks throughout the room, some near piles of books and some just laying open on the bed. Pens were also scattered about.

Nia had spent the whole day in her room, reading and taking notes. She had started taking notes when her memory lapses started getting really bad. She would move a book to her "read and ready to return" pile, only to find that she couldn't remember reading it. Taking notes saved her from wasting time reading the same book over and over again only to remember none of it. She wrote down anything interesting or important.

She was in the midst of a reading a book about sea creatures when a knock came suddenly at the door. The poor girl nearly jumped out of her bed in shock and immediately her right shoulder began to twitch and her hands started trembling. She took a couple deep breathes trying to calm them and her nerves before standing and heading to the door.

She pulled it back and peeked her head out to see Aedan. A smile lit up her face and the trembling in her hands began to subside though her shoulder continued to twitch.

"Hi!" She said in a small, excited voice as she pulled the door open all the way so she could step out from behind the door and closer to her new friend.

Aedan smiled and pulled his sunglasses off, "hello Nia, it's really good to see you again." He brought his hands together and formed an entire bouquet of ionic flowers and handed it to her, "not as pretty as your smile but I know you like them," and he meant every word, her smile made him happier than any therepy session could.

He remembered that she had memory problems so he decided to approach it as if he's just now asking her, "there's a nice music and hobby shop in town, I need new music sheets for my violin and thought you'd like to go with me. Maybe get a little something to eat after if your up to it." He knew she was worried about her abilities activating in public so he'd understand if she wasn't up to going to a restaurant, "or we could grab something and eat here when we get back." He gave her one of his once rare happy smiles.

Nia took the flowers, giggling as they began to dissipate in her hands. "Yes...I do love your flowers." She said blushing slightly. Being around Aedan made her feel honestly joyful, and that wasn't something she had felt since arriving here.

Nia looked up and nodded with a smile, "I wanna go to the music shop. I want to hear you play your violin." Food would probably also be good but listening to music would be way more fun. They could always figure that out once they were hungry. Nia had remembered to eat breakfast this morning so she was more than ready for a day of adventuring.

Aedan nodded and showed her his violin case, "I'll play all you want and maybe we'll find something in the shop you'll want to try, lots of hobby items."

He smiled, "I got us a cab to take us to town, we'll have it all day so we can go anywhere else you want as well. Do you need to do anything before we leave?"

At the sight of the case, a big smile lit up on Nia's face. She couldn't wait!

"Um..." She thought to herself glancing back at her room. "Oh! I guess I need shoes..." She said looking down at her bare feet. The girl usually roamed around barefoot but she figured that being in the city it might be a good idea to have some foot protection. She ran into her room and grabbed her sandals. She sat down, pulling them on her feet and velcroed them on.

She stood, walked out of the room, shut the door and locked it with the key that hung from her necklace. She turned to Aedan, "I also have to check out with Makara so he knows where I am going."

Aedan chuckled and nodded as Nia got her sandals giving her a big smile, "yea I'd hate for your feet to get sore."

He nodded as she explained the need to talk to her dorm mother, "no problem the story isn't going anywhere." He smiled and chuckled again. "We better go find her."

Nia couldn't image in her feet getting sore. Her feet were actually very calloused from not wearing shoes most of the time. She was mostly worried about glass and things.

She giggle a bit, "Makara is he but yeah. We should find him."

She turned walking down the hall to his room. If he was in the door would be open. If he wasn't in then she could always call on him with her bracelet but that would be a bit of a waste especially since she could end up needing it when she was out in the city.

Thankfully, the door was cracked open. Nia knocked softly and waited for a response.

Makara was in his room when there was a knock at the door, a book cradled in his lap. Not an appropriate book by any metric, but a book for children, the absolute most basic writing he could find.

When someone knocked at the door, he hurriedly shoved it under the mattress, getting up and heading towards his little office at the front of the room before pulling the door open.

He was pleasantly surprised to find Nia outside, accompanied by a much older boy. The boy was easily a foot taller than him, but considering Makara's short stature, it wasn't exactly anything uncommon.

He decided to ignore the taller boy for a moment, focusing instead on Nia herself.

"It's been a few days, Nia. What can I do for you?" Hopefully everything was alright, because Makara didn't like the idea of her having to come visit because of another impending vision. The less stress she was experiencing, the better.

Nia smiled at Makara as he opened the door. It wasn't her usual soft and reserved smile but one of genuine excitement. She couldn't wait to share her reason for stopping by!

"Hi Makara!" She chirped. She turned slightly, gesturing to the tall boy behind her, "This is Aedan. I met him yesterday at counseling. We were going to go into the city today to visit the music store and hobby shops. I know I have to check with you first tho so...is that okay?"

She was slightly nervous that for some reason this wouldn't be okay. But she couldn't imagine why it would be any kind of a problem. This was her friend after all. Her first friend!
