The Bean Scene is a small coffee-shop close to the pier. On first glance, it's not really anything special, an average brick building with a few flowerboxes out front.
Inside, the floor generally has a light dusting of sand, the entire building having a beach theme. There are a few large picnic tables in the center of the room, large solid wood. Made of Mahogany! A few beach chairs are around the edges, small tables in between them.
The back wall is dominated by a counter with a large glass case built in. The case has a variety of muffins and pastries in it, each with a small sign that has the price. Behind the counter are a couple coffee machines, and other such devices. There's a small blackboard on the counter, which the special for the day is written on.
In one corner of the shop, there's a stage. A few fake palm trees line the edges, lights set up above. This is where the weekly poetry readings go on, anyone who wants to is welcome to come and read. Sometimes the stage will have live music, but those events are less common than poetry.
