==> Tucker

The weather seemed to be in favor for Tucker today. The sun was shining but not all too bright to be harsh, the sky was a little cloudy but it was nothing to be concerned about and the shade the establishments offered were perfect. The day had begun splendidly and the afternoon was just right.

He had met with his 'daughter' earlier and was satisfied to hear that Tamara had not caused any trouble as of yet and her condition seemed to be fine. He'd have to help her find a body soon though because his spell isn't going to last forever.

Nonetheless, the day had been great. He'd found himself a job at the academy to make his "vacation" still productive. It would probably help him in his studies too. There were a lot of students in Starlight and all of them were unique.

Tucker was looking forward to spending the rest of the year in Manta Carlos. He was sure going to love it here.

It would be too bad if something came up to ruin everything.

Mikhainon was having a pretty... eventful vacation so far.

He had barely been in Manta Carlos for a month, and he ended up meeting his biological daughter, opened up a Night Club and played some of his games with the residents. Today, he was taking it slow. His tarot cards told him a chance of fate would be greeting him in the afternoon.

As usual, the cards didn't lie.

Mikhainon's breath hitched when he caught sight of Takeru while sitting at a cafe Downtown. Aside from the modern clothes and a new hairstyle, he hadn't changed a bit.

Takeru's memory haunted him for centuries. It was a ghost he couldn't let lie. He left an impression that burned into his mind — the hefty price, the bitter defeat. Oftentimes, he would dream of them meeting again, and what were the chances that they would meet here, of all places?

Manta Carlos seemed to be a place where miracles happened.

A waiter dropped off a cup of Earl Grey tea at his table.

Before Tucker could claim he didn't order it, the waiter pointed at where Mikhainon was sitting. "Courtesy of the gentleman over there."

Tucker's gaze was elsewhere and he was deep in thought. He'd known he couldn't expect anything from his stay at Manta Carlos — the island was quite unpredictable, as he heard from rumors.

He was more or less bracing himself for large-scale events or destiny-changing sorts but he never expected a cup of tea settling on his table.

Before Tucker was even able to speak, the waiter had gestured towards the man in the other table. A smile made its way to Tucker's lips as he nodded at the waiter before they left. The man at the other table didn't look half-bad, he thought. In fact, he was quite attractive.

Tucker rose from his seat and made his way to Mikhainon's table with the cup of hot tea in his hands. "I don't usually get free drinks from strangers. I usually do that." he said jokingly as he took the seat across Mikhainon.

"I don't suppose you're from around here or are you here on vacation?" He said coolly, completely unaware that the man before him was the curse he'd been avoiding for the past centuries of his life.

People change when they meet someone from their past. Mikhainon wasn't Gabriel when he met Takeru. He was Yuki Nakimura, the sickly youngest son of the bar owner that gave Takeru a cup of hot tea centuries ago.

He gave Takeru a gentle smile that contrasted harshly with his sharp, devilish features.

"There's always room for firsts," he said. "I'm here on vacation, for the most part. So are you, I'm guessing. Are you taking a break from your studies?"

The smile Mikhainon gave Tucker didn't so much surprise him. He'd seen a lot of people who'd acted completely different from how they appear. It was no surprise that a handsomely devilish man like Mikhainon would be a little more gentle than he appears.

But what made Tucker a little wary was what he said next.

'Are you taking a break from your studies?'

He sounded all too sure. As if he knew already who he was. Then again, he might have been someone Tucker knew. There were quite a handful of people who knew Tucker well enough to know that he had been studying magic all his life. Shape shifters, immortals, parasites, and the like. But Tucker was already trying to figure out who this man could be.

"I wouldn't really say 'first'." he contested, "I suppose you could say I am on a break from my studies."

Tucker took a sip from his tea, "It's a bit surprising. You seem to know my line of work. Should I know you?" he said. Tucker made his voice light but sharp enough for Mikhainon to know he wasn't taking any person from his past too lightly.

Mikhainon rested his cheek on his hand, looking at Takeru with a smile that soon grew predatory. He wondered if he was always the wary type, or if he developed it through the centuries. The impression they left on each other was, in fact, not a great one.

He took a sip of his coffee. He was a coffee man. He took it black because he wasn't afraid to look death in the eyes. "You know me," he said. "I'm not that easy to forget. I'll let you guess."

'I'm not that easy to forget'

Easy for him to say. Tucker would consider spells more memorable than the people he has met within the past century of his life. And he's lived for six centuries. But some few have remained in his memories despite time passing. Some good, and some... not quite.

"Please, do give me a hint." Tucker jested. Tucker's narrowed down a couple who could possibly be as sly as he did. But the second option... Tucker would have liked to forget he ever thought of that. After all, the likelihood of meeting his dearest demon friend wouldn't be high.

At least, he hopes so.

Takeru was already wary, as if he was expecting him, so it was pointless to keep up the charade further. Mikhainon's grin turned from innocent to predatory as he raised a hand, took off his glove and showed the palm to Takeru.

A slicing motion circled the palm and began to draw his seal there. The design of the seal flashed as quickly as it came, but it was enough for whoever knew it to recognize it — and he was sure his dear friend here would. He slipped his glove back on and leaned against his chair, waiting for a reaction.

Tucker kept his eye on Mikhainon in the next few moments. Then and there, he was sure he regretted being too observant at the very moment the seal appeared in Mikhainon's palm. It was cursed symbol for him, and it was also the seal that belonged to the one that gave him a chance to chase after his goal.

The demon who almost had his soul.

For a second, Tucker's eyes grew wide with shock but he turned away to recollect himself. After a sip from the tea, he set it down on the table just as gently, "Well, well. I didn't quite expect to see you so soon... Yuki." His voice was calm, but dashed with a slight contempt.

"It's been six hundred years, my dear Takeru. It wasn't soon," he said, shifting closer. "I would've preferred a much earlier meeting."

He noticed the contempt in his voice. Well, he supposed he couldn't blame him. But if Takeru knew what was good for him, which unfortunately he usually didn't, he would let sleeping dogs lie. As per usual, Mikhainon had to be the enlightening one in the situation. "You seem upset. Given your line of work, I would have imagined you'd be more enthusiastic. After all, I have been around since the beginning of time."
