Kaiasu is a 2'5'' tall individual who is normally proportioned for someone her age; as such, it is very obvious that she is an unnaturally miniature size as opposed to just being short. This is part of what tips her off as a supernatural being; though there are plenty of other traits that make her look inhuman. One such trait are a pair of appendages at the top of her head that vaguely look like bunny ears, yet they are relatively small and practically appear to be merged to her hair rather than sticking out of her hair.
This is because Kaiasu doesn't exactly have hair; her whole body is one mass of a very light purple substance with tiny glittering ice crystals imbedded in her body. Her hair is the exact same as her skin, her eyes, everything - the only difference is the shape and location that it takes on her body. The consistency of her body is best compared to be a mix of soft serve ice cream and dough, leaving her exceedingly malleable as a result. This same hyper-malleability has left Kaiasu without the ability to speak, though, and her body is furthermore relatively featureless as well. It not only lacks any kind of genitalia, but she has no discernible nails or a belly button either. Her figure is decisively feminine, though, and what's more her hands have tips that simulate long, manicured nails - even though there are no nails there.
Kaiasu's face is not very featureless either as she has a petite nose, a mouth, eyes discernible as darker circles on her face, eyebrows, eyelashes - all traits that further earn her a female gender even though she is truly more genderless. This face is typically shows how she is a very expressive young woman; no matter how hard she tries to hide it, there will always be at least hints to what she is feeling. Down from her face, her chest only further adds to her own femininity with a distinct set of breasts, though they are modest in size.
Kaiasu is very rarely seen without clothing when she can help it, regardless of her lack of any explicit detail. Depending on how she is feeling, she either ends up wearing bulky, not particularly effeminate clothing and a short hairstyle to pass as a tomboy or more effeminate clothing with long hair stylized into a one-sided open knot. The 'effeminate' clothing in question are typically sundresses or traditional Japanese clothes for women, though there are other more exotic clothing that Kaiasu sometimes wears. Kaiasu often shows discomfort in the latter kinds of outfits, however, yet she dresses herself up in them anyway.
It is best to describe Kaiasu's body as a form of soft serve ice cream; she is very chilly and Kaiasu's body is unable to form any kind of speech, making her effectively mute, but she can still do a few things like gasp, cry and make a very airy, hard to hear laugh.
Personality Description: Kaiasu is the result of two different beings merging into something relatively new. Kain and Yasu, the gifted human and the lonely spirit. Kaiasu is most like Kain, particularly since Yasu has no real memories of her past save for vague snippets. As such, Kaiasu is a girl with all of the memories of a guy. Yasu is a part of Kain now, getting her wish at life by living as a part of him... or, well now her.
Kaiasu's personality reflects her discomfort with how her body looks, amplified by how secluded she was for most of her life due to being sickly. She can be rather awkward around others, and while very sociable she tends to stammer whenever under the scrutiny of others, whether said scrutiny is imagined or not. In fact, the tiny teenager's imagination is relatively robust, which had been fanned and encouraged over the years by listening to the tales that spirits had to tell her while stuck in bed. At the same time, though, a lot of these spirits told rather dark tales, which has made Kaiasu a little overly aloof when trying to react to someone else's alleged problems and concerns. The young woman is a very good listener, though; she is patient and can recall what people tell her pretty well, regardless of how aloof she may appear at the time. This allows her to empathize with others pretty well, though sometimes Kaiasu can feel insignificant if people talk about their own problems for too long.
Kaiasu has never been the type to lean towards violence or much competition, but at the same time she wants to be treated like someone special. It would kill her to admit it, but she is often most happy when someone else treats her like a princess, put most simply. The little teenager is equally satisfied by her pursuits into music, however, as she had always had a love for music. She is particularly inspired by songs which tell of a story of hardship that the artist in question has gone through; something that is supposed to be very personal, but filtered through lyrics that are more generalized yet at the same time more far-reaching. Kaiasu had always had a rather weak voice due to being sick, however, and her change into a hybrid spirit made her aspirations to sing even more of a distant memory than it was in the past.
