Tall(5'10"), broad shouldered, but thin-hipped. Her eyes are a striking amber with flecks of green in the right eye, and her hair is a dark ginger. She may or may not have her ears & tail present in this form. These are only present at night or when the sun isn't out.
When presenting as male her long hair is tied up in a ponytail or bun, she wears large baggy clothes such as hoodies and sweatpants to hide her body.
When presenting as female, her hair is generally let down or tied up more loosely, and clothing items such as skirts, sweaters, and dresses are worn. Though she still has a tendency towards looser things like jackets or cardigans over a dress or skirt.
Wolf
As a wolf, Alanna takes on the appearance of a red wolf. She’s a large red-orange beastie with cream on her muzzle, belly, and bottom of her tail, and a gray-black stripe down her back. She’s about the average size of a red wolf with a slighter build than most wild wolves.
Rougarou
In her cryptid form, Alanna grows to be a 6’5” beast with strong, muscular limbs, a wolfish muzzle and long, pointed ears. Her arms elongate until they’re far out of proportion with the rest of her, her legs are thick and muscular. She is a half-human, half-wolf creature with a very wolfish head, but a mostly human body excluding the claws and tail. About her neck is a thick mane of wolf-fur, and a thinner coat continues over the whole body. Her coat still takes after a red wolf in this form.

Active Abilities:
Transformation
Unlike other varieties of werewolves, Alanna does not require a full moon to transform. She can freely shift between her human, wolf, or rougarou form and allow some traits through while keeping others at bay.
On times where she shifts fully into her rougarou form, she will become bed-ridden and sickly for about a week or two afterwards. This is not an issue with her wolf form.
Alanna cannot transform into a wolf or a rougarou unless the sun is down, and when it comes up she shall be forced back into her human form.
Blood Sucker
The rougarou can make others of its kind in two ways: by traditional breeding or by “infecting” a human. When she consumes the blood of a mundane human, Alanna can “curse” them with the rougarou form. She can only do this in her full rougarou form, and afterwards the human she transforms will become bedridden as she does for a month while the transformation occurs.
This only applies to mundane human victims where Alanna draws blood intentionally & directly from their body for the purpose. Accidents, blood bags, etc. are not going to result in some poor sap getting turned thankfully.
Passive Abilities:
Heightened Senses
Alanna has the senses of a wolf even in her human form, able to hear, smell, taste, and feel things much more than the average human can. However, she’s also completely colorblind like a dog is.
Heighten Strength & Speed
As a human, she is slightly stronger than would be expected of someone of her thin frame, but otherwise she’s average as a human and a wolf. When in her rougarou form, Alanna’s strength is triple that of a human with a bite force roughly equivalent to 4,500 psi (3x that of a wolf). Her strength and hunting capabilities are terrifyingly dangerous. She also is able to move much faster than any mundane human(about twice as fast as) in her rougarou form.
Pack Song
Rougarou are pack animals, like their wolf cousins, and Alanna is no exception. She is capable of understanding the howling songs of her fellow rougarou, werewolves, and wolves..Though the latter two can sometimes take some extra translation due to a dialect difference.
Regeneration
Alanna’s body regenerates and heals at a rate much faster than the average human. Cuts heal up within minutes, larger wounds take hours or days instead of weeks, so on & so forth. Consuming blood also speeds up her natural regeneration. The amount of her body that is healed is proportional to the amount of blood consumed. IE, drawing up a drop would heal a scratch, but drinking a pint a blood would heal a similar volume of her body.
Weaknesses:
Dumb as a box o’ Rocks
Rougarou’s are not...well famed for their intelligence. In fact, their beastial brains are oft used against them by human prey. In her rougarou form, Alanna cannot speak coherently or understand complex topics. She seems to loose object permanence and the ability to count past 12. She also cannot read or write as a rougarou.
Silver Allergy
Like most breeds of werewolf, the rougarou is sensitive to silver. If injured by a silver weapon, it will quickly fester and become infected. Alanna will suffer from blood poisoning. If simply exposed to silver, she will have an allergic reaction, bursting into hives and even struggling to breathe if exposed to enough.
Devout Believers
The first rougarou was meant to hunt those who broke their vows at lent. This purpose has been, sort of, passed down through the generations. As such, Alanna is physically incapable of attacking someone in her rougarou form if they are obeying their vows of piety. Her very body will refuse to move if someone is following their religion, regardless of how Alanna herself feels about it.
Hyper Sensitive
Because her nose and ears are so sensitive, Alanna is particularly weak to loud noises and strong scents in all forms. These things can even become debilitating to her if they’re extreme or close enough.

