"I'm not always like this. My life before this school was like a nightmare come true. I've been humiliiated and dissed all the time. So I tend to retaliate in this manner. Over the years I've learned to take things more seriously. People tell me to lighten up and just chill out. I'm not willing to open up so easily. I can't risk befriending people while running the risk of being put down again. Its just me."

Delilah listened to Cade explain why he was such a jerk, and could partially understand where he was coming form, since the same thing went on with her own brother, kid of. But the difference between Shell and Cade was that Shell didn't let it affect him, and still befriended others. Cade was just a coward. She watched him turn around and stare off into the distance and she looked over in the same direction, and said, "Poor, troubled Cade, give me a break. How do you expect to meet others and befriend them if you won't even take that risk? You're not just a jerk, you're a coward."

If there was any way to possibly describe Cade in just one word, "coward" would not be the right answer. As arrogant as he was most of the time, any little remark would probably set him off. Irritated by that comment, Cade looked at over at the girl with the same serious face he always had. Eyes now luminating a bright red, mainly showing a sign of his primary ability more than anything. If anything other than that, he was ticked. That sharp tongue of his ready to slice through her like a knife through butter, but sadly enough he would have to refrain. "A coward is someone who shows timidity and fear of something. 'You are scared of people.' Is that what you're saying to me? I do not fear people nor will I ever. So, I would advise you to get your terminology straightened up." With that, he looked back out into the distance, those hazel eyes now burning red, almost literally.

Delilah bit her tongue and glared at Cade, about ready to sock him right in the jaw. She was really getting sick of him treating and talking to her as if she had no idea about anything. No wonder he was a cowardly loner who everyone ignored. "Oh, I'm sorry," Delilah said sarcastically, "But last time I checked, being a sad anti-social jerk because you are too afraid of taking the small risk to befriend someone because you're afraid of being put down was being a coward." She snarled at Cade with utter disgust. Even though his eyes glared a really bright red, she rolled her eyes at it, as if she was supposed to get scared or something, please. Shell would do that trick way to often back home.

Delilah turned away from Cade and dug her fingernails into the palms of her hands, furious as heck.

"I think you are missing the point. They say never judge a book by it's cover. You do not know me at all. And I did say I won't open up easily. And I also did say I'm not always like this. But I guess that's how much you listen. Again, get your facts straight." He wouldn't even bother looking at her now. He sat at the roof's edge, knees brought up to his chest, eyes reverting to the natural hazel. He would conjure his wings if he were to fall."Ah, what does it matter to me anyway? I'm more of an dork than anything and I know better than anyone how much of a dork I am. I am shunned because of it. I honestly don't care what people say or think about me half the time. I don't know, its just the way I am. If that is what you think, then, whatever."

"You also said that you can't risk befriending people because there's a risk you might get put down. And I'm not judging you by what I see, I'm judging you by what you've told me." Delilah was still furious with Cade, not even bothering to look at him because he wasn't worth it. And why was she still standing there was completely unknown to her.

"Ah, what does it matter to me anyway? I'm more of an dork than anything and I know better than anyone how much of a dork I am. I am shunned because of it. I honestly don't care what people say or think about me half the time. I don't know, its just the way I am. If that is what you think, then, whatever."

"Ugh, you are so pathetic!" She was just about to explode from annoyance, but instead, Delilah took a few deep breaths before continuing. "You think you're shunned because you're a dork? That is the lamest excuse I have ever heard. Do you think I care if I'm a dork? Or what people think about me? No! There are people who like me because I'm such a dork. Because it makes me different, not just some other girl in the crowd. You're the way you are because you want to be, not because of other people."
