He'd noticed her earlier that morning, and maybe because he'd started his breakfast out with whiskey in his coffee, but Lochlann was thinking that he'd ask Kaya Foxuma out on a date.

He was pretty reluctant to the idea of a girlfriend--after all, his whole point of being on the Manta Carlos Islands was to learn to not eat chicks--but if he was being perfectly honest, he was getting lonely.

Oh, and there was the fact that Kaya looked like she could kick his ass. She was taller than him by a few inches and had a style that reminded him of a rock concert.

He'd seen her walking through the hallways by herself and finally summoned up the courage to approach her one day after class. He waited until she was the last person in the room before he leaned against the door frame and said, "Hey, you're Kaya, right?"


((ooc: I took some liberties and just assumed kaya would be in a room for class. Feel free to change that however you need! My apologies, I was just stumped on a way to get them situated)

She had been held back by the teacher about her lack of attentiveness in her studies, but she was still able to keep her grades at least a B so it was more of a 'custom' for certain teachers to keep her after class only to tell her that much exactally. It was the last class of the day anyway and it wasn't a workout day with Henry. For her it was off to the spa to relax until she needed to be home. Because of her portal abilites she never really needed a book bag like the other students so she walked out of the room stretching, she mentally noting how this certain top of hers rode up on her body a little higher then she expected.

Then as she turned once she was out of the room she was asked a question by someone behind her. She turned around she found a boy just a few inches shorter then her ask who she was, then with a raised eyebrow she looked him up and down before putting a foot behind her to give her a defensive posture. "I am, who's asking?"

She seemed defensive so Lochlann raised his hands up, open palms, to show that he wasn't trying to start anything.

"Uh, I am, I guess," he said. "My name is Lochlann, and I've seen you around the halls a few times and you always look sort of--"

He paused, because he was going to say pissed off but wasn't sure if that would be offensive or not. Shit, he used to be good at talking to girls, what the hell was happening here?

"--in a hurry, so I never wanted to bother you."

Shit, that was a bad ending. If he said, you looked pissed off, he'd said that he felt that way a lot, too, about being here at the school, and that maybe if she wanted to ever talk they could get coffee or something. Fuck. He'd just messed up his plan.

"I'm making an ass out of myself, so I guess I'll just do this quick: You seem interesting and I'd like the opportunity to get to know you. Would you like to get coffee sometime?"

He didn't blurt out the words like he might have if he was more nervous. Loch had asked a lot of girls out, been rejected a whole slew of times....but also had a lot of successes. But still, he had his fingers crossed--not literally-- that she'd say yes.

When he tried to calm her she realized it was just a class mate and she let down her guard to casual levels. "Oh I think I've seen you around, and it's true I've been in a hurry a lot..." She was about to continue when she came to a thought and she blushed a little and raised an eyebrow "You were watching me walk through the halls?" She said it quietly so he wouldn't hear but she knew people watched her, being what she was it was kind of inevitable but usually the way people asked her was that they were entitled to have her go on a date. Or they were to forward with her asking her straight out to sleep with her cause all they saw was her as a succubi.

He was asking out for coffee, to get to know her. It sounded quite cliche but she was actually considering it. It wasn't like her and Henry were going steady yet. She did lean her head into the class room to double check the time. There were several hours before she had to get home. "Sure why not. I'm open now actually." She opened a portal and pulled through a small clip of cash for herself as she put it in her pocket. "If we could I'm actually hungry, want to grab something to eat as well?"

Lochlann nodded. "I didn't want to be that guy who tries to bother you while you're in a rush."

He had that happen at his last school, although admittedly part of the reason he was in a rush was because he was trying not to talk to anyone. It didn't really work that well.

"Sure why not. I'm open now actually." She opened a portal and pulled through a small clip of cash for herself as she put it in her pocket. "If we could I'm actually hungry, want to grab something to eat as well?"

Yes! She said yesssss!

Well, okay, she said why not but that wasn't a no! Inside, Lochlann was doing jumping jacks, but externally he was still leaning against the wall, although he did have the makings of a smile on his face.

"Uh, yeah. How do you feel about burgers? There's a place right outside campus that's not too bad," he said.

Which wasn't entirely true, her life had some drastic changes like being a trainer to Henry. Helping that monkey boy, just so much happening after school it was either starting to show or she was trying to avoid something. But this should help with that.

"I wouldn't mind a good meaty burger right now. I've been forced to watch what I eat but a good burger would do me good I think."

"That makes two of us," Lochlann commiserated. "Everytime I think to myself, 'things will slow down soon' they just get crazier. I swear, if one more teacher asks me to write a paper on how national settings influenced the literature of the period, I'm going to...."

He stopped and laughed. "Well I guess I'll write the paper. I don't have anything good thought up for that. Are your classes all hell right now, too?"

"I wouldn't mind a good meaty burger right now. I've been forced to watch what I eat but a good burger would do me good I think."

He nodded, then pushed himself off the wall and started down the hallway *, continuing their conversation. "I have to be honest, I'd fail miserably at watching what I'd eat. I do so good for so long, but then I just crash and eat something I'm not supposed to. Cheeseburgers probably aren't a better alternative, though, but they're so good."

Kaya chuckled a little asking her how her classes were going. "Well definatly not homey but I'm pretty sure you didn't mean it like that." She said giving a small laugh with a smile that showed off her sharp carnivorous teeth. "They could be going better, teacher seem to like to make it a habit now to tell me even though my grades are improving that I need to still pay attention in class, its almost idiotic especially when it makes me late for my next class."

as they begun to walk he bright up he wished he could watch what he ate she grinned again allowing him to see her teeth again. "its not so hard on an almost all meat diet. My stomach can't have vegetables, I get cramps and it gets very nasty. What about you, what do you usually eat?" she said this as she spun around and begun walking backwards leaning down almost as if to examin his chompers.
