Pallavi just stared at the numbers, any fascination she had with this device previously melted away. As she stared at those numbers, she found herself incapable of accepting them as the truth: the truth that 80 years have passed since she was in this been trapped in this forest. That... that can't be right now... can? No it can't it just... it just can't because if its really been 80 years then that must mean-

"No... no noo noo no. That can't be right... that can't be right..." bemoaned Pallavi, reeling back her body while she shook her head from side to side in disbelief.

"It... hasn't f-felt that long! A-and I don't look... 80 years old... so... so your c-calendar has to be wrong yes? B-because if you say i-its 2018 then.... then..." trailed off Pallavi, incapable to accepting that 80 years for her truly passed.

"I'm sorry, but it has to be true." Elisa tried to comfort her. "My phone, stuff like this has existed for years now, if you have never seen it..."

"Um, it's not that big a deal, though!" She said abruptly. Pallavi couldn't be upset. "A lot of students at my school are older than 100 years. You just look young for your age, that's it."

She was quiet for a bit. "So, um. You must have been alone for a while. Do you have questions? For what the future is like, I mean?"

Pallavi felt sick and she could feel the color draining from her face. All she could do was to shake her head in disbelief... terrified of the thought that somehow a hundred years slipped past her. But what terrified her the most was that everything she had hoped to return to: her friends, her parents, her teachers... everyone and everything she had hoped to one day see again was now gone and forever out of her reach. What... what did she even have left to hope to go back to if that really was the case! And... and all of those people whom she killed... all in the name for survival... all of those lives she realized where suddenly wasted by her...

"Oh gosh... everyone I hoped to go back to.... oh gosh golly no noo NOOO!" shrieked out Pallavi, hyperventilating as shakes her head vigorously from side to side "No no no! Dad! Dad wasss supose to b-back by now! Mom... my friends.... I... I don't... feel so good... I-I can't think... "

As Pallavi despairs at her situation, large roots dig out form the soil like wriggling snakes. Around Eli, ribs ancient creatures emerge from the ground as the begin to surround Eli like jaws ready to snap close.

Seeing her panic, Elisa stood there, trying to comfort her, but was spoken over. "Its okay... Pallavi... I can..."

Once she felt the ground shake, Elisa did something risky. Dodging the trapping Ribs, She jumped to Pallavi, covering her in a hug. "Hush." She said softly."Elisa is here."

As she was doing so, she broke a promise she never thought she would and used the Emotional manipulation ability she recently gained in the tournament. Pallavi would now feel extremely happy, at least in Elisa's arms.

Pallavi was too lost in woe and panicto notice Elisa. Nor was she aware of her own roots system reaching out to strike out at her. All her mind could focus on was the fact that a lifetime has passed and that she was all alone... so very alone. At least until she felt arms wrap suddenly wrap around her and in that moment her wails of tears transformed into laughter. It went against all logic that she would be feeling happy at time like this but... when the girl came up and hugged her... somehow it all felt better.

"Ha... haa ha... ha ha haa ah! S-sorry I... I don't know why I'm laughing! I s-should be said but... t-thanks. Thanks for being here." feeling much better, she wrapped her arms tightly around Elisa while the roots and bones that where reaching out to Elisa recede back into the soil below.

"Oh, gods that worked." She breathed a sigh of relief, not letting go of the girl. A hug after a terrifying experience felt good. "It's fine. Just happy to help."

Elisa knew that Pallavi only had a few minutes until this wore off, but it felt more than enough. Holding her tightly with one hand, she gently patted her head with the other. "I know it sucks, but believe me it gets better. If you want, I can be there to help you."

She sighed again, though this one was more sadness. This girl would be alone. her family would be gone, and most of the people on the island would consider her a stranger. Elisa crouched down to be eye height with the girl. "This probably sounds stupid, but if you want, You can treat me like an older sister, or younger."

That idea sounded bad, but if the girl lost her entire family, then Elisa was willing to step in.

"You can? That... yeah... yeah I like your help!" gasped Pallavi, finding herself inexplicably happy for some reason. She couldn't explain why but something about Elisa made her feel... full of life and joy!

"Ssister?!" laughed Pallavi, caught a bit off guard by Eli's proposal but... it wasn't something she was entirely against. "I... dunno but... maybe? I'll think about it. Sorry I'm not really used to this."

It was true, she was deprived of physical attention of others for so long that it felt... weird to have someone wanting to take care of her. Maybe that is why she felt so happy around Elisa?

"I guess... if you don't mind staying her a bit longer... ummm... can you tell me a bit about yourself?"

"You don't have to answer now." Elisa said. her magic had altered the girl's mind, and while she would suggest ideas, Pallavi shouldn't make such choices until later.

In truth, Elisa was actually feeling kind of conflicted. The girl was emotionally distraught, and she had just removed the ability to feel anything but a single emotion. Was this even a good thing?

When asked to talk about herself, Elisa didn't know what to say. "Um, well. I suppose there is something really important I have to tell you." She started. "I um, I- I'm a student at the academy."

Elisa couldn't say it.

Pallavi craned her head a little, curious of what was the important thing that Elisa wish to share. When it was revealed that Elisa as student from the academy, Pallavi found the news enlightening though somewhat expected

"Oh the academy!? I used to go there there too! One day I would like to go back but I guess... you can tell me all about it! Unless you rather not, then that is fine too though... since your from the academy... maybe you can help me with letting me about what is currently going on at the school?" suggested Pallavi, sounding quite eager to learn what else has since she last heard of Starlight Academy.

"Oh, you did?" She was amazed. This was a real senior student. "What was it like then?"

Elisa felt like she was gossiping, but this was amazing. "Well, you asked first, so I'll tell you. This race, or species, or spirits appeared, and they gave people amazing powers. I can now move really fast because of it!"
