<div align=center>Sleep seemed like the most distant sensation in the world to William right now. All he wanted to do was sleep. But every time he closed his eyes the only thing he could see was Gabriel. The boy turned on his side, tugging one of his pillows down next to himself and nestling himself into it. Briallen was nowhere to be seen, William could only assume she was cozied up with her girlfriend. Frankly, he was glad of that fact. He wanted to be left alone for now. He'd stayed with August for the past two nights, he was glad for the fact that the boy didn't mind, but he couldn't stay with him forever. William needed some time to be completely alone, anyhow.

He rolled over onto his back and stared blankly at the ceiling, squirming and kicking the covers off himself. He'd rummaged through all his belongings and ended up finding more than several shirts that had belonged to Gabriel. He was wearing one and all the others were underneath him. The way they smelled comforted him, though there was the dull reminder in the back of his head that the owner of them wasn't there anymore. Smells faded and so did memories.

William didn't even remember what Gabriel's voice sounded like. It had only been three days since he'd died, and he didn't even remember what his voice sounded like, and that thought absolutely terrified him. If that's only after three days then what will happen after three weeks? Three months? Three years? A streak of panic flashed through him, he didn't want things to go like that. He didn't want to forget. The boy quivered a little, pulled his pillow close and wept into it, tears dampening the fabric of the case and making his eyes sting.</div>

You could not have picked a better night for a first flight if you had tried to. The temperature was pleasant; balmy and mild. There was a slight wind but it was gentle and of a breezy nature so it didn't lash against the angel's bare chest. The waxing moon and the various clusters of stars scattered around from place to place provided some light amongst the stark darkness of the night sky.

Flying was a practice that couldn't possibly be compared to anything else the man had ever experienced before. The high that came from consuming alcohol or even taking drugs did not stand a chance against the sensations that came along with flying.

Soaring miles above the island was freeing to say the least. Seeing all the buildings and open land below as if they belonged in a little toy village felt satisfying. Some of the blocks had lights shining out through the windows, while others were completely black. It was an action that didn't require much thought, all that was required of him was to keep his wings beating in a steady rhythm, so he didn't plummet to the ground, and observation.

It was possible to close his eyes, but he didn't want to - there were too many things that he wished to witness and at the same time it didn't feel like he was being forced to focus on anything at all. Even with the extremely high altitude, breathing felt far easier up here than it ever had before. Each breath felt lighter than the last, and although he weighed at least a solid one hundred and eighty seven pounds he felt completely weightless.

However he couldn't avoid reality forever. He didn't really want to come down from the beautiful buzz that flying gave him, but like everyone else he had responsibilities and obligations that he couldn't push aside. He began his descent at a rapid pace, aiming for the Starlight Academy dorms - in specific William Beckett's dorm. He planned to hover outside the window and rap his knuckles against the glass panes until the boy came over to it and let him in.

Unfortunately, not everything went according to plan as the angel might have mastered the art of flying from the get go but he had not exactly learned how to stop . His whole body, wings and all, smashed through the window of William's dorms with a loud crash. Shards of glass flew everywhere, piercing the man's skin in a few places.

The angel landed on the ground of the dorm with a loud thud. He got up shakily, there was blood gushing out of a deep wound near the bottom of his left shoulder and there were several nasty looking scrapes in other places. He tried to steady himself by fumbling around with his arms, trying to find a place to lean on. That only caused him to knock a load of things off the window sill.

"Oh God, I'm sorry." The angel apologised, spinning around to see what he had caused to fall over, hoping to pick up anything that wasn't smashed. Unfortunately this only created further damage as he had forgotten about the space needed for the enormous white feathered wings that protruded out of his back.

A series of loud crashes and bangs followed, with everything smashing into tiny bits and pieces, resembling a scene in a kitchen where a plate had been dropped. Most of the items he had knocked over were far beyond repair. "Oh shit! I am so sorry!" He felt extremely guilty, he was after causing hundreds of dollars worth of damages. Though perhaps that was not the specific matter he should be concerned about right now.

