Was this really such a good idea? Yes, Ria had wanted this but she had not been in her right mind at the time. That place, time and athmosphere had done something to her judgement. Few days in "reality", outside the forest, had given Ria some time to look at what had happened objectively. It had all started because she had seen a person injure himself, and she had taken him back to his dwelling and even helped set his dislocated shoulder. That couldn't be called a common occurence, but it wasn't completely unheard of. As for what happened next, Ria had entered the forbidden forest in hopes of venting, and had found said person who apparently lived there. They had sparred, and when they finished it had been too late and thus dangerous for Ria to return. So she had stayed the night. This was where Ria stopped to think, this certainly was not a common occurence and was indeed quite unheard of. At least for Ria, who trusted nearly no one. But this man, somehow, had gotten Ria to trust him so easily. Even though she knew next to nothing about him, the man was a mystery. All Ria knew about him was that he apparently had a friend, Celeste, who seemed to trust him, he had a resistance towards her coating and an aura that made people afraid of him. He was skilled archer and not a bad fighter either, but seemed to be rather...easily flustered. Ria had pretty much gotten used to his aura but Ain's emotions had been much more infectious. Ria knew she was emotionally immature and using her empathy was a rare occurence, which was why she was easily affected by others' emotions. Ria really wanted to fix that about herself.

Despite all the warning bells that were going off in Ria's distrustful mind she was making her way through the forbidden forest in her Pixan form, on her way to visit Ain. It was sunday morning so no one would be missing her, and this time Ria had her phone with her. Her phone and some other things such as her magic theory notebook(Ain's abilities were interesting, Ria wanted to take notes), water and (a lot of)snacks and yes, a tazer. Ria went almost nowhere without it. But it was tucked at the bottom, hidden so Ain wouldn't see it and maybe hurt his feelings.
Wait, why was Ria even worried he'd hurt his feelings? In the worst case Ria would use it on him.
Ria shook her head and frowned, she was already getting close to the clearing where Ain lived. Ria had a lot of questions for him and about him.

Ria sniffed the air and caught a familiar scent in the breeze. She was very close. Ria started jogging but slowed down again when her nerves acted up slightly. Her ears twitched and Ria frowned, pushing her hand against her stomach. This was strange, her stomach felt strange, had she eaten something inappropriate? Though Ria could eat almost anything and never get sick there was always the first time. Ria didn't have time to analyze her stomachache further before she saw the clearing up ahead. Ria jogged the rest of the way and stepped into the clearing, looking around for any signs of Ain. Today Ria was wearing a black long sleeved shirt that had wide neckline and whose sleeves ended on elbows. As trousers Ria was wearing grey cargo pants with lots of pockets, and on her feet she had sturdy leather boots. All in all the outfit was a mix of feminine and practical, just how Ria liked it. Her hair was in the usual twintails.

It was a few days since Ria had left the clearing, and each day that went by after that he had adsentminded stared out towards the edges with the smallest of expectations - a few times at least. She said she wanted to come back to see him, she said that she would see him later, but when exactly was this later or would she even come back at all. These kind of thoughts were what he thought about, as he prepared for the day and even spent time early morning cleaning out his cabin; a stock of deer meat was in his stock room from hunting as well as some vegetables from his garden on the side of his cabin.

Ain had been a little hot and bothered by his thoughts of that girl in the night, and surprised by how much his imagination made Ria out to be so attractive and sexy within his mind. But even he realized that he needed to stop fantazing about her, if she had known that he was thinking about her like that he would get more than simply punched - he was sure.

That day he was wearing his red cloak and helmet as usual, and was firing off arrows into targets he had set up on the perimeter of his home. As was his way, a non-moving target was hit with bullseyes everytime, to be honest he could hit moving targets pretty easy too if there wasn't a defensive ability to stop it like that Shield spell that the Black Wings had. In all honesty he knew very few that could ever hope to match him when it came to archery, and even speed though Ria came close in that regard.

'Yep, still got it,' he confidently thought as he started picking up speed, firing arrow after arrow at the surrounding targets while circling around to gather the arrows before he ran out, that was until he nocked and arrow and readied an arrow while dashing to the next target when Ria popped out in his path...

'Ah, Ria!?' he thought loudly within his mind in complete surprise as he grinded to a halt, nearly plowing right into her her diminitive furry form. He breathed a bit heavily from his constant physical activity, only now once he had stopped did he realize he was soo tired, and looked down at her from under his helmet. He unnocked his arrow and dropped it to the ground next to him, and pulled his long bow to his right side.

He moved to what looked like to touch her or hug her, but swiftly pulled back to re-adjust and raised his hand with a light wave. 'She came back!' he thought happily.

