Ain hesitated at Ria's words, he pulled back slightly and seemed to take a moment to think. Ria was relieved, but at the same time she was terrified Ain would think of it as a mistake, let it go, let
them go. That thought almost made Ria want to take it back, but she knew it had to be said. It was a fact Ria barely knew anything about Ain, they had just met, Ria could be anyone and Ain could be anyone and neither of them would know. There was a forbidden forest of mystery between them. And yet...
Why did Ria feel this way, want this so badly?
"
What are you doing to me...?"
Ria whispered quietly as Ain lifted his left hand and brushed it first through her hair, which alone made a small shiver go down her spine. Him circling her ear almost made Ria gasp, but she managed to keep it to a small sharp inhale. And when Ain's hand finished its journey across her face it moved to remove Ria's hand from between them. Ria did not resist, and when Ain finally leaned in and pressed his lips against hers it felt like a weight fell off her shoulders and heart.
Ria had kissed others before, multiple times, and had deemed the act overrated. But kissing Ain, even if it was lightly like this, felt all different from any other experience. Ria exhaled slowly through her nose and let her eyes close. She felt Ain's hand in her lower back and let its weight bring her slightly closer to Ain. Ria lifted her other arm and brought it up to the side of Ain's head, and she slowly slid it slightly into his hair. She had wanted to touch his hair for a while now, to see if it felt as soft as it looked. Her other arm Ria slid onto Ain's back and tried to pull him slightly closer.
Ria never wanted this kiss to end, it felt too right, too warm and like she belonged there. So Ria would not end this kiss. Ain had started it, he should also finish it. Until then Ria enjoyed the soft feeling of Ain's lips on hers, the feeling of him in her arms, the feeling of herself finally accepting that she felt something towards this strange man, a cursed and mute man in the forbidden forest that was older than her by centuries. Those were all reasons not to develop emotions. But fate was a strange thing, and that thought made Ria smile slightly against Ain's lips. It was strange, but so was this island. But this felt right, so Ria let it happen.