- Open, honest, flexible, and adapts easily to new things and ideas. Enjoys seeking out new stuff. Friendly to those who do manage to get her to chat. Amicable, listens well.
- Very community focused and helpful to others. Feels a duty to help & uplift other people
- Very nerdy and focuses very well on her interests, but not much else. Intelligent(in human form), but very unfocused generally. Gullible and very naive. Trusts others & assumes they have the best of intentions. Tends to be very direct and takes things literally.

Biography:
- Her pack has changed with the modern day, living as part of human society instead of hiding from it. The Broussards, as they renamed themselves, are a family rooted well throughout their small town near Thibodaux, Louisiana. Up and down the roads of the residential area lived the pack in smaller family or sibling units, and the community supported each other financially and materially. It’s a very close knit group that has even welcomed a few humans into the fold.
- Born in the early 2000’s, Alanna was born as Alan Broussard and raised as a rough and tumble little boy who’d play football, run with the pack every full hunt, and shoot guns with the best of em’. Or, at least, that’s what her parents wanted.
- For a while during her childhood, Alanna tolerated this and did...okay at it, but it brought her little joy. She loved to run with the pack, to belong, and to have a family...but not the machismo culture associated with it or the strict gender roles her parents put her into. She was much more the type to read or try out these “video games” her human school friends talked about. These were things her parents scorned, viewing them as weak or non-masculine. Alanna fought with her parents, a lot, over these things. They argued if she was to be a good son, she’d learn the right skills to find a good little wife and have puppies someday. Not fool about with video games.
- Her parents enrolled Alanna in the local park’s football team, dragging the protesting kid to practice three times a week and games on Saturday. At these games was the first time Alanna noticed strange people from out of town loitering about.
- Around the age of 13, when puberty started up, Alanna began to feel uncomfortable with her body, but her parents assured her this was normal. Nobody likes puberty and it was always awkward. She just needed to let it happen and focus on school and football!
- Alanna, not really equipped to cope with these changes or her feelings on them, gave in and threw herself into being a “good son.” In sex ed she was taught that you were either cis, or cis and damned, and her school was a pretty strictly abstinence only-education. And, as with many places in the south, religious. And she liked girls! So...so obviously she was a man.
- However, when Alanna saw a letter from “Starlight Academy” in the trash one day, she snagged it and read through it. A magic school? For magic kids? That sounded hype. Her parents were...less inclined, fearing their only son would be “corrupted by their liberal teachings.”
- Alanna begged and pleaded and argued to no avail. In their many fights over the topic it was revealed to Alanna that her parents, especially her father, resented being "babysat" by the academy and its scouts.
- So when the letter came again with a cloaked scout catching her right after school one day, Alanna had tons of questions. The scout had offered her an education away from the south with other magical beings, and when prodded revealed they generally watched the pack and offered this to all the young students.
- She accepted, being the first of her pack to do so to her knowledge. Though the scouts seemed intent on checking in occasionally.
- When she arrived on Manta Carlos, Alanna was finally given unfettered access to the internet and wider society within the narrow reality and on the island. It was here she was exposed to the concept of being transgender as something real, viable, and accepted. This has brought back all of the questions Alanna has spent years pushing down and ignoring. Now she’s back to questioning her gender, who she is, and what she wants.

- Is able to easily and competnantly navigate most swamps due to her childhood of hunting in them
- Still uses “Alan” and “he/him” pronouns in the vast majority of her life, even internally. She’s heavily questioning her gender right now but is unsure of herself.
