When he sat, Scarlet sat also. Since he had moved as he spoke, she didn't see quite what he said. Um...what did you say? She felt embarrassed for not being able to tell what he had said, but tried to cover it.
He smiled slightly when she asked what he said. "I noticed that you were.... unable to hear, happens to a lot of people, I even have a younger brother who can't hear, then a cousin who is blind." He said then shrugged, then repeated what he had said before. "I simply said 'I'm hurt, in a way, but nothing can cure it, it has something to do with my power'"He said, recalling what he had said.
Even though he had noticed she was deaf, Scarlet didn't feel comfortable using her voice, so she still spoke with her mind. Very perceptive. And... She paused. I'm sorry. That must be... She didn't finish her thought.
"Don't be sorry... I just wish I didn't have this... weakness in my power, but, can't change it." He said, shrugging sightly. He looked over the girl a moment, then ran a hand through his hair, then looked over into the forest. "Why are you out? Couldn't sleep also?"
