Sifa was not a very competitive person, as Fweiu understood it. Not usually. Competition meant making an effort, and Sifa was, for lack of a better word, lazy. Embarrassingly lazy.

But if you put him in front of a chessboard, you could see another side of him, cold and calculating. He made the board like a thin sheet of ice over a river - shift some weight in the wrong places and you could be plummeting down, swept away and drowning.

Fweiu was a good player too - she had been playing this game with her brother for over a century. The game brought out his competitive spirit. They could really connect when they played. And the chess could absorb her thought, drawing it away from her worries. Liun. The endless snowstorm. Negotiations with the faerie delegation.

Fweiu's chess set was made of enchanted, unmelting ice. The pieces would look unfamiliar to a human player, and they had different names in Draconic. After she moved a piece, she spoke: "By the way. You wanted to talk to me about something the other day. So, let's talk."

Sifa stared at the board deep in thought. He had initiated this game of chess in order to have a bit of a talk with his older sister. If he was going to be honest with himself. He was angry. The disappearance of Liun pissed him off so much that he was having trouble sleeping his usual amount. It threw him way off his rythm.

Sifa then took his turn, remembering why he had chosen to have a lot of time spent playing chess with Fweiu. Her style was always a bit more..... leader like. She effected the board like a king ruling an army. She was a bit more straightforward than he would usually play, but that wasn’t bad as she had proven time and time again over the past 100 years or so.

This game had always raised his competitive spirit, as he took it as a way to prove his true skill. He was never the most robust or strong Rukt’in so he always replaced what he lacked with his strategical strength. He was more a planner than a person who took direct action.

But today was different.

Sifa opened with a seemingly normal opening, but his next planned intention on the board was far from normal.

“Fweiu, I’m mad at the fact that we have lost track of a family member. And simply put I want to volunteer to help looking for him.”

Sifa says completely serious.

Fweiu looked at her side of the board for a moment. Her next move shouldn't require this much thought, but she had other things on her mind.

"Alright," she said. She moved another piece - a standard variation on her opening. "Let's talk about your plans for that, first... do you have a plan to find him?"

She was already leaning towards saying no, but she didn't want to say that outright. Sifa would just need to do a lot to convince her. She didn't want to unleash an angry Sifa out into the narrow reality if she could avoid it.
