You're my real family

Live thought she had done a good job of hiding how weak she was starting to feel when someone else suddenly arrived on the scene. If there was one thing she didn't want to deal with, it was more people. She was about to grab Stefan and just drag him off the beach--after all, he had basically just zoned out for the past few minutes--when the two strangers suddenly came rushing over to her acting very concerned about her condition.

Her eyes narrowed and quickly filled with black again. Her brow stitched together and the sand around her began to move as shadows seeped up from the ground, drawn up by Live's powers.

"Don't touch me." She growled at the two strangers, her head snapping back and forth between the two of them. Her eyes locked in on the boy for a moment, "I'm not a "he" and I sure as hell am not sensitive to your powers." Her eyes then turned to the girl, "And no little miss, you may not take a look because there is nothing wrong with me." A blatant lie but she was pissed off and not about to thrown anybody any bones.

She didn't turn to look at Stefan, too defensive about the strangers to remove her eyes from them, but she did place her hand on his as he grabbed her arm. Even just having her powers active right now was causing her to weaken quicker than would have thought and her weight shifted into him slightly. This whole situation was like nothing she had quite experienced before. If she were alone, she would just take off, but she had someone with her she cared about. Someone she was not about to ditch on the beach with two strangers. Even still, she figured she had about two minutes left until she blacked out. She slowly started backing towards the tree line, her eyes never leaving the strangers.

Astera kinda saw the girl's reaction coming. Being in a situation where a fight almost broke out, it was to be expected she would be showing distrust to a stranger. Just hearing the tone of her voice and facial expressions as she responded, it was clear to Astera that this girl was under a very wrong impression.

"First of all, it's Astera", she said with her arm on her hip accompanied with an extended eye-roll. "I am sorry to let you know, but me wanting to help you has nothing to do with pity, I could care less about petty things like that, I value all life equally, you, me, a tree or a squirrel, and I have no intention of hurting you, so you might want to stop that literal demon of a power you are using, it's just draining your life energy and seeing by your aura, it's just about to run out. So instead of making me have to revive you, how about you just stop being so overly defensive, or at least towards me, I don't know about this wind morph person over here but my only intention is to try to prevent you from dying. Now that we got that cleared, let's see what I can do for you".

Astera lied onto the ground and goes into a state of trance, if she won't tell her what's wrong with her, she 'll just have to find out herself.

Soon enough, she can no longer hear or see anything that's happening around her body, her mind searching through the girl's past, trying to find what's wrong. The darkness that once rested in her vision was now replaced with glimpses of the girl's past, and the pain that accompanied it. The loss of a father, a mother battling with alcoholism, a brother placed with too many responsibilities resulting into him breaking down, and the girl herself, Live, being the victim of harassment and bullying at her school. No wonder she was so distrustful about meeting new people.

After Astera continues to peer around Live's past, she eventually finds the information she needs. "I am so dumb, she is literally linked with demonic energy, of course, she is vulnerable to light". Astera exits her trance, gets back to her feet and approaches Live.

"Gosh, you could have made this so much easier for both of us if you had just told me at the beginning, but don't worry now I know what's the issue," she said with a smile on her face.

Grabbing her bag, she takes out an umbrella and hands it to the guy next to Live.
"Here, how about you take your friend somewhere with lots of shade now, it won't begin to get dark for at least another 5 hours, and if she keeps using that demon energy she won't be able to last for 5 minutes let alone 5 hours," Astera said with a slight snort escaping from her. "Oh and here, you can have this," she said as she is trying to pull something out of her bag.

"Ta dahhhh," said the girl with an expression of excitement on her face. " This is 3 meters of Vantablack imbued clothing, Dad's company is currently researching new application uses it can have, it absorbs about 99.965% of light, so just wrap yourself with it and you should be good to go!

Sky held his hands up in mock surrender. "Hey, I'm sorry. I mean, it's not like you're dressed in black with a hood covering your face. That would be ridiculous." Turning his attention to the person behind him, who has just mentioned something about demonic energy and a weakness to sunlight, everything seemed to make a bit more sense to him. "Sunlight causes her pain? Huh... Explains a bit."

Live stared at the girl as she laid down on the ground, seeming to go into some kind of trance. She was thankful for Red's support. She felt bad this whole thing had suddenly become about her when she had shown up to help her friend. That probably pissed her off more than anything else.

A very close second was the fact that after her strange trance, the girl seemed to be clued into what was wrong with Live. Live wasn't sure what she had done but she was pretty sure she didn't like it.

She was about to say something when Red stepped in for her, telling everyone to just take a step back. The clouds also came in at the moment, of course thanks to the other stranger but Live wasn't about to hand out thank yous right now. It definitely helped a bit though but it didn't undo the damage. She also didn't let up on her powers, the darkness around her still intensified.

"Sorry girly but I don't need your hand outs." She growled. There was a reason Live wasn't a part of the offical welcoming committee.

Stepping back as the dark cloud around the girl began to grow slightly, Sky grimaced and asked "Would you please see if you can keep your aura slightly closer to yourself? My Core really doesn't like being around that stuff, and I'm trying not to collapse this week." Turning around to face away from them, he cupped his hands in front of him, and closed his eyes.

Asoft glow began to emit from the nothingness in front of him which very quickly span itself into a perfect sphere, but with the crystalline structure of a gem. Within it, barely visible currents of wind and Sky's own version of magic were gently curling around a centre pillar, which upon closer inspection was more like a twister than anything else. Hoping that his body would hide the fact that he was holding the thing that kept him alive from the others behind him, Sky pulled apart the clouds into a very small opening, just large enough to allow a ray of sunlight to land on him.

Allowing the sun to fully shine on his Core, whilst unintentionally tilting himself slightly and revealing what he was holding to the people gathered around the girl covered in darkness, the tiny hints of shadow that were only just visible inside the gem began to slowly disappear, the light eating away at the shadows that had managed to enter his heart