<div align=center>Everything happened very, very quickly. When William realized what was going on he clapped his hands to his ears and screamed. Was he being robbed? Murdered? He desperately searched for the closest thing he could deal damage with, flung himself out of his bed and snatched up the beside lamp, wielding it as a knight might wield a sword. If he was going to die, he'd at least put up one hell of a fight before he did. He was going to leave this world with a bang and if that meant taking someone else with him, then he'd bloody well do it.

But as he turned to face the stranger everything stopped. Time froze. William stared. Fingers uncurled and the lamp fell from his hand, landing on the carpet with a soft thud. His jaw fell open, and every single emotion felt like it was exploding out of him at once. Fear overwhelmed most of them. He felt like his heart was going to explode from his chest. What the fuck is going on?

This wasn't real. This was a dream. He'd finally fallen asleep and none of this was happening. But when Bill reached out to the stranger he found that there was something there. A familiar presence that lulled Bill into a sense of security that he had craved so desperately. Tears welled up in the boys eyes and he fell to his knees, sobbing weakly and desperately reaching out before the creature standing before him. He had no idea what was going on. The mind before him was something he knew. Someone he knew and he so desperately wanted to know what was happening to him that all he could do was curl up on the floor and weep.

"Gabriel."</div>

William's screaming only caused Gabriel to panic. Of course, he should have expected it - how else did he expect the poor boy to react? Not only had he heard someone crashing through his window in the dead of night, but also he had just found out that the person who caused the scene was someone that he had believed to be dead.

When Gabe saw the weapon William was wielding it warmed his heart ever so slightly. The boy had obviously picked up the item closest to him, and while it mightn't have been the best choice of weapon he was relieved to see that the boy had not been planning to go down without a fight. Even though they were officially not together any longer, Gabe still felt extremely protective over Bill and didn't want him to come anywhere near harm's way.

As William stared at him Gabe felt almost suffocated by the raw emotions that were overwhelming him. He felt a mixture of everything from sadness and guilt to joy and excitement- though his expression remained consistent throughout and you may have thought he was being cold if you didn't know him very well.

Unconditional love was what hit him hardest out of everything he felt. He hadn't quite thought about how this was going to go before he'd headed over to Bill's place. He hadn't had a clue how he'd feel once he saw William face to face. He'd expected that maybe he'd still feel angry that the boy had broken up with him, or maybe he'd feel guilty and blame himself. But he wasn't thinking about the break up at all. No, he was thinking about the fact that he was absolutely and completely still in love with William Beckett despite all they'd been through.

When William reached out to touch him, Gabe went rigid. He was nervous that the boy would slap him, not because William was the violent sort or anything but because the pangs of guilt in his stomach told him that he deserved to be hit for letting William believe he was gone for good. He believed he should have found the boy sooner, though realistically he hadn't had time.

"Yes William, it's me." Gabe managed to get the words out, even though he could feel his throat knotting up. He wouldn't let himself cry too, no way, but seeing the poor boy so upset broke his heart. "I promise I'm real." He wanted nothing more than to comfort the boy, but he was so clumsy in his current state and William was so fragile , he was afraid he'd break him just like the ornaments on the window sill.

<div align=center>All William could really do was stay rooted in his spot and cry pathetically, he didn't know what to do and he was confused out of his mind. He stared at the man, eyes wide, glistening in the dull moonlight that filtered through the broken window. There was glass everywhere, but William didn't really care about that right now, he shuffled forwards a short way, wrapping his arms around Gabe's legs and clinging to him, little sobs racked his feeble little frame until he was full on shivering, confused, terrified and overwhelmed all at the same time. The soft glow of Gabriel's halo had brightened the room, though when Bill looked up at him he could only just make out his features through the tears clouding his eyes.