As Ain almost collided with her Ria's ears perked and head snapped to look at his direction and her body reacted accordingly to the approaching danger. Ria dove forward and with a swift roll dodged the collission, or she would've dodged it if Ain wouldn't have been able to stop in time. Ria stayed in a stand-by position, hunched low, for a few moments until her mind caught up and she straightened, dusting her clothes a bit. Some grass was stick to her shirt and hair. Ria observed Ain and nodded.
"I wouldn't have thought I would have to dodge an attack again immediately when I see you. Is this going to be a pattern?"
Ria raised a brow, she was joking though her expression did not look like it much. She was still learning, after all.

As Ain moved closer and was attempting to what Ria determined was a hug of some sort she hesitated. Should she step back? Return the hug? What did you do in these situations? Ria had never had a friend, if Ain could be called that, before. But just as Ria was about to lift her arms Ain backed down and instead waved at Ria. Ria pushed back the slight tinge of disappointment, refused to awknowledge it, and waved lightly back.
"Hello Ain. Are you well?"
Ria observed Ain, he had obviously been exercising and he was wearing those peculiar clothes again. They reminded Ria of some of those medieval fantasy costumes she had once seen on her classmate's phone screen.

Ain felt a bit more calm when he was in his gear from his old world, the gear he wielded as an inquisitor that hunted down rogue mages, now he didn't do anything of the sort as it would lead him to jail if he even tried. The cloak was more of a reminder than anything else, it was sort of a part of who he is and was, and it would be hard for him to discard it easily.

Looking over to the fluffy Pixan, he noted her new clothing that covered her a bit more than last time, but didn't seem to lessen too much of her cute features when she was in that form; taking particular note of her button nose.

He was a little embarassed when Ria mentioned dodging an attack, and recalled he almost shot her with an arrow last time thery met. This time was an accident though, but even though he thought she might not be serious, her expression made it hard to make that call and lowered his shoulders to a bit of a slouch.

When she waved back to him, he wished that he maybe had hugged her instead, it wasn't like he hadn't touched her before anyway - when sparring that is. Too late to second guess himself, even if he wanted to do it. His eyes moved to Ria's long ears from under the helmet, though it would be difficult to tell just from looking, he wouldn't mind touching her ears too.

As the thought passed he shook it off and regained focus to her question of how he had been, taking particular note of her saying his name again causing him to smile, his lips barely visible under the helmet. He patted his chest with a hard tap of his palms to show that he was perfectly healthy and no longer sore from their earlier spar.

Pointing inward with his finger, he walked in towards the center of the clearing and paid close attention to the sunlight peaking through the cloudy sky, it wasn't the nicest day but it was better than if it rained which was quite possible in the Forbidden Forest. Stopping in the middle, he sat down on the grass and motioned for Ria to join him.

Ria was hit yet again by Ain's silence, bit it didn't make her as uncomfortable as last time. She had had time to mentally prepare herself for it and Ria was glad to notice it had worked. The effect of Ain's aura was also there, but Ria dismissed it. She had been training to keep her feelings under strict check ever since childhood and fear had been one of the first she had learned to push aside.

Ria did notice how Ain reacted to her supposed joke, and Ria suspected from the slouch that Ain had not understood or it was unclear to him whether it was a joke. Ria's each twitched and drooped just a tiny bit but she kept her stature straight.
"Naturally I'm joking, although I'm clearly still very bad at it. I have not taken either of the occasions personally, the last one was just good and fast judgement and defending from your side and this time was an accident. Or at least I hope so."
The last part was a joke, and this time Ria accompanied it with a small smirk to make that clear. See? She was learning.

As an answer to her question Ain patted his chest, and Ria thought she saw a hint of a smile under his helmet. Ria supposed that meant he was doing well, and she nodded with a hint of a smile. Next Ain pointed with his finger and made his way towards the center of the clearing. Ria was slightly relieved, she had not known what she would do next. So she followed Ain and like he gestured sat down with him, not too near but not too far. Ria, feeling the grass with her palm, reached and took off her shoes as well and set her feet against the ground. She felt more natural like this, more connected. Ria took a breath and briefly closed her eyes. But soon enough she opened them again and looked at Ain.
"I have some questions for you, about you. Would that be okay?"
She went straight to the point, no mind in circling it.

Ain was pleasantly surprised that Ria seemed to be fine with his aura, at least much better than previously if her reactions were any indication, it was possible that spending time in close proximity before allowed her to get used to it or she was just the type to adapt quickly. That was good, if she had thought of it as a problem for a long period, it would more difficult to get closer to Ria... like he wanted.

When he heard that she was joking he was relieved, but this time he had a good grasp of her humor and smirked back at her. Now she was just teasing him, but he kind of liked it.

