That look wasn't lost on Natalie.

She swirled the vodka in her own glass for a moment, before taking a small sip, keeping eye contact all the while. She did have to admit to herself that Malakias was definitely her type. If she were simply here on a social visit, catching the eye of someone like him would have been nice on its own. But since she was here on a job, this would be especially fortunate for her. It gave her one more card she could play.

"I think the jury's still out on you, Mr Volkov." She spoke with a coy tone, emphasising his title as she leaned forward, providing him with a generous view down her little black dress. "I haven't quite figured out what I can get out of you yet."

Under the table, she raised one of her legs, the pointed tip of her high heel shoe touching against Malakias'. She gently, slowly dragged it upwards, moving it up until she reached his inner thighs.

"Maybe there's something else you'd be willing to give me? Something we could discuss somewhere a little more privately...?" She trailed off, leaving the question out in the air, sly grin spread across her face.

“Well, Miss Kurono,” Malakias said as his golden eyes raked her over, enjoying very much the display she afforded him when she bent forward, “Maybe, you just haven’t asked the right question yet?” he stated with a smirk, cocking an eyebrow at her when he felt her foot moving up his leg.

Leaning forward a bit, Malakias continuing to hold her gaze as he rested one elbow on the table, while with the other hand, he reached under the table and ran his hand over her foot and up along her calf suggestively.

“Although, I have to say that.. I think you’re definitely moving along the right path,” he stated with a grin as he ran his hand up the underside of her leg, stopping just before the inside of the knee as he then gently raked his nail down her skin.

“Would you care to join me Miss Kurono for a private tour of my office?” he asked her invitingly as he gently let go of her leg, took a sip of his vodka and waited for her reply.

Jackpot.

Her grin widened, she made a show of her breath hitching as she felt his nails on her skin, enjoying the sensation. She slowly retracted her leg, the skin sliding out of his hand as she sat back up straight.

"I think that sounds absolutely lovely." She said, speaking with a notably more sultry tone. She neatly placed her cutlery with her plate, finished off the last of her vodka, placed her pen and pad back into her bag and shut off the recorder, before picking up her bag and slowly rising out of her seat. She walked around the table, one hand sliding along the wood before she stood in front of him. She offered him her hand, standing in a very ladylike fashion.

"Lead the way, Mr Volkov."

Malakias just sat there for a second, watching with clear interest as Natalie stood up, and slowly let his eyes take in her whole body, moving up her legs, taking in her curves, the gentle swell of her breasts in the dress she was wearing, and found that yes, feline or not, she was a very appetizing morsel that he wouldn't mind tasting.

"My pleasure, Miss Kurono, and hopefully, it will be yours too," he said pointedly as took her hand in his, and lightly kissed the inside of her wrist first, his intentions clear as he then got to his feet. Then Mal placed a hand at the small of her back as he gently guided her to his office, nodding at one of his men, making it extremely clear he was not to be interrupted.

Finally, they came to his office, a large room decorated expensively with a large desk, chairs and a sofa at on end.

"Make yourself comfortable," Mal said as he shut the door and went to the liquor cabinet where he pulled out glasses for a drink.

"My my, such a gentleman."

She smiled as he kissed her hand, one of her tails running itself along his waist, gently curling around him as she let him lead her on. Nat always enjoyed when someone treated her well, she liked feeling pampered, so she had no problem walking close to Malakias, letting him enjoy the view.

She stepped into his office, sparing a cursory glance around the room with an appreciative smirk. It looked as high class as the rest of the building did. While she was admiringm she looked around for any loose papers, any documents, anything that might be worth reading, though she didn't try to actually check any of them just yet. She didn't want to look too obvious about it.

"Nice office, don't mind if I do." She said, sauntering over to the sofa, draping herself along it, relaxing, legs crossed over in front of each other as she eyed him. "More drinks?"

The office was actually pristine except for the odd piece of paper here and there, but anything important was, as he had been taught and grilled into him incessantly by his father, been stored away under magical lock and key.

Smiling confidently at Natalie, admiring her legs as she sat herself comfortably on the sofa in the office, he handed her another tumbler with ice and two fingers of their best vodka that was flavoured with just a hint of something sweet and slightly spicy.

"So tell me Miss Kurono a little about yourself and why, a woman as smart and capable as yourself, have agreed to have a drink in private with somebody, who I suspect you believe to be as shady as hell?" he asked good-naturedly, flashing her a wolf-like grin, quite aware that she was probably playing him, but not at all displeased at the idea, the chase was always half the fun in his mind.

"Didn't I already say that I'd be the one asking the questions?"

With a soft laugh, she took the glass from his hand, sipping from it a little before settling back. If she was at all worried about the implicit, possible threat, she gave no sign of it, grinning back at him.

"I suppose I can make an exception just this once. So, if, by some chance, I was right and you were, in fact, shady as hell, I suspect you wouldn't want to advertise that." She explained. "So, if, hypothetically, something were to happen to a fairly well-known journalist, and said journalists last known location just happened to be your restaurant, you'd have a lot of people asking questions."

She took a sip from her drink, eyeing him playfully the whole time. Evidently, Malakias wasn't the only one who enjoyed playing games with people.

"Once people start doing that, well, who knows what might happen? Maybe they'll end up stumbling on something you don't want them to. And if that were to happen then anything you were...hypothetically doing, you'd risk that being dragged into the spotlight."

"All just for little old me." She sat up, back straightening, which had the additional effect of pushing her chest forward. "I don't think a smart man would take a risk like that. Do you agree, Mr Volkov?"

"Hmm, I don't know about that Miss Kurono," Malakias said very innocently as he took a sip of his drink,"Why I would, hypothetically, be a suspect? I'm new to the island, have no criminal record, no ties to you except the fact you were seen dining with me, and that was amicable as all could see, plus my staff, sister who hates me included, have seen me here all night and would easily attest to that fact," Malakias pointed out calmly.

"Also," here he looked her over, "I am sure that a reporter such as yourself has made other questionable friendships that might be considered first before questioning a pleasant dinner with a young, affluent businessman that has recently arrived on the island with no ties to yourself or any of your articles."

"Mmm, maybe I have." Her grinned widened. "But maybe those questionable relationships are the exact reason I'm so sure I'll be ok."

She shrugged, putting down her glass. Even as she was messing around, the gears were still turning in her head. His relationship with his sister was apparently sour. That was interesting. She stored that little nugget of information in the back of her mind for later. It was an angle that she could approach another time.

"If I'm wrong, and it turns out I am at risk, well...I guess I'd just need to figure a way out myself. You said it yourself, I am quite capable, after all."

"But of course, I have no need to worry about that, right?" She batted her eyes, innocently. "Like you said, you're just a businessman. Not the sort of person I should feel threatened by, right?"

"You have no reason to fear me, Miss Kurono," Malakias said as he cocked his head a little to one side as he looked at her intently. "I am just a businessman, nothing more, nothing less," he told her truthfully.

"The only risk you run at the moment is me asking you if you are free for the rest of the evening and if you'd like some dessert," he told her with a grin. "We have an excellent creme brulee, chocolate mousse and homemade apple pie."
