Nia obviously seemed excited for something, and Makara had a few ideas as to what. It was the first time she'd brought someone to the door like this, and she seemed pleased at the idea of going out on the town with someone.

"Of course." He didn't see any real issue with her going out on the town with friends, and he paused to glance at the clock, counting off the hours.

"Try and be back before nine, alright? I understand if you want to eat dinner in town, but you should be back before it gets too dark," he explained, giving the boy she was with a pointed 'get her back before nine' look.

"Thank you for keeping me in the loop, though. If you have any trouble, you have my bracelet, yes?"

Nia nodded. She wouldn't want to be out past nine. She didn't like the nighttime very much. It made her very anxious. Something about not being able to see things...

"Okay Makara!" Nia said trying to contain her excitement in her small voice which was clearly bubbling over with joy. It was quite out of the ordinary for her to want to go out and do things. She had spent over a year on the island and had done nothing but go to the things she had to go to (class, therapy, etc.), read (either in the library or, more recently, her room), and occasionally go for a walk in the garden. Friends hadn't really been a thing and leaving the school had definitely not been a thing.

She held up her wrist to show that her bracelet was securely around her wrist, "As always." She didn't dare leave her room without it; the silver chain was literally her life line.

Seeing her do so well made him happy. She was like a little flower, blossoming right in front of him. She was growing up, and Makara was happy to get the chance to see her do so.

For the first time, Makara glanced towards the boy with her, giving him a pleasant enough smile before bowing in his direction. Unusual for a teacher, but not at all unusual in Cambodia.

"Please take good care of her," He said, letting them leave on their own before he returned to his own work.

Aedan nodded back to Makara. It was good to see that there was someone keeping an eye on Mia. He wouldn't always be there, but he'd help every time he could. He smiled at Mia, "he seemed nice."

He stepped beside her with a smile, "so we all set?" He was excited like her, he liked playing for people even though he rarely did. "No hurry though, tge shop owner will keep the practice room open for us."

He smiled, he wanted to help this girl, far more than he wanted to help himself.

Nia nodded in agreement. "Makara is very nice. He is my favorite person." That wasn't a very fair statement though given that Nia only really knew two people; Makara and now Aedan. It was like saying, my favorite person is the only person I really know. But then again, he was the one who was always there whenever she had a vision. He took care of her and for that she was eternally grateful.

She nodded, "Yup! I am ready to go!" She said beaming at Aedan. She couldn't wait for their day of adventure!

He smiled and nodded, this was going to be fun, and it would be good for both of them. He placed the violin across one shoulder and checked his watch, "the cab should be here soon."

"Nia...thanks. You wanting to listen to my violin means a lot to me," he gestured down the hall, "let's get moving." He walked glancing back to make sure she followed. As he did he remembered something his father had told him, something about life being a journey with choices and roads. He smiled at Nia, knowing the road they were going down would be one that was good for both of them.