He could feel glass digging into his skin and the warm trickle of blood that was running down his leg, but he didn't care he didn't care at all he felt like this was a strange dream he needed to wake up from but he had never fallen asleep. He was wide awake and he was absolutely sure of that fact. In his head he'd killed Gabriel. Gabriel had died because of him, it was completely his own fault. That was all he could think about right now. The last time he'd seen Gabe was when he was lying dead on a bed in a hospital.

But suddenly he was here. This strange and beautiful creature that had just crashed through his window and destroyed his dorm room. "I... I.. I... I don't understand!"</div>

Gabe was absolutely terrified to provide the boy with any form of physical comfort as he was extremely afraid that he would whack the boy with one of his gigantic wings. Until he learned to get more control of them and to stop them beating involuntarily he'd have to try restrain himself, or maybe he could position himself extremely carefully.

The latter option was the one that appealed to Gabriel the most right now. All he wanted was to calm the boy down and quench the heart-breaking sobs that were escaping from Bill's mouth. To be sure he wouldn't hurt the boy he'd have to go behind him though, so that the boy was not in the path of his wings. That meant the task of trying to remove William's grasp from his legs, without hurting the poor teen's feelings.

It was only then that Gabe realised that William was bleeding . He hadn't noticed until now as apart from the moonlight and the soft glow of his halo there was an absence of light in the room. "You're bleeding, " Gabe exclaimed before remembering that you weren't supposed to point out injuries that the person hasn't realised about, you were meant to just try treat them without drawing too much attention to the severity of the injury. It would only cause to freak them out.

Then Gabe remembered something he'd been told about. He had a power that could help heal injuries...though it would drain energy from himself. He didn't mind though, it was worth it for William. Besides the wound wasn't too bad so it wouldn't completely wear him out. He knelt down slowly, careful not to even twitch his wings, and began to softly stroke the area of skin on William's leg where the cuts were. "This should help. "

Gabe exhaled heavily, trying to think where to start. He supposed there was no point in beating around the bush, though there was a lot to tell. "I did die, " he began, " cardiac arrest. He blinked at Bill before continuing, "but for some reason I was brought back, and given a set of wings and a halo. " He shrugged, he wasn't supposed to tell William everything in detail so he had to be vague. "I guess I was a good Jew after all? " He laughed, trying to make light of the situation.

<div align=center>The boy practically hurtled himself at Gabe as he came close, clinging to him and pushing himself so close there wasn't even an inch of space between the two. His hands immediately went to the gargantuan wings sprouting from Gabriel's back, running them over the soft, white feathers that lined them. He liked the way they felt, the wings were warm and so soft that he didn't really want to take his hands away again. It suddenly dawned on William what had happened. Gabriel was alive. He was alive and he was right here and Bill was absolutely sure he was alive because when his head settled against the man's chest he could hear the soft thud, thud, thud of his heart.

William wasn't sure whether it was joy or just the unconditional feeling of love that pulsed through his veins right now but Gabe was okay and he was here and Bill never, ever wanted to let go of him ever again. Not ever. His skin was warm and soft and William wanted to be held there forever and ever. "Oh God I love you please don't go away again please never ever again I love you I don't want you to go away I thought you were dead I thought you were gone I thought I had killed you." Of course William had blamed himself, he was the only outlet he could take his anger out on. When he pulled back again, his eyes flickered to Gabe's hand and the blood that stained his skin. Bill panicked for a brief moment at the sight of it, snatching the duvet and violently mopping the blood away with the corner of it. But when it was gone, he found there was nothing there. The cut was gone. Just like I can do... But he could never do anything to himself.