Yasu may be getting her wish through Kain being in control of Kaiasu, but that doesn't mean Kaiasu can do whatever she wants. Yasu best remembers herself as a shrine maiden in training from a long, long time ago, and she only wants the opportunity to live the life she never got to live. The more Kaiasu deviates from the idea of being a shrine maiden, the more Kaiasu will find herself 'forgetting' who she was for awhile, often ending up in some very embarrassing situation as Kaiasu's attitude will change dramatically. As such, Kaiasu doesn't try to act too tomboyish at once and has an interest in 'purifying' and honoring spirits to try and appease these wishes.

Yasu is a part of Kain now, getting her wish at life by living as a part of him... or, well now her.
Kain grew up in the northern part of the United States of America, in a secluded bit relatively sizable town in Minnesota near the border of Canada. He had always been a sickly child and ended up bed-stuck more often than not. At the same time, though, a lot of these spirits told rather dark tales, many of them recounting troubles during the initial colonization of central North America by the Europeans, though there were plenty of other stories to hear as well. These stories and the spirits kept Kain company, while his family was not quite so accommodating. They sacrificed much to help tend to Kaiasu and his health problems; money, time with Kain's fraternal twin sister, the stability of their marriage... taking care of Kain wasn't easy on his family.
Kaiasu's sister was exposed to some of the worst of the stresses put on her mother and father, which the sister ended up blaming all on her sickly brother. Her hatred, along with the fights that Kain's parents would commonly get into, made living in that household relatively miserable. Kain's parents had even tried to get a mental condition diagnosed for their child when they realized he was speaking to 'imaginary ghosts', but Kain quickly lied, saying that he knew that none of them were real when he realized how serious people seemed to be taking it. Things remained pretty 'normal' afterward.
Kain began to show interest in music after a trip through a mall had exposed Kain to some of the up and coming artists being showcased in one of the stores. One artist in particular was inspiring to him, a guitarist who sang and played deeply moving songs that connected to Kaiasu to a certain degree. The sickly child ended up spending a lot of his time practicing the guitar, often playing for either himself or for the spirits that she had always kept company with.
Kaiasu had little hope that he would be able to be anywhere near as moving as the artist which his had originally listened to, particularly because she lacked a singing voice due to her sickness. That didn't stop him from trying all throughout his teenage life. Nothing exactly stopped him there, either, but in the middle of his high school years she got an invitation to the Starlight Academy. Apparently, they had finally taken notice to that initial psychologist visit all those years ago and had realized that Kaiasu was gifted after further investigation.
Kain was set to join the academy, though before then he met Yasu, a foreign spirit that was unlike a lot of the spirits Kain had met up to that point. Yasu was killed very early in her life, so she had little to go off of to define herself as a spirit. Lonely and wishful, Yasu tried to possess Kain's body after being drawn to it thanks to Kaiasu's connection to the spiritual. Kain instinctual tried to defend himself, activating the power which was the real reason why he had a connection to spirits; Kain's ability to forge spirits. Kain forged himself together with Yasu, removing the threat of possession by merging the two of them together.
This was how Kaiasu was born. Kaiasu no longer has the ability to forge spirits, which she had only ever used once. She wasn't even human anymore; instead, she was now a spirit hybrid; a being that is a spirit yet is also very much alive. For the next year, Kaiasu roamed out from her home and tried to make sense of what had happened to her, enjoying her new found 'health' while trying to stay out of trouble. She lived like this until Starlight Academy found her yet again, realizing that there was a supernatural being running amok in the world. This time, Kaiasu joined the academy before anything else happened to her.

Powers:
Metaphysical Powers
Kaiasu is a being who is both metaphysical and physical at the same time; that is, it's spiritual and physical at the same time. As such, her body adheres to some laws of the physical world and some laws adapted from abstract logic, all at the same time. This affords Kaiasu some unique abilities and quirks;
- Levitation - Kaiasu's body moves via willpower and not via muscle. This has allowed her the ability to fly via levitation. Her max speed is comparable to a normal human adult's speed walking speed; a speed which is still considerably faster than Kaiasu's sprinting speed, thanks to her size.
