Nia sat on her bed. About five books lay out in front of her. She sat with her notebook on her lap.

There had been silence in the room for almost half an hour when Nia finally spoke up.

"Aedan..." She said, calling attention to her big brother, who sat at the desk in her room, doing some studying of his own. "Can we...talk?"

There was apprehension in her voice. She been off the past week since her new roommate had arrived, and she could tell that Aedan sensed it. She had continued to brush off his concerns, saying it was just adjusting to sharing the communal living areas but there was something she had yet to tell him about her first encounter with the voice of Creation.

He pushed his homework aside and turned to Nia, "sure what's up sis." He rose from his seat and stretched before walking over to her.

Things had felt off lately, he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was. He took a seat next to her, hugging her with one arm.

Nia leaned into Aedan's embrace. She always felt so safe with him near.

"I uh...I learned something..." She glanced down at the notebook on her lap, covered in chicken scratches, "It's about...hormones. And...puberty and..." Nia found her words getting stuck in her throat and she stopped speaking suddenly. This converstaion was definitely sounding like it was about something else besides what Nia was actually trying to get at.

"Aedan...I don't know how to tell you this..." Her anxiety began to well, and she felt tears forming in her eyes.

Aedan Drago

Aedan would tilt his head, his glowing eyes following hers to the notebook and back to her face. "Easy, take it slow," stepping to her he'd kneel besides her, an arm wrapping around her shoulders."

"I'm not going anywhere," he'd say with a smile, "take your time, I'll listen." He'd gently brush hair from her face, his own face being quite calm and kind as he didn't want to rush her.
