A Cool Breeze, Good Time to Spread My Wings

October, a lowly wingman's favorite time of the year. The wondrous season of autumn is among the populated academy. This normally meant a few things, the obvious change in weather, and classes starting up again, that was if you were student or teacher here. In general knowledge, autumn was a season of change. The trees and leaves had now taken on hues of red, orange, and even yellow. Temperatures were now gradually declining. But none of this seemed to matter to a certain individual. He had drastically long, light brown hair in a pony tail, shining hazel eyes, and wore a simple white long sleeved shirt and black jeans. He had a chain with crossbones strapped onto the belt loops of the jeans. With that, Cade was often comfortable.

He wandered about endlessly through the halls, through the streets, and through the halls again, isolating himself from any crowds. He preferred it that way, since every encounter he would have with any person would result in some kind of predicament most of the time. That truly annoyed Cade, but it wasn't like there was anything he could do about it anyway, though he is highly capable of defending himself. At any rate, his endeavors had soon led him back to the rooftop. He had a few good memories up here. He often came here to work on his flying skills, which he now has highly improved upon. For that, he was happy for a change. He opted to take a breather up there and there he stood, alone as usual, gazing into the horizon.

"Hmm...I wonder...is anyone else up here...?"

Shenendoah shifted slightly when she heard someone talking. She shut her book and pulled her black sweater tighter around her. She moved over slightly. She studied the teenage boy silently for a moment before standing up.

"I'm here. Obviously." She said with a shrug.

Delilah, the girl full of energy, couldn't remain still. Usually she could keep control of herself and stop fidgeting but she just couldn't today. She was so completely restless that it wasn't even funny. She tried losing some of her energy by doing extremely energetic things like running and jumping and practicing her power, but the energy just wouldn't go away. Now, she was bored of trying to wear out her energy that she just decided to walk around the school and do basically nothing.

Currently she found herself at the top of the school, bordering the rooftop, simply walking around the edge, keeping balance and tuning everyone out to relax. After a few circles around, she noticed a girl nearby reading a book, but she shrugged and ignored her. She was after all reading a book, and most likely hate to be disturbed. Then a boy appeared on the rooftop, and this one spoke, asking if anyone else was around. The girl reading the book said yes, and then Delilah decided to show herself as well, turning to face the boy and girl, while still standing on the edge of the roof, she waved one hand up in the air and said in a strangely loud, happy tone, "Oh, oh! I am! Me too!"

Cade's ears pricked upon the voice of not one, but two feminine voices nearby. So he wasn't the only one here. Just great, yet another inevitable predicament that he would put himself into without even knowing it. But hey, maybe this wouldn't be a bad thing for him. Upon hearing the first voice, he turned his head into that direction to see a girl. She had a book with her, and Cade hasn't recalled her from some point in the past, so in his eyes she was a new face. Oh well. "So, I'm not the only one...oh well." With that, he took a seat on the edge on the roof. If he were to fall, he could easily spread his wings. Practice seemed to make perfect after all.

Upon hearing the second voice, a loud one at that, Cade turned his head again to see another girl, this one seemed awfully familiar. He tilted his head as he mentally reminisced on the first he saw her. He got into another one of those predicaments back in the forest, with her and two others. He wondered what the other two he met back there were up to these days. Oh well. "Delilah, right? Fancy seeing you here." he said with a straight face.

"So, I'm not the only one...oh well."

Delilah placed a hand on her hip and slanted towards one side, tilting her head in the same direction, her long raven black hair tumbling over her shoulders. "What? Don't you want company?" She gave a coy smile and fiddled with the ruffles of her light blue skirt while still keeping her eyes locked on the boy, though on occasion switching the girl with the book.

"Delilah, right? Fancy seeing you here."

The girl cocked her head to the opposite side and stared at the boy more intensely, trying hard to figure out where they had met. He obviously knew her, but form where? She looked at his hair for a moment, vaguely remembering the long brown hair of a boy she'd met somewhere around nature. The memory was fuzzy, but she did recall three people in the forest and one had that ucky brown hair she was never really fond of. Delilah took a few steps closer to the boy, leaned forward, one hand still on her hip while the other she began to tap her index finger over her chin, as if in deep thought. "Yes, it is...um...wait I know this...it was something girly like Jamie or Angel...um..Kai-no..Ca-Cadey!" When she finally remembered, she gave a quick small jump in the air, and smiled a big toothy smile. What a dork.

Cade just continued to look at her, a cold expression on his face as always as she smiled. He simply shrugged at her comment about the company as he sat there lifelessly. "Considering I'm always alone, I guess it wouldn't hurt." Company normally didn't bother him at all unless you were to press the wrong buttons. In reality, he has somewhat mellowed during his time here. He couldn't help it much, too much inspiration perhaps.

Girly? Cadey? Now that really caught his eyes, well, rather his ears. Never has anyone called him that before and never did he like it when people couldn't remember his name; it often made him feel as if he wasn't really important in life. This often saddened him, but he knew he would have to suck it up sooner or later. What was with that anyway? He simply shook his head at this in utter disgust then looked at her again. "It's just Cade. Nothing more, nothing less. It's actually a common English boy's name, but I doubt you'd know that though."

"Considering I'm always alone, I guess it wouldn't hurt."

Delilah stared at Cade, wondering what was running through his mind. He looked so dead when she really thought about it. "Well, why are you always alone?" Perhaps he was one of those anti-social guys who walked alone around the campus all day and hardly ever said a word to anyone, or maybe he wasn't, but then why else would he be alone all the time?

"It's just Cade. Nothing more, nothing less. It's actually a common English boy's name, but I doubt you'd know that though."

The siren glared at the winged boy standing before her. What was his problem? Right off the bat he had to be rude. Delilah scowled at him and said, "Okay, fine, Cade but there was no reason for you to go off and insinuate that I'm some sort of bimbo, jerk."

As to why he was almost always alone could probably be guessed. He was used to being the outcast he always was, and probably still is. If that were the case, well, he just didn't seem to care anymore. That much about him hasn't changed a bit. He wasn't necessarily anti-social, then again he didn't talk much out of turn or out of character. "I...don't know really." His expression, as serious as it ever was, had not altered after the girl's reaction. "I know more than anybody how much of a jerk I am. You don't have to remind me." He in fact was a jerk half the time. That was clearly an issue he needed to resolve with himself. Oh well.

"I...don't know really."

Delilah studied Cade, the was he had just spoken and all. His expression was dead serious, like it always was every time she saw him, but for some strange reason, Delilah almost felt compelled to be nice to him, but she had no idea why, he was in fact,a jerk. And jerks don't deserve the respect of others, in her opinion anyway.

"I know more than anybody how much of a jerk I am. You don't have to remind me."

The girl rolled her eyes quickly and looked towards Cade. "Well the more you act like a jerk to others, the more people are going to remind you." Delilah gave a small sigh and crossed her arms over her chest, leaning over to one side, putting all her weight on her right leg, still staring right at Cade.

"I'm not always like this. My life before this school was like a nightmare come true. I've been humiliiated and dissed all the time. So I tend to retaliate in this manner. Over the years I've learned to take things more seriously. People tell me to lighten up and just chill out. I'm not willing to open up so easily. I can't risk befriending people while running the risk of being put down again." He got up from the edge of the roof and turned around. There he was looking into the distance. "Its just me." Poor guy.