William, evidently didn't find Gabriel's joke very funny, and merely frowned at him for just a moment. This was so strange to him. Angels didn't exist, did they? Of course they do. He blinked, didn't you listen to anything he just said? He shuffled back again, hands moving to Gabriel's shoulders. He'd missed his face his smell his voice and it had only been three days. Three days. Fresh cuts lined the boys arms, though judging by the number, they most likely weren't from the glass that had been smashed. "I... I... You broke a lot of things." He murmured, glancing behind him at the path of destruction Gabe had caused, "I.. I.. I should.. I guess I should clean up..."</div>

Gabe felt his heart begin to race as the boy began to touch his wings, it was possibly one of the things he'd been most fearful of. Though he relaxed after a minute because it felt nice . It was a completely foreign feeling to him, nothing like getting his skin touched, but it was lovely. "Careful, " he warned, though his heart wasn't really in it, "I don't really know how to control them yet. "

The longer the boy clutched onto Gabe the more comfortable he became, realising that he had enough control even at this stage to not hurt William. Maybe it wasn't even possible for him to hurt the boy, physically at least, he wasn't quite sure how far the whole protecting him business went. "I won't be going away again, ever, " Gabe promised the distraught teenager. "I'm not able to die again anyway so you don't have to worry about that. " He reassured William.

"Te amo, Guillermo. Te amo. " Gabe hugged the boy close to him, rocking him back and forth. He froze suddenly though, noticing the boy's cuts and properly hearing what Bill had just said about thinking he had killed the other man. "What? What do you mean?" He frowned, "you didn't kill me! My own stupid powers killed me."

Gabe stopped William from getting up, "don't, I caused the mess I'll clean it. " He felt like he should at least take some action considering he might not be able to actually reimburse William for some of the items he had broken.

<div align=center>William didn't really understand what it'd be like to have wings. He supposed it was like a new baby who couldn't really walk yet, they didn't know what to do with their limbs. Gabe was the same, he imagined. He buried his head into the crook of Gabe's neck and settled there, enjoying the warmth of another person's body. "I'm sorry." He murmured, "I'm sorry I'm a bad person. I'm a bad, bad person." Looking Gabriel in the face he felt awful about what had happened between him and August, he'd told himself a hundred times that him and Gabe hadn't been together at that point. But nothing helped. It didn't matter. William shouldn't have done it.

"No, no no if I'd just sucked it up and apologized... This.. This wouldn't have happened." What if Gabe hadn't come back? William realized he probably would have done something stupid. He probably would have ended up... He shook his head, driving the bad thoughts away and nestling himself back against his boyfriend. I caused the mess I'll clean it. William didn't much like that idea. He shook his head. "N.. No please don't do that." He squeaked, worried that doing that would only result in more mess.

He reluctantly dragged himself away from Gabe to shuffle across the room and turn the main light on. The damage was evident now, one of the beside cabinets was knocked over and various things were knocked and smashed across the carpet. William's kettle was upturned on the floor, but on closer inspection he could see that it wasn't harmed. William sighed, still feeling just a little bit strange about this whole incident. "I... Do you want coffee, or anything?" He asked, glancing up to Gabe. His wings were visible in full, now, and all Bill could do was stare. His halo was missing now, though. Bill wondered where it had gone. "It's late."</div>

"Why are you sorry? You're not a bad person," Gabe was completely unaware about what had happened between William and August so he didn't really get why the boy was apologising. "I mean yeah you broke up with me, and that was kinda shitty for me but it wasn't exactly like we were on very good terms when it happened." Gabe hadn't dealt with the break-up all that well but he didn't consider William a bad person for choosing to break up with him.

"Well...I think it would have ended happening anyway. " Gabe began, thinking about what the archangels had told him. He wasn't sure if that piece of information would make William feel any better or not. "I think I was destined to come back as an angel for some reason...man that sounds like I'm so full of myself. " He laughed, "which to be honest isn't far from the truth.

"But I want to help, " Gabe stated matter-of-factly, he didn't realise that William was concerned that he would only cause further mess. Gabe murmured reluctantly as the boy pulled away from him, he knew Bill wasn't going anywhere but he still didn't want to let him go. He had almost forgotten how much he needed the other boy's comfort.

Gabe's eyes burned when William turned on the main light. They had adjusted to the darkness while he was flying and so it took a moment for them to get used to the brightness again. "Oh, hmm, maybe...yeah!" Gabe decided, realising that he was feeling a little drained from healing William after all. "Thanks, " he added on an afterthought.