- Energy Sap - A hybrid spirit body is not like a spirit or a true physical body; it demands a lot of energy to maintain. This body can utilize raw physical or raw metaphysical energy; electricity or life force, respectively. This replaces Kaiasu's need to eat food and requires her to come into physical contact with the energy that she wants to sap. Energy sapped translates directly into either any body mass that was lost from her maximum size or just energy to keep moving.
The process of sapping energy takes time and can be stopped by distracting Kaiasu. Furthermore, sentient beings have much better resistance against being sapped than more simple beings.
- Metaphysical Phasing - Naturally Kaiasu is in-between a physical and metaphysical state, meaning that she can interact with both worlds fully. The young woman can force her body to be more metaphysical than physical, however, making her body more transparent while allowing her to phase through physical objects. This makes her impervious to any physical attack and unable to interact with anything physically, but magical attacks or anything magic-based will still affect her.
Phasing takes time, so it is an ineffective way to dodge imminent attacks. Furthermore, since Kaiasu is brimming with energy to link her to the physical world, there is no way for her to become totally invisible. Another tidbit of this ability is that Kaiasu will still be 100% visible to anyone who has the gift to see spirits
- Metaphysical Sharing - Kaiasu can enter the dreams of other beings due to her metaphysical nature, though she will still have her physical body which will essentially 'be asleep' as well. She also needs to stay in physical contact for this ability to work.
When entering someone's dream, she gains a body of her own to interact with things in the other person's dream. While Kaiasu can help people 'focus' in a dream to give them more control of their own dream, she is unable to manipulate the other person's dream - she can only share it with them. What's more, if something traps Kaiasu's body within the dream, she won't be able to leave that dream until she's released or they wake up.
Spirit Hybrid Body
Kaiasu is a being who is both metaphysical and physical at the same time; that is, it's spiritual and physical at the same time. As such, her body adheres to some laws of the physical world and some laws adapted from abstract logic, all at the same time. This affords Kaiasu some unique abilities and quirks;
- Extreme Malleability - Kaiasu, as Yasu, was originally a spirit of frost and snow before she became Kaiasu. This theme was preserved for Kaiasu's physical body, but the interpretation of a frosty/snowy body has ended in something strange. Her whole body is made up of the same substance; she has no internal structure to speak of and the consistency of her body is best likened as a mix between being like a soft-serve ice cream and some kind of dough. One could very easily pull parts of Kaiasu's body off and it would not even hurt her, though if Kaiasu wanted to stay mobile she would have to make her body even smaller to make up for the lost mass. This makes her all but impervious to physical attacks, but her body can still be destroyed via chemicals, heat or magic. Furthermore, if someone tries to physically attack Kaiasu with the intention to hurt her, she will feel pain proportionate to how strongly the person wanted to hurt Kaiasu and how well their attack landed.
Being super malleable also makes her useless for physically attacking someone. After all, if her body is the one that bends or changes when trying to swing a sword or punch someone, it'll never hurt them.
- Limited Shapeshifting - Kaiasu can only ever control the largest part of her body at any given time, but she does have some control over what shape that part takes. She only has two options: A ball/lump of mass or her humanoid form. The less human Kaiasu's body is, the weaker her ability is to move, so naturally the ball/lump would hardly be able to move at all until Kaiasu changed back to being humanoid.
However, Kaiasu can be sculpted by other people. The limits to the shapes that she could take are up to people's imaginations.
- Extreme Physical Survivability - Kaiasu doesn't need to breathe and her body is more healthy the colder it is, so she's capable of surviving in environments most humans couldn't. Kaiasu's body is adept at warding away heat, allowing her to feel cool to the touch at worst rather than freezing. However, she will start melting into water if exposed to heat above room temperature, the speed at which she melts being proportional to the heat.
It's possible for Kaiasu to be re-frozen once completely melted and return to normal if given time, but she's unable to sap energy or move in this helpless state. Eventually she'll 'die' from energy starvation if melted as a result of this.
- Restorative Properties - Kaiasu's body is incredibly restorative to living beings, due to it essentially being one big mass of life energy. If someone took part of Kaiasu's body and just applied it to a wound, that wound would start healing at an accelerated rate. Consumption helps heal internal wounds or sicknesses as well; she is a cure-all.
