> Hal Dionne.

Maybe he should have thought this through.

Hal stood awkwardly in the middle of the crowd, quietly rethinking his decision of inviting Claire out to go the festival with him. Not entirely the idea of coming to the event, of course. He was sure Claire was excited to go and he'd be happy to actually go to an event with someone he could call a friend.

But he was thinking maybe he should have arranged his plans better. He'd told her to meet in front of Everything Nice but he never anticipated that there was a crowd he'd have to stand in the middle of. It wasn't the best spot to be in, he'd admit.

He pulled the collar of his shirt a little, feeling suffocated by it even though it was pretty loose. He was just really fidgety but only kept still, keeping his hands in his pockets, occasionally rocking on his heels and kicking dirt as he waited for his friend.

He wishes Claire gets here sooner.

She was late. Not too late, but late enough that the sun was burning high in the sky, people circling her which made it hard to know which way she was supposed to go. She was supposed to meet Hal around the area that she was, but sadly she wasn't that tall enough to see around people. Pushing was always an option, which is what she decided to do. "Get out of my way!" She almost screamed at people that were so clueless to her. They stared her down, most of them moving out of the way for her raging self. Getting pushed my someone behind her, she nearly fell over due to the push, growling as she pulled herself upright once again, glancing back to see if she could punch the person who had pushed her. To her disbelief, there was nothing but people that were clueless to her. "Seriously..." She muttered to herself as she pushed forward, smiling happily to see that the sign she was looking for was only a few steps in front of her.

Sprinting away from everyone, she was a lot more joyful when the tapped the structure with her index finger, spinning around to see if her friend was near her. First Claire looked to the left, nothing, then to the right, which gave her a clear view of him. Walking over to him, she stayed as quiet as possible, wanting to scare him. when she was completely behind him, she agilely pounced on him, laughing hysterically as she backed away a few steps from him. "Hey there, you looked awful lonely, are you waiting for someone?" She asked him playfully with a smile on her face.

It was easy to say that Hal was not expecting to be greeted by Claire outside of suddenly appearing out of the sea of people, waving, and maybe running towards him. But expectations didn't always meet with reality so as soon as Hal felt contact, a yelp escaped his mouth. He'd have been embarrassed about it but Claire knew him enough already to know how easily startled he got.

Hal puffed his cheeks a little before speaking, "Yeah, I'm waiting for mother nature to drag the sun down and stop torturing me," he said plainly, turning around to face Claire with a pout on his face. After then, his expression softened to smile. "Glad you could make it, Claire," he said, fixing himself a little from the mess, and dusting off non-existent dirt here and there. "So are you hungry or do you wanna go around and check the groups playing along the street first?"

The screech that came from her friend was loud enough and high pitched enough to make everyone at the fair stop in their tracks but it seemed that no one did. Only a few people bothered to even look in their direction, and after seeing that they were both 'kids', they continued, as if they were ashamed to see such a thing.

To his first comment, all she did was nod to him, as she thought that it was also rather hot. She wished that it was raining or storming, as considering her powers, they would have a lot more fun if there were less people to bother them. "Thanks for inviting me, such a gentleman." Claire responded to him, adding even more after he was done talking. "I guess it depends on what they are playing, and what they are serving. Why don't we just head in a direction and find out?" Feeling as if she sounded a bit bossy, she stopped her bickering there. Smiling at him, she had one more, stupid question that she wanted to ask him, not that it mattered to her. "SO did you call me here because you wanted to go on a date with me? AM I that amazing?" She was mostly doing this to see him blush, as she found him cute when he blushed.

Hal couldn't stop the faint blush to show on his face when a couple of people turned to look in their direction. He would have been fine but getting unwanted attention often made him a bit uncomfortable. But since he was the one who couldn't help himself from screaming, it was true enough that he'd it upon himself.

Hal just gave a thoughtful nod at her response to his question. Truth be told, he hasn't gone to a festival with anyone so he was never sure if he should just go with his own pace or go with Claire's own plans.

When he turned to Claire, Hal did his best to keep himself composed and calm, pretending the earlier reaction never happened. It would have been easy; or at least, it should have been. Alas, Claire knew how to go around when it came to teasing him.

"SO did you call me here because you wanted to go on a date with me? AM I that amazing?"

Hal was out of luck because with the sun high up, there was no hiding the blush on his face. "D-don't get any ideas! I-it's not a date!" he said instinctively. His face only seemed to get a little redder after he said that. Hal turned his gaze aside, "I-I mean... It's... it's not that kind of date," he added, almost hesitantly.