Taking off his helmet as she proposed asking him questions, he glanced at her quietly as he placed the helmet down next to him and nodded to Ria firmly. He didn't know why she wanted to know more about him but he would do his best to answer any questions she may have, if it was someone else he may have refused but he was quite fond of Ria at this point and maybe he could somehow learn more about her in the process - it was win-win.

'Ask away, Ria,' he thought calmly as his eyes gravitated towards her bare feet for a second, deciding against doing it himself for the moment.

Thankfully Ria was able to clear the misunderstanding, or at least it seemed so when Ain smirked back at her. Ria wasn't used to this, talking and interacting all on her own. She usually didn't need to or she had Jii to speak for her. But it was good Ria learned to do it on her own. She needed it.

When Ain removed his helmet Ria foud herself strangely...relieved? Happy? In any case, she had wanted to see Ain's face and expressions properly and now she found herself staring at the man's face. Ria blinked and quickly turned away, confused and embarrassed. She directed her attention at her backpack, or more precisely sliding it off her back and setting it next to her on the grass. She wasn't going to take notes in front of Ain, at least not yet.
"Very well. I'm grateful that you're willing to answer my questions. My first one is..."
Ria turned to look at Ain with keen, observant eyes that had curiosity in them now.
"Are you from another dimension?"

If Ain didn't know any better, he was being interviewed rather professionally and didn't really expect it. It was like she had come here with the sole intention to learn more about him, but that couldn't have been it - he was probably just overthinking things again.

When she turned and stared at him with her bright purple eyes, he looked deep into them and saw how focused she was on him like she was trying gleam any details from him, even his body language. His violet eyes matched her focus, only his eyesight was much better than hers and was able to see nearly every physical detail that she would allow him to see.

The question came quick and without any extra words to complicate things, enough for a yes or no question, and he was glad she understood that. To think that she would guess he was from another dimension though, right off the bat, was there something about him that told her that or was it just obvious.

Ain nodded to her yes, firmly without averting his eyes...

Ria wanted to avert her gaze when Ain looked back at her, but refused to do so. Refused to back down, even if she felt her neck was a bit hot, with blush wanting to spread to her cheeks. Thankfully it didn't before Ain nodded once, an answer to Ria's question. Ria's ears perked a bit and though she didn't exactly smile her face lit up slightly. Yet again her suspiciouns had been correct. Something about Ain, his attire and air around him told Ria he wasn't of this world. But he didn't seem fae either, or ancient enough to actually be from the ancient times. So Ria had been left with him being from another dimension. That itself wasn't unusual at all, not on this island. Ria was just pleased to know it.

"I see. I suspected as much."
Ria turned her eyes away now and tapped her chin with a finger, thinking and staring at the woods. After a minute she looked at Ain again.
"It's only fair you get to ask me questions as well. If you want me to answer the same question I ask you you can pat my shoulder."
Ria patted her own shoulder once lightly as an example and brushed off a blade of grass she noticed on it.
"My second question is about your passive aura, that induces fear. Or at least I presume it's passive, unless you consciously want others to fear you. Which I doubt. Have you had it since birth? And if you want me to answer this same question I take it that you want to know about my coating."
Ria tried to sound professional but her eyes couldn't hide the genuine curious glint.

Ain watched her small form and noticed that his answer had lit her up a bit along with the smllest perk of her cute ears, before replying simply enough that she suspected it, he wondered how she figured it out still but he let the topic drop for now. It probably wasn't important, but he couldn't help dwell on it.

He let the thought pass as she mentioned an equal exchange of information, though he didn't know how exactly that would work he nodded in acceptance.

When her second question came it was much what he expected her to ask about, for it was something about him that was contrary to him normal demeanor, and the second that she mentioned that she presumed it to be passive he nodded with a yes, and shook his head with a no when she mentioned him consciously doing it. He listened more staying entirely focused on Ria and her questions, because these were actually multiple questions this time; He then shook his head no when she mentioned if it was from birth.

'Well that was a bit more than the first...' he thought as he wondered about Ria's passive effect on her and if touching her was going to do anything to him when he did it, but he didn't think that was the case he was still prepared for it.

For him to pat her on the shoulder he needed to get closer to her, she did give him permission to do so, so she must have known he would need to. He got up from his seat on the grass with a push from his hand, but stayed low to the ground as he moved in to where she was sitting and sat next to her on her left side this time. In a slow way, his right hand rose and gently patted on Ria's shoulder feeling her black long sleeved shirt's fabric and fur underneath as he did, unsure if he did it the right way he patted her again and pulled his hand back to him - his fingers momentarily sliding off her.

'Yes, tell me about your coating, Ria,' he thought as he kept his eyes on her from next to her now.
