Havoc had, at most, five hours before he had to call an end to elections. It wasn't a ton of time, but that didn't stop him from handing out fliers right up till the last possible second. He wasn't rushing. He wasn't agitated. He simply was. Whether or not he won, Havoc didn't really care. He was all but guaranteed a position as vice president at a minimum. His goals would be fulfilled, and everything would be fine.

He was at least going to hand out the rest of his posters. He had about twenty left, but it was getting increasingly hard to get someone to take them. Most people had already been campaigned to and turned them aside. He was keeping an eye out primarily for unfamiliar faces as he stood near one of the side entrances, watching people come and go.

Tiny didn't really feel like she belonged here. The school was open and the students were friendly enough. But there was that nagging voice in the back of her head saying she could never be one of them. She'd already been branded a criminal. She didn't deserve the incredible kindness the school offered to all potential students and current students alike. Tiny slunk around in her oversized hoody and some simple black leggings, proclaiming herself as clearly a 'she' today. People didn't question a girl wearing men's clothing. They didn't give her a second thought.

And then she was stopped, offered a poster by one of the students. Tiny assumed this meant she passed for one of them, at the very least. She wasn't entirely sure what to do with a campaign poster, staring blankly at the man like he'd just given her a page full of gibberish.

Havoc initially mistook Tiny for a boy, before deciding that the leggings meant girl. But then he also mistook them for both a student and for being significantly younger then they were.

There were a lot of misconceptions, to say the least.

"Are you interested in the election?" Havoc asked, his voice neutral and his face blank. "I could explain my platform, if you'd like, or simply give you the brief version of it."

The very brief version of it, if Havoc had any say in it. He found that college students tended to be the most interested, while the younger a student was, the more likely they were to zone out mid-explanation.

Are you interested in the election?

Election? What election? For what? Tiny's staring continued, gently tilting her head to the side in confusion. She'd never bothered to keep up with political elections in America, so she wasn't sure she understood what he meant by 'election'. Did the island elect new leaders often...?

Tiny was very quiet when she spoke, almost inaudible. He'd likely have to strain to hear her mumbled response clearly.

"I dunno. What's it for?"

Did it matter if she was a student? Tiny opted not to correct him, not sure it really mattered.

"Never heard about 'n election here b'for now. What's it do?"

Havoc couldn't help but stare, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly as she said she'd never heard of the election before. How had she missed it? Was she a new student like Felix had been, having only just arrived at the school?

"We elect the student council twice a year," Havoc said simply, leaning in slightly to hear better. "You'll be voting tomorrow morning," he added, mostly as an afterthought.

"My platform is student safety, and ensuring that all students have access to self defense courses if they'd like. I also plan to push for some form of representation for all grade levels. Elementary students make up a significant portion of the student body, but haven't been represented in more then a year."

Possibly more then that, but Havoc hadn't searched that far back.

Tiny blinked. Student council. What in all hell was that? She'd never actually been to a highschool before. Not past the first year, and that she'd missed most of. It sounded stupid and pointless if they did it twice a year. Nothing could be done in such a short amount of time and the next person would just throw everything aside. Tiny wasn't exactly afraid to voice this, not being a student. He couldn't exactly get her in trouble for it.

"It sounds like a stupid waste of time. You have six months to propose, approve, and plan a project, then hope to fucking god that no one scraps it in the next election. Why not just let the school deal with things? Who's stopping them forming some kinda club for learning self defense?"

This seemed like a stupid problem with an easier solution.

"Did ya consider comment boxes? Even a child can fill those out. They're even anonymous."

Havoc had been fairly lucky overall. The people he'd run into had mostly been receptive to the election as a whole, and no one had been outright dismissive.

"I don't plan to wait six months," Havoc said simply. "I plan to have my changes implimented within a month."

Havoc didn't wait around. He was efficient--that was probably his greatest advantage, and one of his best attributes. He could be ruthless about it, but he was going to get things done.

"Anonymous comments are easy to dismiss without data to back them up. The point is to have someone advocating for younger students who might not otherwise be heard," Havoc said. "It's also difficult, from basic comments, to get an idea of how big a specific problem might be. One person might complain about an issue, but they might be one in a thousand."

He'd thought this out. Maybe people had asked about this before. Alright. Tiny figured she'd poke and prod some more. Like people teased those weirdly dressed british soldiers. They knew they wouldn't break but it was fun to try.

"Alright. I'll bite. Student safety. Gotta better plan than 'if they want training they can get it'? What about those who don't think they'll need it? People are still gonna be stupid. They'll wander around and get killed. Assaulted. Harrassed. Mugged. Dangerous place out there. Whatcha gonna do if students are being bullied? Gonna set up a brand new sex safety class? What about weapons? Got new policiesfor them? Can't forget internet. Cyber security. Can't be all that hard to hack students from another school computer."

Tiny gave the man a tiny smile before it fell away and she looked down, backing up. That was too much. She was being rude. Maybe it was time to go?

Havoc was definitely not going to break. Breaking required some kind of emotions, and Havoc didn't really have any.

"I don't intend for my policies to completely change things," Havoc said. "The school already has a pre-existing security policy, and a pre-existing security team. The point of the change is to students to feel confident. The bullied can learn to defend themselves. The victims can learned to defend themselves. That is where the focus lies--so that everyone can take their own defense into their own hands, rather than having to feel helpless."

He probably sounded slightly impassioned, but Havoc only sort of was. He did care about self defense, yes, but he didn't really care about defending the helpless. He liked self defense for the sake of self defense, not for the sake of protecting the innocent or anything like that.

"Did you have any more questions?"

"I'll take that as a 'no' to my first question."

Tiny toed at the ground, awkwardly uncomfortable now. She'd poked, and just like the soldiers he didn't have a reaction. What was she supposed to do now? She couldn't offer her vote or support, not being a student.

"No."

Her voice was quieter now, and she stepped back. He didn't actually give a damn about the students that needed protecting. Or anyone who needed protecting, really. Tiny was pretty sure that if it came down to it, she qualified as the second, even if she never died. It stung a little, knowing that the soon-to-be student council wouldn't care if she attended or not, and while that hadn't been her intent when she arrived on campus, she certainly wasn't signing up now.

"Thanks for explaining."

Tiny handed Havoc the poster back, quietly turning to leave.