Trying to brush off the comment he turned his back on Claire to keep her from seeing his face. He'd known her long enough to know she was enjoying this. "A-anyway, l-let's start from here then?" he said, nodding towards the direction he was facing.

Smiling as he blushed to her question, she listened carefully to his response. It seemed that no, it wasn't date, which in a way made Claire a lot happier than she had expected. She knew how to get under his skin, to make him feel unconformable. Even though he knew this trick, it seemed as if he didn't ind all that much, as if he expected her to do it.

"I'm just playing with you, but of course I'm guessing you knew that." She said with confidence, as she quickly walked beside him. "Everyone will think that anyways." She said under her breath as she looked to her side to look at Hal. "Are you ready blushie?" She giggled softly as she started to walk slowly.

Hal turned to look at Claire came her response. His cheeks were puffed up, along with a childish pout. Hal knew enough that there was no point in doing that though.

True, he knew that they both had an unspoken understanding that they didn't have that kind of relationship to begin with. They were just hanging out like good friends usually do. Still, the idea wasn't hard to shake off — after all, Hal was the kind of person who always did worry about appearances. "Yeah, I guess you're right," Hal replied, in defeat. Even if they did deny it, people would think they were out on a date anyway.

Hearing the nickname her earned, the blush that had almost faded resurfaced again, though this time, he made no such effort to hide it anymore. "O-of course, I am--!" he sputtered out, walking after her. The stalls ahead of them had mostly been food stalls, while every now and then was a solo performance. The first couple of performers that they passed were mostly just idly playing — none of which caught his ear, but he'd occasionally glance at Claire to see if she was remotely interested.

"This part seems pretty laid-back," he muttered aloud. Realizing so, he turned to Claire for a response as they kept walking.

People nowadays, were either ignorant or judgmental. By the look of it, Claire hoped that no one would care to ask them if they were on a date, or to give them weird looks for not. It wasn't that uncommon for two friends to be walking at a festival together, but then again, it wasn't that hard to get the wrong idea. As she heard Hal's stuttered response, she didn't need to look back to know that he was blushing. As she walked, she glanced to her sides occasionally, when they passed a food cart that smelled good, or a few notes of music that made her want to listen. Hearing his comment, she turned her head towards him. "It seems so." She said with little emotion, flipping her hair to her back. "I wasn't expecting it to be chaotic though, and I'm glad that it isn't." She said with a light giggle. "I would just go to a fountain and cover everyone with water so they would go back to normal if that was the case." She replied to him, letting a small smirk across her lips as she turned her head forward again.

Nope. Claire was not remotely interested in any of the stalls. Not like he was anyway. He wasn't even particularly hungry to even care for food this early so he just chose to follow behind his companion, letting out a soft chuckle at her joke. "Way to rain on a parade, then," he said in response, a soft scoff escaping from mouth when she turned to him. For the most part, he was really just trying to play it cool.

As Claire began to walk again, Hal followed after, his eyes still staying about, "I'm guessing it would be a little livelier later though," he mused aloud as he still tried to look around him. Maybe something could still catch his attention. Alright, honestly speaking, there were a few that did catch his attention. There were food stalls and every now and then there was one that was selling cakes and pastries and yes, of course it would catch his attention. But he told himself he was going to go with whatever Claire would go for.

But that wasn't doing very much, wasn't it. Hal let out a quiet sigh, before stepping a little ways ahead of her, walking a little sideways-backwards as he talked to her."Hey, Claire, since I think there won't be much performances yet, want to go get a snack or something?" he asked, though it sounded more of an invitation than an offer.

"That's funny, blushie." She said with a giggle as she continued to gaze aimlessly into the distance. It felt kind of strange that they had not stopped at one place yet, even though they had already passed so many, rather interesting shops. It also seemed that the overall vibe was, laid back. Yes, there were some overexcited lovebirds every so often, but most of the people there were just enjoying the walk and the sights. There was no single main attraction that everyone was crowding around to look at, which made choosing something a bit more interesting. To be honest, Claire was a bit nervous. She wanted to check out some of the booths, but she also didn't want to be the only one having fun. Because of Hal, Claire was becoming less self-centered.

"That's true, we did get here at an awkward time." She agreed with a short nod. "I mean if we can't find anything interesting to do then we can leave and just hang out?" She said with a bright smile, liking the idea of Hal getting re-acquainted with her wolves.

When he walked in front of her, she found it really cute for some reason. She blushed lightly, but she put her hand up to cover it from him. "Yeah." She said blandly as she lowered her hand slowly. "Did you have something in mind?"
