Today had been a relatively nice day.
When Amphios rolled out of bed and squirmed into his loose pants and long sleeved shirt, sliding his hat carefully over his horns to hide them, he figured today would just be a normal day with normal things happening. Maybe he would post a vine or two, maybe he would meet someone new and nice. Maybe he would ace the final he was worried about. He was expecting so many things but today had not gone the way he'd liked.
He'd gone to all his classes, taken all his tests and he felt like he hadn't done poorly on any of them. Talking to one of his friends about a vine idea he'd had that would be pretty editing intensive had lead him to an epiphany that he would bring up with his professor later that week, and the cafeteria was serving his favorite--taco salad--for lunch.
Really, he couldn't think of any way the day could go wrong!
As his back met the hard concrete wall and all the breath was stolen from his lungs, he remarked that so many days seemed to end up like this.
"You wanna run that buy me again?" Said the person holding him by the neck, who's arm had he pressed hard against the stone wall. Small pinpricks of tears appeared at the corners of his eyes and he blinked furiously to keep them from falling.
"...You can't just... take... people's... mone--ACK!"
Another slam against the wall. So many days seemed to end up with him pinned or punched by other people.
"And what are you gonna do about it, weak-ass?"
